Survival Evolved: Incarnation

*ALL CHAPTERS ARE FREE* With little to no explanation for their wiped memory, several survivors, referred to as Arkians, wake up on a beach on what seems to be Earth. These survivors have many differences, but the most defining one is Sky; The one with a White Stone on the back of his left hand. What kind of journey will Sky undergo because of this White Stone? Survival Evolved is meant to take place through the eyes of a teenage boy (mainly), meaning that some things he doesn't pick up on or connect in his mind are done ON PURPOSE. 2. Survival Evolved often describes gore/wounds in a gruesome way. There are many scenes in which slavery, human trafficking, or torture are talked about, so read with caution!

Check-Up

We all woke up around the same time to the bright lights in our room forcibly shoved into our faces.

"Rise and shine Arkians! It's been a while." Alatus said with a gleeful smile.

She pulled the quilted blankets off of each of us with that same smile and as groggy as we were, we all stood up in confusion to ask her what was going on.

"Not sure what kind of journey you guys went through, but you slept straight through yesterday and until noon today. You guys must've been tired. I let you sleep for that day because I figured you might need it, but as of today, you'll be put to work!" She added.

We slept for that whole day?! And, the only reason we even woke up today was that Alatus interfered... I wonder if the mental strain was too much, and we needed that sleep to heal.

"Wait, Alatus, can we visit the injured before we go off to work?" I asked her. She nodded and threw down a backpack full of things that rattled inside. The purple backpack's zipper was partially opened, and out came a pack of toothbrushes.

"It's hygiene supplies. Shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and anything else you can think of, are in there. We have several bathrooms in this housing unit, so split up that way. Showers are up for grabs, just finish by dinner, and meet me in the town square." Alatus said.

She turned around and walked out of the door while waving, closing it, and leaving us with the supplies she had given us for free.

"That girl is way too nice," I muttered. I picked up some supplies, one of each, for Lily and me, and crouched down beside her to hand everything over.

"Thanks," Lily said, opening each bottle to catch the scent of the soap we were using.

"I'm not sure if it's just our past experiences, but something doesn't feel right about this," Dani said, throwing the bottle up and down and looking out of the window.

"We're not used to hospitality, considering everywhere we went, people wanted to kill us. Let's just try to take this at face value. And, we should trust Sky. If he thought we were in danger, he would be out of that jail and here protecting us, right?" Carl advocated for the new people we were living around, and Dani seemed to calm down pretty easily.

"Alright, so, we'll shower and brush our teeth and whatever, and then meet up as soon as we're done. Let's try to get done within the next hour or so, that way we can repay our debt sooner. I'm sure Alatus would be pleased." Dani suggested, moving to one of the bathrooms.

Soon after we were done getting ready for the short day we would be working, we all gathered our things, and walked outside, to find Alatus sitting on a cluster of wooden boxes, talking to her brother, who was still bruised by the hit he had taken from Dani.

"Glad to see you here already... are you looking for the hospital? It's right down this path, take a right, and look for the building with a red plus sign on the front of it." Alatus said, continuing her conversation with her brother.

We silently listened to her instructions, and Dani led the path to the hospital. Once we all poured in, the nurse got up from behind the grey and blue desk with lined patterns and led us down a hallway with a ton of animals decorating the walls in the form of stickers, and into a big room with a few hospital beds for everybody.

On those beds, Tavian, Dante, and Rin were lying with a ton of small tubes leading into their bodies, speaking of ill omens.

"You guys! Did you win...? Where's Sky...?" Tavian opened his eyes slightly while looking at us, and they darted slowly back and forth as if he wanted to see Sky.

"He's fine, but a lot has happened and we won't explain to you until you're all well," Dani told him. Tavian nodded and let his eyes fall to the pressure of sleep, slowly drifting away.

"Hey, mean guy, my dad wanted to apologize for hurting you so badly." Faith said, tapping on Dante's shoulder.

"Yeah, that's fine. I forgive him. It doesn't look like I have a reason to hate him anymore anyway." He commented.

Last I saw of him, he was missing an eye and a ton of blood... but all of his wounds were healed as if they never happened in the first place.

"Hey! You cut me in half!" Rin shouted out to Dani. Dani rose her hand up in an apologetic stance and went to go sit by her in order to explain what had happened. It seemed that everybody was okay...

I don't know many leaders that could do that, and get this many people out alive. For God's sake, only a few people died in that encounter... and the others, such as Tyler and David, were completely silent. Otherwise, all was well.

I wanted to go visit Sky as well... I didn't want to just stop here...

"Next, can we go see Sky?" Faith said for me. I was impressed she read my mind like that... wait, can she read minds?

"Yeah, I'd like to go back to see him. Wait... Faith, why were you asleep for two days?" Dani asked her.

"I wasn't. I was awake for most of that, but I didn't want to wake up anybody else." She confessed. I guess she didn't need to sleep as much as we did... I was a little jealous if I'm being honest. I feel like I wasted time.

"Do we all want to go and visit Sky? I guess you guys haven't seen him in a while." Dani asked the crowd, looking back at everybody.

Ren and Ellios offered to stay behind with Rin, while Noboki, Moon, and Lisa offered to stay behind with Dante and Tavian.

"Alright then, let's go." Dani said, leading us out of the hospital after spending some more time with Rin, Dante, and Tavian.

Tavian and I exchanged looks that were soaked with the 'I told you so' glare that I didn't want from him... but he was right. Befriending Sky and making amends had been the best thing I've ever done in my life.
