Summoner Sovereign

Richard Huang, by bravely sacrificing himself, is given a new chance at life. In a world filled with technology so advanced that it is indistinguishable from magic, and overrun by monsters from another dimension. Following the footsteps of his adopted father, he enrolls in Jing Tian Magic Academy to become a summoner. Wait, what? Summoning is not viable? The current meta is all about fast, aggressive burn spells or lockdown and control strategies? Getting defeated by swift combat techniques before I can summon my giant monsters? ...sucks to be me, I guess. Warning: contains a lot of parodies of other stories (most noticeably Battle Frenzy) and fourth-wall breaking. If you hate Deadpool, you'll probably hate this story too.

"Richard? Richard, where are you…?"

"He's gone"

Rossetti swerved around and caught sight of Kufa. He was leaning against the wall, his arms crossed. He gave her a glance.

"You're finally awake."

"Where are we?" Rossetti swallowed and looked around, trying to fight her panic. She realized that she was in the air, embarked upon a hovercraft. "How did I…?"

"We are aboard a hovercraft, returning to Flandor City." Kufa's tone was calm, in stark contrast to Rossetti. She stared at him in disbelief.

"What? How…?"

"The evacuation. It's going underway." Kufa glanced out of the window. In the skies, there were hundreds of hovercrafts filling the air, the airborne vehicles streaking like comets toward other cities. Many of them were bulk transporters, ferrying entire regiments of military mages.
