Chapter 4 - Conversation

"Then let's apply you for an audition in the upcoming season 2 of Top Idol as an independent trainee!"

Kyle had a gaped mouth as soon as he heard her suggestion.

Of course, he knew Top Idol. It was a super popular survival show that was only released 1 year ago. He knew it because he watched the previous season during his grieving for his mom. It was the show that he watched every episode on the TV to distract himself from the death of his mom.

So, he also knew how evil the editors were! They sometimes manipulate trainees' normal interviews, conversations, and actions into something dramatic and controversial! Apart from that, there are the crazy talented co-trainees.

It was a show that really put the survival of the fittest into action.

He knew the downside, but the advantage of it was even greater because of exposure!

For example, as long as he passed his audition as an independent trainee, there may be some agencies that might have an interest in him. It was also to have connections with other trainees, even better if he had somehow gained a connection with one of the winners.

Also, he wasn't patient enough to wait for years to debut. Although he wished to become an idol, that doesn't mean he wasn't practical. If he didn't become an idol within 3 years, then he would give up. He knew he was impatient because many trainees were not even able to debut after 5 years; that's just how hard the competition within the idol trainee is.

Just like what he thought, Lee Soo Min said about the advantages and disadvantages of taking part in Top Idol, but Kyle had already made a decision.

"I'll join Top Idol," Kyle thought 'If there is an easier way, then I will go with the easier way!'

"Nice decision!"

He already knew that his chance of debuting through Top Idol was miniscule, but with his system, he would make it through!

•••••

Kyle plumped on his bed face first. He was tired after depleting his energy. It was simply a tumultuous day for him. All of it were quite expendant on his mental energy.

Sigh

His eyes were slowly drooping before stopping after remembering the system appearing earlier to him. Then, he looked for the system.

'Show me what you showed earlier.'

[ Mission: Debut

Due Date: February 23, 2018

Reward: Unique Skill

Punishment: Death ]

Seeing the due date, Kyle couldn't help but grimace. The system was simply saying that he must debut or else he will become a fertilizer!

Kyle suddenly thought that if he had applied for an audition at an agency and then the system suddenly presented him with this mission, he would lose his mind. But now that he has chosen to audition for Top Idol, he must grab every opportunity that will make him join the final line-up!

He knew that even though a year was long, it felt short when it was about debuting.

Just like that, he fell asleep after another thing piled up on him.

The next morning, Kyle felt energized. He looked around and saw that it was still the same as yesterday. He sighed but immediately forgot about it as he saw his large space bedroom (based on his standards).

"Good morning, world," he said while stretching his aching body.

After, he did his morning routine. He cleaned himself and the house except for his mom's room and, ate a plentiful meal, then went back to his room. It was currently Sunday, so he didn't have to go to school.

Sitting at the bedside, he was thinking about what to do today, then he recalled his conversation with Lee Soo Min yesterday night. Since he already made a decision to participate, then he must also prepare for it and so he went to work with his composing skills to actualize the melody in his head.

Of course, he didn't want to finish the entire song but complete the original melody of the song to act as a guide to him while trying to complete the condition of his first mission.

He went over to his desk, opened the drawer to look for his laptop, and researched the best composer app he could find with a wide range of virtual instruments and loops with versatile music composition software.

After searching for almost 30 minutes, he found EZMusic.

It was a free composing app meant for beginners, but after seeing its features, he downloaded it immediately and went to work.

Firstly, he needed to find similar melodies to the song inside his head, and he searched for an entire 20 minutes just to collect all the melodies. Secondly, he needed a piano. The piano was the most vital aspect of the entire music composition since the melody was entirely reliant on the piano.

But after searching for an hour and testing out various apps, he found True Piano. It has similar features to a keyboard piano and sounded good enough.

'Seems like I didn't have to break open my piggy to buy a keyboard piano, hoo,' Kyle wiped his non-existent sweat.

Kyle opened the app on his laptop and then played the entire song "When I Ran TO You" and recorded it.

The piano started with a simple and tender melody and then turned into a delicate accompaniment. The purpose of the melody was to emphasize the song's storytelling aspect. By the time he was done, he transferred the record to the composing app and then went to work.

Half an hour later, the entire melody of the song was completed. It was quite easy since he already have all materials he need and just have to assemble it.

"Finally done!" he said while stretching his arms out.

He wanted to finish the entire song immediately, but his stomach was already grumbling, so he went to the kitchen to eat lunch.
