Chapter 1Chapter 1: An Unfair Death

It was a little over 9.00 p.m in the small rural town of Michells Hills. Currently a commotion had erupted and small crowd of people could be seen carrying around lit torches and pitchfolks as they yelled, "Death to the home-wrecker!" "Death to the home wrecker!"

At the very front of the crowd, the home-wrecker in question was a man currently tied to the hood of a pickup truck as it slowly drove forward. His features weren't very visible under the dim light but his clear masculine voice could be heard as he spoke in a panicked tone.

"Hey come on guys, let's talk about this."

"Death to the home-wrecker!"

"I swear I didn't know they were married, believe me, I'm sorry!"

"The home-wrecker lies!" One angry mobber yelled out while raising his pitch-folk as he revealed, "He's been sleeping with our daughters and wives ever since he stepped foot into this town!"

The accused man was quick to defend himself. "Hey now you're exaggerating. Seriously, I swear you've got the wrong guy, you're making a mistake!"

"It ain't no mistake boy, I was in the closet when you fucked my wife. All 5 times I just watched ya. I even know every bad word you called her… and all the names she called me. You knew she had a man." The angry mobber argued, causing a few other men to look at him strangely, with one even putting a hand on his shoulder and asking, "You gonna be okay Bill?"

The mobber name Bill maintained an angry face and nodded. "I will be, once we bury this here home wrecker!"

'Shit…' The accused man thought as he continued to struggle and shake, trying to loosen the rope with which he was tied with. 'Dammit, it's too tight.'

As the man reached this conclusion, the vehicle suddenly made a turn into a muddy gravel road before stopping after driving just a few meters.

'Where the fuck did they take me?' The man though, unable to make out any distinguishing landmarks aside from a few scattered trees and long grass.

However his field of view was soon made clearer when some of the men carrying torches came to the front of the car, revealing that it had stopped just a few inches away from a hole in the ground with a poorly made white wooden casket inside.

'Shit, shit, shit…' The man began to struggle more as it became clear that his situation wasn't going to improve. 'These guys are really going to kill me!'

Just as he had that thought, a tall burly man exited the truck and lit a cigarette before approaching. He came to a stop right before the tied man and took a puff of his cigarette before blowing the smoke on the man's face as said, "there's a special place in hell for fucker like you."

After saying that, the burly man removed the cigarette from his mouth and ashed it on the man's forehead before turning away and yelling, "Somebody bring the shovels in the back… let's bury this weasel already."

"Wait! You're making a mistake…" The man tried to argue but at this time two men began to untie his rope while another two held onto his arms.

He began to panic and move his head around while still struggling but just then another mobber suddenly placed a blindfold over his face and stuffed a cloth in his mouth.

"Shut up! Home wrecker!" One man angrily yelled before throwing a gut punch.

*Argh!* *cough* the now blind folded man coughed and groaned in pain, before feeling the ropes he was tied with loosen. Unfortunately he could be barely react to this as in the next moment, he was pushed into the hole.

*Bam!* He landed with a loud thud that caused a wave of pain to be felt all over his body. And although he couldn't tell exactly where, he could feel that he had broken something. 'Fuck…'

He tried to raise his body but felt pain all over and immediately laid back down on the wooden and moist muddy inside of the casket.

*Bam!* Just then he could hear the casket being shut, which prompted him to raise his hands in attempt to feel the top. And sure enough it was closed, not tightly, but closed.

Just as he was holding it thought, the situation got worse as he could feel and hear dirt being put into the hole, with a voice on the outside urging, "Hurry up! We still gotta burn his stuff."

The man in the casket tried to move around but the space he was too small. He tried to yell but the cloth muffled his pleas.

'Dammit! Where the fuck is James!? He's the fucker they're looking for. It can't be coincidence that the fucker just left me here and with his clothes! Fuck!' The man inwardly vented, unable to fully express the unfairness he was feeling in that moment.

'Go to a quiet town they said, it'll be good for the mind they said. Fuck, I'm a goner.'

The longer he laid there, the more oppressive the air became. His breathing grew ragged as the oxygen in the casket dwindled. Each inhalation was a struggle, the cloth in his mouth making it even harder to draw in the precious little air that was left.

He squirmed, his body still aching in pain from the earlier fall. Each movement sent waves of agony through him, but he couldn't stop. He kicked, he punched, he writhed, but the casket held firm.

Soon, his breathing became shallow. The air felt thick, like trying to breathe through a wet cloth. His vision, already darkened by the blindfold, began to fade at the edges. Dizziness overtook him, and a cold sweat broke out across his skin.

The realization of his impending death hit him like a cold wave. 'This is it… I'm really going to die…'

His movements slowed, his body succumbing to the lack of oxygen. His thoughts became disjointed, a chaotic jumble of fear and regret. And then finally, everything went black.

**Congratulations, you have died and awakened the Supervillain Idol System.**

I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

Across the vast convolution of worlds, divine beings rule as absolute sovereigns—each god assigned dominion over a singular realm. Skirmishes are inevitable, whether for power, amusement, or sheer pettiness. One such battle, between Nexus, the God of Trickery, and an aging, senile deity, resulted in an anomaly… A soul misplaced. Elliot, an ordinary man, was never meant for Ul’Tra-el. But fate, or perhaps a cosmic prank, had other plans. Unlike other worlds, Ul’Tra-el is an aberration—one that developed a voice. A voice that diverged from the natural order. A voice that changed everything. Its foundation cracked, leaking dimensions into one another. Rifts tore open like festering wounds, vomiting forth unspeakable horrors—monsters not meant to exist. But the world did not sit idly by. In response—perhaps an act of self-preservation—the world gifted its inhabitants power. Talents awakened, granting people extraordinary abilities. And for every rift sealed, the Voice of Ul rewarded them generously. Survival was simple: fight, grow stronger, and close the rifts… or die trying. In this ruthless, blood-soaked reality, Northern—a white-haired boy burdened by his past life—was reincarnated. But unlike the chosen heroes, he awakened as a talentless nobody. No power. No strength. No future. And when death loomed over him—when despair clawed at his soul and the cold grip of the failure threatened to take him— A Voice responded: [System Notice] [Your Soul cannot take a form.] [Searching for a Unique Pattern Ability…] [Searching…] [Search Found.] [A Unique System Ability has been detected.] [You Can Copy And Evolve Talents] ... Follow Northern through his journey as he becomes the pinnacle of this world. This a story about a white-haired boy’s rise from rubbles!! Note: This is an overpower genre but MC does not just start off like that. Even though MC can copy talents he doesn't just jump around copying talents because there's a limitation. However, his rise to strength is depicted and is an experience to enjoy. The first few hundreds would be frustrating to follow because MC is weak but that makes the experience all the more interesting when MC finally gets freaking strong and starts wiping the floor with everyones asses.

I’ve noticed most Webnovel  books don’t clunk up their synopsis with what the story entails like most traditional books and instead the author gives a personal review to explain a few things… often very shamelessly too. So here I am to try and do the same, hopefully this review saves you the time if the book isn’t what you’re looking for. Writing Quality: You’ll come across very mistakes in the story and though I’m no English scholar, I think the grammar is at worst average. So no worries here. Update Stability: 7 or more chapters each week. More if power stone goals are met or gifts are given. I’m sweet like that.  Story Development: This where things get tricky. The story is slice of life but don’t let that fool into thinking we’ll just be seeing the MC do mundane things over and over again. The story is a comedy first, urban progression second and slice of life third. In summary, this story doesn’t take itself at all seriously and that’s intentional. It’s a slow but entertaining journey of the MC in a very ‘unique’ world. World Background: Speaking of world, this is perhaps one of the stories biggest selling points in my personal opinion. It takes place in an alternate reality that will seem very familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. If you read the disclaimer and understand it then you already know how fun of a world this will be to see. To give a hint, imagine our current world was one where superhumans existed and are solid part of society. This may be the most love/hate aspect of the story as some may find it annoying while others incredibly entertaining, we shall wait and see. Character Design: I promise all shapes and sizes but I know that’s not what this means so I’ll explain the more boring stuff. The characters are well thought out and I’ve got to great lengths to ensure they don’t seem two dimensional in the least. I of course can’t do this for every single character in the story to the same extent but you get what I mean.  All in all, I’d say give this a try and see for yourself. The chapters are all free as of this comment. If it’s not for you, just leave it. If you like it but hate certain aspects, lemme know in a comment or review and if you love it, also lemme know, it’s nice to know my work is appreciated and motivates me to write more.  Whoever sees this and doesn’t read 20 chapters of the book is gae.

To celebrate the conclusion of the second volume, it’s time for me to write the review. First, however, I must apologize. I have waited far too long. This story deserves much more attention and appreciation than it has received so far, which is why I should have written this review at least 100 chapters ago. SHS is an excellent story, with often unpredictable events and locations (I absolutely love the Theatre of Nightmares, just to say one). The world is complex, and there are really a lot of characters, all special in their own way: here you will not find cardboard cutouts with a name scribbled on just to make up the numbers. However, getting to know all these characters, this world and the ties that hold them together takes time. But after a while, you get to know them as if they were alive. And these characters ARE alive! The writing style is equally good. The descriptions are rich, but not excessive: you can “see” even the strangest places, but this does not weigh down the reading. And the dynamic actions are almost movielike. The author (or translator/adapter in case the story is originally written in a language other than English, but I don't think so) demonstrates a great knowledge of the English language. And I am not exaggerating to say that his writing does not disfigure even if compared to renowned authors such as Wilbur Smith (chosen on purpose given the heavy amount of R18 scenes). But the best thing of all is the pacing: the action scenes do not take away space from the story, the dialogues are not too long and pretentious, and even the R18 scenes are distributed as a “prize”, for the protagonist as for the reader. Everything is balanced to grip the viewer at the key moment and let him breathe when he needs to. I must say, however, that all this applies only from a certain point of the story onward. At first, in fact, the story starts off slow, and in the first few chapters it is a bit clunky (as the author himself admitted). And this is what probably turned some readers away. But it has improved over time, and a lot, and continues to do so. The first moment when you can really begin to see what SHS is like and what its potential is, is the block of chapters entitled “Attack on Central Mall” (Ch. 65-70). From there on, everything starts to improve, slowly at first, then faster and faster until it reaches its present quality. I know, it's beyond the free chapters, but you can take advantage of the 24h free reading time you get after 14 days of consecutive logins. It costs you nothing, and I guarantee that it is worth it. There have been a few slips from time to time, but the author (as he said himself), is learning. And, trust me, he is learning fast and very, very well. So, give this story a chance, and try to read it. You will not regret it.
