Superstar Maker

Jaxon Vaughn was once the CEO of Diamond Entertainment, one of the leading companies in the entertainment industry. He was set to take over once his father stepped down as chairman--and he's been consistently working hard towards that goal. However, there were other factors he had to take into account: mainly, his greedy stepmother and her son. A car accident orchestrated by his stepmother cost him and his father's life, causing him to suddenly wake up in the body of seventeen year old Jayden Black in a parallel world similar to his own. With the appearance of the Superstar Maker System, Jaxon Vaughn, now Jayden Black, will tread the dirty waters of the entertainment industry in order to get revenge on those who plotted for his death, become a superstar worthy of a household name, and reach the pinnacle of the entertainment industry.

I Don't Exist

This world was really similar to his old one, Jaxon soon found out. After perusing Jayden's old history books and comparing their content to the memories he has from his first life, he was surprised to learn that they practically share the same history–with minor differences.

One such example is the legacy of Queen Elizabeth the 1st. While it was common knowledge that Queen Elizabeth paved the way to England's golden age in his old world, in this world she never had the chance to become queen. Her sister, Mary the 1st, remained Queen of England until her death. Another bizarre occurrence he discovered was this: instead of Neil Armstrong being the first person (man) to walk on the moon, a woman by the name of Natasha Alnwick was. Gender equality in this world apparently has long been acknowledged and practiced when compared to his previous world. But aside from these slight historical changes, nothing really diverted from the course of the history he knew. World Wars One and Two still happened, Korea separating into North and South still happened, the assassination of John F. Kennedy still happened. The Philippines regained its independence after centuries of being colonized, the United States elected its first black president, and now King Charles was proclaimed as Britain's Monarch after the death of his mother.

The only strange thing in this new reality was that people, even infamous historical figures, had odd hair-eye color combinations. The evidence was depicted in portraits and in colored photographs. Who knew that the infamous Bloody Mary had cotton candy pink hair?

After going through most of this world's history, he decided to search the internet to be updated about the current events.

He was suddenly overcome with curiosity. Would the entertainment industry also be the same as his previous world?

His hands hovered for a few seconds over the keys, before his fingers began typing out the words 'Diamond Entertainment' in the search bar. He hesitated briefly before pressing enter.

Instantly, hundreds of images and articles flooded his computer screen.

[ Dating Scandal of the Century? Diamond Entertainment singer and actor Nicholas Hunter seen coming out of hotel room hand in hand with Golden Phoenix star Tessa Barrett ]

[ Diamond Entertainment to launch third season of 'Who's Your Idol?' after two consecutive successful seasons ]

[ Alexandra Ferrell, Diamond Entertainment's Brightest Star, makes splashes at the 21st Golden Flower Awards ]

He was surprised to learn that Alexandra was signed under Diamond Entertainment in this world instead of Golden Phoenix, but the headlines of the article underneath froze the blood in his veins.

[ Diamond Entertainment Chairman Francis Vaughn establishes grandson and heir Jared Vaughn as the company's CEO ]

That couldn't be.

His grandfather, the great Francis Vaughn, Founder of Diamond Entertainment, died twenty years ago when he was just six years old.

His hand gripped the mouse tightly. Right, this world was slightly different from the world he came from.

But to his knowledge, there is no world in existence where his grandfather would allow his son's mistress-turned-wife anywhere near the company, let alone make her son (Jaxon's step brother) his legitimate heir.

His grandfather was the one who arranged the marriage between Jaxon's parents. As with the case of most influential, wealthy families, theirs was a business marriage. Jaxon's mother, the late Madame Margaux Vaughn, was the daughter of the vice president of xTV, one of the most watched channels on national tv.

To his grandfather, his mother was the daughter he never had, and treated her as such. When news of his son's affairs reached his ears, he refused to tolerate it and instead threatened to disown his son if he didn't set his priorities straight. He even approached his step mother (who was still his father's mistress at that time) to convince her to leave him in exchange for five million dollars. She agreed, took the money, and left.

However, just a few months after his grandfather's death, his father left his mother on her own and continued his affair with his mistress. Two years later, Jaxon's mother died, and immediately after the funeral, he whisked his mistress to Country D where they had a small private wedding ceremony.

When they came home after their honeymoon, his step mother had a huge 24 carat diamond ring on her ring finger and a nine year old boy in tow.

Jared Greene, his step brother.

He wasn't a Vaughn; he will never be a Vaughn. That was the only consolation he got from his father, who loved his step son more than his own flesh and blood.

Jared may thirst all he wants for the chairman seat, but the position will never be his as long as his surname is still Greene.

But this article clearly stated him as a Vaughn.

He read on, even as shock and anger coursed through his veins. It was, indeed, as the article stated. In this world, Jared was a Vaughn. He was the chosen heir of the Founder and current chairman himself.

But where was Jaxon Vaughn?

He read the article countless times to check if his name had been mentioned without him noticing.

There was no one named Jaxon in the article.

He exited the page feeling unsettled, and typed the name 'Jaxon Vaughn' in the search bar.

The results loaded just a second later.

0 results.

A few more searches later earned the same results, until he was forced to accept the truth.

In this world, there was no Jaxon Vaughn.

In this world, he doesn't exist.
