Oh god...
¿What was she doing? He had given her a chance to back out, was evident. Two steps, then she took six more. ¿Was it Lynn's idea, or did the man's shoulders shake? Lynn swallowed hard. She had called him a coward, ¿right? With this, she froze.
Come on, be brave.
Gosh. Lynn had many questions for him. Or maybe she just wanted to touch that gorgeous hair.
¿What was she thinking? It was best to leave the room as soon as possible. The truth was: that she was no longer thinking clearly. Then, the stranger was on his feet in a blink, and Lynn's heart stopped in her chest.
When he turned around, Lynn was already walking in his direction. It was as if an invisible wind was driving her. She didn't get a good look at his face, but it was as if an angel were calling to her when he thrust out an elegant hand with long tapered fingers. Lynn took it without hesitation.
The contact with his fingers sent a hundred waves of sensation throughout Lynn's body. To her embarrassment, she began to gasp. ¿What was that? She didn't have much time to think about it because he tugged at her hand. Lynn gladly relented.
For everything...
She went ahead, already knowing what she wanted. What she needed at that moment: Lynn went to him and kissed him.
Not a candid kiss: she, who had never kissed anyone in her life, went to devour his mouth. She felt him shudder; instead, he did not take any initiative, the stranger was immense and as if answering her desire: he had only bent to be within reach of her. Lynn took the opportunity to touch his hair. ¡And ¡oh! Wonderful! It was like silk threads. She wanted to pull the hair strands hard and sink into him. The sudden thought startled Lynn so much that she stopped. They were both breathing heavily by then, so gathering her courage, Lynn paid full attention to his face for the first time. ¡Oh! He was holding back. It was the first thing Lynn thought. To her wonder, the man smelled exquisite, a mixture of peppermint and cocoa. And he's also... He looked furious.
There was no doubt: there was anger in his eyes, but at the same time, he was looking at Lynn like no one had ever looked at her in her life. As if she was the most exquisite snack.
¡Snack!
"I... I'm sorry... um, us. That was absolutely inappropriate of me..."
And she began to cry out of sheer shame and humiliation. ¿What had led her to commit such impudence? But Lynn could feel it again. It was like pure fascination.
"Get out of here now" - His voice sounded sharp-edged, and Lynn hated it.
She risked a glance and found him staring at her harshly, poison dripping from those eyes whose color she couldn't define at the moment. Looking at him now, his imposing physique and his hostile attitude made her give in to fear. Most of all, he terrified her at the moment; so fear clouded any other feeling. Without any doubt, Lynn hurried away.
After leaving the ballroom, Lynn was lost in the corridors for half an hour until she could locate herself. ¿What had she done? She wished it had all been a dream. Better a nightmare. Outside, the storm had not ceased.
With a weary step, Lynn went down the stairs; she was exhausted and tired of everything: the trip, the stress, the embarrassment. Oh, the shame. She wished that both of them would forget everything that happened.
She hadn't finished thinking of this when she experienced intense fatigue. Suddenly, the world around Lynn seemed to spin, and she felt disoriented against the wall. Everything went dark for a second. Then Lynn blinked, and the world took on shape again.
¿Where was she? Oh, in the castle...
I went out looking for mom's song...
Lynn had to go back to her bedroom; she didn't know when or how, but the music had stopped. At least she was no longer able to hear the melody. Currently, Lynn couldn't explain how she had found the courage to leave her room. She hoped that she would be able to return safely. Besides, Lynn needed to get some sleep. She was so tired, and also hungry. On the other hand, her temples were practically hammering. ¡Ouch!
So then, after taking the last corridor, Lynn caught voices coming from a dim room that was quite close to hers.
"We were lucky you came back in one piece, Zhutak. I was worried." - Pause - "All because of that... that human. ¿How could you face five beast-men? ¿Are you completely crazy? ¿Or is it that arrogance clouded your senses?"
It was the heated voice of a young woman. Lynn swallowed hard and wanted to continue on her way, but her feet didn't obey her.
"¿What does the lord want from her, Zhutak? ¿Why is the human still with life?" - The unknown woman continued.
A snort resounded, then a gravelly hoarse voice answered the woman:
"You know the lord never says what he is planning."
There was a silence while Lynn trembled all over. She found herself unable to move from her spot. It was obvious they were talking about her. Luckily the dialogue resumed:
"¿What do you think of her? Is she attractive?"- After this question, there was another pause. Meanwhile, Lynn tried to convince herself that the couple couldn't hear the sound of her breathing - "Answer me."
"I guess she is" - The male, cavernous voice snorted.
Poor Lynn felt her breath catch as silence fell again. Then, one of the strangers stepped hard while the other snorted: it was probably the one who spoke with that strangled voice, which almost sounded like a kind of roar.
"You have never denied me anything, Zhutak" - The woman's voice continued - "I feel that this human will only bring misfortune to this house... ¡You should devour her!"
