Chapter 129: Three New Students

Robert took out the amulet, examining it carefully before releasing his mental power to detect any traps left by Constantine.

Soon, his eyes brightened as he found an unusual spot on the amulet, not inherent to its power. With a buzz, Robert's qi mixed with his mental power struck the anomaly.

Crack! A breaking sound followed, and the amulet's power was fully unleashed. Had Robert not shielded himself with qi in time, his soul might have been controlled by the amulet's power, far more formidable than the small crack to hell.

"He found it so quickly? Hmph! Damn! It seems reclaiming my treasure won't be easy... Where did this freak come from? How did he target me? Or was he after my treasure from the start?" Constantine, now far from Robert, could sense his trap on the amulet being destroyed. Frowning, he muttered to himself while looking in the direction of the apartment building Robert had been in.

"Powerful in both strength and speed, with a strong body and soul. Where is his weakness? Troublesome, this guy is more problematic than the formidable demons of hell... Hmm? What if I set him up against a powerful demon from hell?"

Lighting up at the thought, although Constantine currently had no means to track Robert's location, he believed their paths in the supernatural world would cross again.

If Constantine faced an unbeatable foe in the future, perhaps he could arrange for Robert to clash with them, to see who was stronger.

Meanwhile, Robert, unaware of Constantine's schemes, wouldn't have cared much even if he knew. He was also interested in finding Constantine's location, intrigued by his magic. If Constantine could indeed bring demons to fight him, Robert would surely thank him.

Having secured the amulet, Robert felt its power could strengthen his soul, even though it wasn't as crucial as the horse talisman but could still enhance his spiritual power.

This was important as Constantine's magical attacks targeted Robert's soul. Without a strong soul, Robert might have indeed fallen for them.

"Too many people! The commotion earlier was too big, a bit troublesome. Better let Uncle Dragon handle it; I won't go over..." Robert sensed many presences gathering at the apartment building, likely due to the fight with the demon drawing attention. After all, a big hole in a house couldn't be easily overlooked. Robert informed Jackie Chan through telepathy.

At the apartment building, Jackie Chan showed his credentials from District 13, calming the agitated residents.

Just then, the boy previously possessed by the demon woke up, his eyes filled with confusion and fatigue, as if unsure why he felt so tired and how he ended up there.

"He's awake, my son is awake!" The boy's father exclaimed excitedly, momentarily forgetting the wall's destruction and the demon. As long as his son was safe, nothing else mattered.

Seeing the boy awake relieved Jackie Chan, who didn't want a child to lose his life over a supernatural event.

Soon, Jackie Chan left the building to meet up with Robert, and they flew back to the antique shop together.

While the horse talisman had been given to Jackie Chan, Robert wanted to further study the goat talisman. After all, he had decided to develop his abilities in all aspects, so it was best not to leave any glaring weaknesses.

Thus, during the last part of the summer break, Robert managed to project his soul out of his body by studying the goat talisman. However, his plan to use a gentle qi to nurture both his body and soul while out of body failed.

The power wasn't from the goat or horse talisman. Robert needed more research to achieve this, but the goat talisman was no longer needed...

With the new term starting, Robert and Cara, as usual, practiced combat in the morning, had a hearty breakfast, and then headed to school together.

However, three new students transferred to Robert's class this term, unlike Robert's mid-term transfer, these students followed the normal transfer procedures.

Their parents didn't make special requests to the teachers for extra freedom for their children, so Selena introduced the three new students to the class, hoping they would integrate quickly.

"Alright, everyone, look this way," Selena called out, drawing everyone's attention before introducing the new students.

"This student is Peter Parker. Interestingly, he's from Midtown High School in New York, sharing our school's name. But from now on, he's one of us. I hope you all get along well..." Selena first introduced Peter Parker, who looked meek with his hunched posture and glasses, then turned to the other two transfer students to continue.

"You can probably tell, these two are twins. The older is the sister, Lorna Maximoff, and the younger is the brother, Pietro Maximoff..."

"Wait!" Before Selena could finish, Pietro interrupted her, anxiously clarifying. "We are twins, but actually, I'm the older one. I'm the brother!"

It wasn't the first time Pietro was mistaken for the younger sibling. Almost every time he and Lorna went out together, people assumed Lorna was the older sister...

But Pietro always corrected them, and this time was no exception. After all, Pietro didn't want to start his new school life being seen as Lorna's younger brother...
