**Smallville Town Corner**
Darkness crept along the halls of the abandoned building, shrouding every corner with eerie darkness. The faint moonlight that came in through the cracked window was only able to illuminate a small part of the room which was full of dust and silence. The sound of footsteps sounded like a whisper between the cracked walls, as if someone or something was hiding in the shadows.
In the middle of the room, an old chair with a man sitting on it, with his head bowed, blood flowing from his head. The almost painful silence was only disturbed by the sound of the wall clock ticking slowly, creating a mysterious rhythm that hung in the air. Shadows distorted by moonlight merge with unknown objects, creating an elusive illusion of form and reality.
A water tap suddenly flowed without a touch, filling the room with a rush of water that seemed to come from another world. Subtle vibrations rocked the air, causing the dim lights in the center of the room to flicker, adding to the indescribably mysterious atmosphere. All this creates the feeling that the boundaries between the real and invisible worlds are increasingly blurred, and the presence of two points of dim red light watches from behind the curtain of darkness, waiting for the right moment to reveal itself.
"Why did you do that?" A soft, melodious voice asked, making it hard to believe that he was the creator of this eerie atmosphere.
The man looked up, "Who are you? What creature are you?" Half-consciously, the man answered the figure's question with a question.
"Oak"
The man suddenly felt a strong pressure around his neck. A woman's delicate hand gripped his neck with such force, it was unbelievable coming from her.
"Answer my question, why did you do that?" Said the woman's voice increasingly threatening.
"He hehehe, it's nice to suggest (of course it's fun)," answered the man.
Letting go of the man, the woman continued to stare at him menacingly.
"Cough... Cough... are you the bat's partner?"
"Hehehhahaha ho... He seems to really enjoy playing his heroes."
Continuing to observe the man, the woman floated around him.
"Hey miss... I don't know what tricks you're using but you'd better let me go. Don't you know who you're dealing with!?"
"Is that so?" the woman replied with a smile, which made it even more scary for the man.
"You really want to die..."
The man had not had time to finish his words.
The woman's eyes, which radiated red aura in her pupils, became brighter as if they were about to reveal something. Unexpectedly, the eyes released two terrifying red hot rays.
"AaaaakkjkAaaakkkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
The man's screams of pain filled the room, but no one could hear them, until he died in the most painful pain in the world.
Putting away her heat vision, the woman left the building, leaving only the dust of the man's remains floating in the wind from the cracked windows.
**The Kent family home**
09:23 AM
As a farmer, Jonathan Kent always rises early. He typically wakes long before the sunrise, even when most of his family is still asleep. It's something he has done throughout his life, taught by his father who did the same throughout his own life, and he doubts it will change. The routine gives him a sense of security and peace.
His body moves on autopilot through the usual tasks of feeding the chickens and ensuring they have water. He uses a shovel to scoop up the dirt that has accumulated overnight and places it in the compost bin. As the first light of dawn begins to appear on the horizon, he heads outside and walks through the wheat fields, checking on the harvest. The colors, clarity, texture, and a dozen other small things that are as natural to him as breathing. He hardly has to think about it.
After all that, he sits on the rocking chair on his porch, listening to his beloved old radio on the table beside him, as Jonathan tunes in to find the frequency of his favorite radio show. He inadvertently listens to a specific news radio program.

"The world is getting more dangerous, hopefully that criminal is captured soon," Jonathan muttered. He was genuinely worried about his family, fearing something might happen to them. Though he knew his worry sounded absurd, considering two of his family members are superpowered aliens—excluding Clark, as he's still a baby, but for Kara, she is a girl with the power to destroy the world if she chose to.
From a distance, Jonathan spotted Kara approaching.
He stood up and ran towards her.
"Kara, where have you been? We were worried, Clark even kept calling for his mother last night; luckily, Martha managed to calm him down."
"Sorry, Jonathan," Kara apologized to Jonathan with a regretful expression.
"So, where have you been?" Jonathan demanded, a mix of concern and demand, seeking an explanation.
"Last night, I saw a rabid dog wandering in Smallville, so I caught it to prevent any harm, especially to you all."
After hearing Kara's explanation, Jonathan's expression softened, knowing that all night, Kara had been trying to catch the rabid dog, fearing it might endanger the people in Smallville.
If Jonathan reflected on it more deeply, with her speed, Kara could not only capture the dog but also travel back and forth to various parts of the Earth.
But it also showed how much Jonathan loved Kara, even though Martha considered Clark her son, more precisely known by others as her grandson, Jonathan saw Kara more as his daughter because he felt responsible for guiding her on this Earth. Jonathan couldn't imagine what he would feel watching his planet destroyed right before his eyes.
"Are you hurt?"
"No, I'm fine."
"In that case, let's go inside the house. Clark must have woken up and be looking for you again."
"Okay," she said with a sweet smile.
They then entered the house, and so, the peaceful days in Smallville passed once again.
