Unable to hide

After a long silence, I asked, "Is that really the only reason?"

Kyoko tilted her head to look at me after I asked this before saying with a nod, "What other reason could there be? I just want everyone to see that you're the best."

A bitter smile crept onto my face when I heard this.

It seemed that I had completely overcomplicated this matter by thinking too deeply into Kyoko's actions. It seemed like she hadn't been planning anything special against the Kamo Family, she was just following her own desires.

But her desires were not what I wanted at all…

So I had fallen into my own trap and now was stuck in this situation where I was in the winners bracket.

I knew that it would be impossible for me to forfeit after this match, so the only thing that I could do was keep fighting until I met someone strong enough to knock me out of the bracket. I hoped that there really was someone strong enough to do that, preferably in the next match.
