The middle-aged man sitting across the dinner table picked up a pair of chopsticks and gave his advice, unhurriedly.

Upon hearing this, Ke Mingye lifted his eyes from his phone screen and gave the man a helpless look. "I got it, Dad, how many times have you said that?" he said, drawing out his words.

As he looked at the middle-aged man, he saw a panel appear above the man's head.

Ke Youqing said as he took the rice handed to him by his wife and glanced at Ke Mingye.

"Yeah, they are. Big Bro texted that he'll take the high-speed rail home in a couple of days, and Second Bro said the same."

Ke Mingye picked up a piece of braised pork with his chopsticks and stuffed it into his mouth, answering indistinctly as he chewed.

Ke Youqing was silent for a while. "Since they're on break, have them come back early. It's not very safe outside recently; it's safer at home." After saying this, he picked up a piece of spicy tofu and mixed it with rice before eating it.

"Alright."

Ke Mingye responded casually and continued playing with his phone.

"You're too neurotic, Keqing. Can you stop scaring the kids?"

The voice came from the kitchen sink, where a woman wearing gloves and an apron was washing dishes. She sighed and scolded as she cleaned.

Ke Mingye glanced at her. That was his mom—technically, the mom of this body. Just like his dad, a panel slowly appeared above her head.

Ke Mingye held his chopsticks in his mouth and secretly complained in his heart, not daring to even glance at Bai Wenna as she washed the dishes.

"That was an accident," Ke Youqing paused, "I'm getting old, and my memory isn't that good."

Listening to their conversation, Ke Mingye shrugged. He knew it wasn't an accident. Last night, a superhuman crime broke out in the center of Huanjing, and Ke Youqing had been washing dishes in the kitchen. When he heard the news, he immediately put down the dishes, wiped his hands, and rushed out without a word.

Nobody knew what he went to do. Zi Ni had scornfully said their dad surely had a cigarette craving and ran to the store downstairs in the middle of washing dishes—not a normal thing to do.

All Ke Mingye knew was that last night, a "Justice Knight" handled the incident immediately, with no casualties, and all superhumans involved were taken into custody.

Ke Youqing thought he hid it well, coming back with a pack of Zhonghua cigarettes in his hand and one in his mouth, causing Zi Ni to point at him and shout, "See, I knew Dad went to buy cigarettes!"

But to Ke Mingye, every family member's identity was entirely transparent, making such disguises meaningless.

"Alright, alright, it was an accident," Bai Wenna washed her hands, removed her apron, and picked up a pair of chopsticks, walking to the table to sit on Mingye's right. "Go call your sister for dinner."

"She won't come; she's busy on her phone. If she's hungry, she'll come down on her own."

Ke Mingye picked up a piece of meat and listlessly replied.

"She has to come no matter what," Bai Wenna grew angrier as she spoke, turning to shout at Ke Youqing, "Look at this, Keqing, this is the result of spoiling them. None of them come to meals on time! They only come when the food is cold!"

Ke Youqing sighed, putting his chopsticks down on the table. "Alright, I'll go call them." He said, slowly getting up from his chair and walking toward the stairway.

Bai Wenna "hmphed," resting her chin on her hand and using the other to pick up a rib with her chopsticks and bring it to her bowl.

The situation seems off. Should I warn those two upstairs just in case...

Ke Mingye glanced at Ke Youqing's back, pondering.
