Chapter four

It was a really deadly and drastic attempt for the Queen to step out of the fire shield that protected them all but she had to do that to stop her daughter who had already gone berserk from causing more harm to herself and the kingdom.

Immediately she stepped out,a great blast of fire met her with full force. At this point Leia had no idea it was her mum. The Queen managed to escape by a hair's breath and immediately started to cast a spell; a dangerous one at that.

The spell in question was very powerful and was enough to sap out the whole magic out of a person. It was dangerous but it was the easy route out.

The Queen cast the spell on her daughter who let out a great scream as she lifted a brick and threw it at her mother with the last strength she could possibly have access to and then passed out.

The Queen who didn't see the brick coming on time got hit so hard on the head that she was bleeding profusely. At this point in time, all was calm and quiet as Leia's magic powers had cooled down.

The King ran out of the shield and knelt beside his wife. " Honey! Honey!!" He called shaking her. He went to where his daughter was; she looked like death. He muttered some magic words and all of them were instantly at the palace.

He sent a message through the winds to the Grand duchess and then asked the doctor to come over. The great sorcerer was still hanging around ; his injuries being attended to.

The King strolled into the room where his wife was sleeping peacefully. He couldn't believe she could risk her life in such a dangerous situation. He was at a loss of what to do. But then he admired her courage and bravery and wondered what would have happened if she hadn't stepped out to stop her daughter who was going wild and berserk.

The doctor came in with his team and the King excused them and went to see his daughter. Laying down there it was difficult to tell if she was dead or alive but he was sure that his daughter would make it out alive.

But what was still bothering him was the fact that she exhibited so much power and still he didn't know how that was possible. A tear rolled down his face at the sorry sight of his wife and only child. He was about to break down in tears when he had the voice of the doctor coming in. He quickly wiped away his tears and excused them.

Quietly he went to his Chambers and was about sitting down when he heard a knock on the door. At that point , he lost it. At this difficult time why would any of the servants knock on his door?

"Who is it?" He asked. His voice clearly contained the pain he felt.

" It's me," The Grand duchess said and opened the door to see her brother making to stifle a cry. She had never seen him in such a state even when they had lost their parents. " It's okay," she tried to console as he ran into her embrace and broke into tears in the hands of his only family should his wife and daughter not survive it.

" Are they going to survive it?" He asked looking at the Grand duchess. She was his only hope as she was the only one whose magical powers surpassed that of his and the queen's.

The Grand duchess looked away. She could feel the helplessness of her brother." I don't know. I haven't examined them yet. I want us to do this together." She said and held out her hand. The King took it slowly and they walked to the room where the Queen laid.

The King walked to where his wife laid and held her hands. " What do we do now?"

The Grand duchess didn't reply. Instead she left the room and went to where Leia laid. She took off Leia's bracelets and her earrings and went back to the queen's room.

Once she was inside, she took off her own earrings and bracelets and placed all of them on the queen's chest and started muttering some strange words. The King was surprised. He never knew that the bracelets and earrings had other functions apart from finding the wearer.

Catherine continued to mutter spells after spells until the Queen stirred. She then slowly opened her eyes and looked at everyone in the room. Everything seemed blurry within the first two minutes of her consciousness. And then she could make out the faces in the room. It was her husband and Catherine.

The King was full of appreciation as he rushed to embrace his wife who was in tears as she thought she would never wake up again.

"Thank you, Catherine. " the Queen said in appreciation.

"Glad I could help. If you would excuse me, I'm going to check up on little pumpkin." She said and left the room but not without removing the queen's bracelet. "I would be needing this." She said and left.

In the princess room,Leia was laying down peacefully. Catherine walked close and ran her fingers through her to find out if there was still life in her all to no avail. It was difficult to tell. She had shut everyone out of her conscious and unconscious mind. Well there was only one way to find out.

She put only her bracelets and earrings on Leia's chest and muttered some spells but nothing happened. Then she added the Queen's own and then Leia's own but still nothing happened. She tried all the spells she could but nothing was working. Catherine became scared. Was leia dead? Oh no! That would be the worst thing that has ever happened. She began to panic. What was she going to do now?
