The Breathless Kiss

Lu Feng Xi found herself utterly astonished by the unexpected kiss. She hadn't foreseen her life taking such a sudden and dramatic turn. She attempted to pull away but it was in vain.

Shen Yu Han's kiss left her breathless, his lips capturing her with an intensity she hadn't anticipated. He longed to feel the rise and fall of her chest as her breath quickened. It was evident to him that her dress was uncomfortably constricting her, thus hindering her ability to breathe freely.

His fingers deftly loosened the laces of her corset. Feng Xi felt better. She would not deny that Yu Han was a great kisser. Feng Xi had never experienced anything like this before. However, now all she wanted was for him to stop kissing her. Her hands pressed against his chest to push him away.

Angrily, Feng Xi bit his lip, causing him to withdraw and touch his lip with his thumb quickly.

An evil smile appeared on Shen Yu Han's face as he swept Lu Feng Xi off her feet, cradled her in his arms, and carried her to the bed again.

Feng Xi thrashed her legs in the air, asking him to let her go. Yu Han threw her on the soft mattress as it sank beneath her weight. Her straps were already off her shoulders as she opened her mouth to speak.

"Wha–What are you trying to do?" Feng Xi asked breathlessly while studying his dark eyes. He tenderly caressed her cheek before pulling her up by her nape.

"I love wild things. You bit my lip, so I should also…" Yu Han paused as he dipped his face in the crook of her neck. Before she could understand, his lips kissed the sweet spot right below her, causing Feng Xi's eyes to close. However, Yu Han stopped and peered into her eyes again.

"You know what a husband and wife do on their first night. We will do that and make a baby," Yu Han stated. He wanted to tease her, terrify her, and see her reaction.

"Wh–what?" Lu Feng Xi's jaw dropped as she learned that he wanted a baby from her.

The smirk on Yu Han's face intimidated her, and she began moving back until her back touched the headboard of the bed.

"You have lost your mind, Yu Han. We don't even know each other. Also, you kissed me against my wish. If you do something—" Feng Xi's words died in her mouth as Yu Han hushed her by placing his index finger on her lips.

"You reciprocated my kiss, Feng Xi. You bit my lip then," Yu Han asserted and smirked before pulling his hand back. He wiped the blood that still lingered on his lip and got off the bed.

"You should sleep," Yu Han said and headed to the cupboard.

"How can you even walk? Sister Yun Xi ran away because she thought you were in a wheelchair. Everyone thinks that, including my parents. Why did you lie to us? Why did you destroy my life?" Feng Xi questioned him, tears welling up in her eyes.

Yu Han, clad in a simple t-shirt, proceeded to wear his comfortable trousers. He dropped the towel to the floor as he put on his trousers.

As he closed the cupboard door with a soft click, he turned his gaze towards Feng Xi, his eyes meeting hers.

"Blame your sister for running away from her marriage with me. Ahh, most importantly, blame your dear father, who promised my late grandpa to make his daughter marry me," Yu Han affirmed. Suddenly, both his tone and his facial expressions had turned cold as if he didn't care for her tears.

"What?" Feng Xi frowned at him.

"You heard me already. I don't like to repeat myself," Yu Han proclaimed and asked her to change her clothes.

"I have nothing to wear. My luggage hasn't arrived yet," Feng Xi said while covering her chest with her arm.

Yu Han opened the cupboard again to take a casual pair of clothes for her. Taking out his shirt and the trousers, which she could wear, he walked up to the bed.

"Here, wear these," Yu Han said, handing her his white shirt and black trousers. Feng Xi gazed at him and then took the clothes from him. She dashed into the washroom while Yu Han got into the bed, pulling the duvet up.

After ten minutes, the washroom's door opened and she peeked her head out first. Yu Han arched his eyebrow at her.

"What happened?" Yu Han asked.

"Close your eyes," Feng Xi requested him.

"Why?" Yu Han chuckled.

"Please," Feng Xi urged, furrowing her eyebrows together.

Yu Han shut his eyes and opened them within a second. Feng Xi froze at her place as Yu Han saw her in his white shirt only. The shirt covered her body to her mid-thighs, which made Yu Han gulp.

Feng Xi reacted as if nothing happened and wondered if she should get into the same bed. Her eyes wandered around, but even the couch was small. She would not fit there.

"Why did you stop suddenly? Get into bed. I'm sleepy," Yu Han stated and clapped his hands twice. The lights turned off and the room went into darkness.

Feng Xi, her every movement weighed down by difficulty, eventually reached the bed and slid beneath the sake covers as Yu Han.

She was meticulous about putting as much distance as possible between herself and Yu Han, the tension between them palpable. Her heart raced like a pounding drum, its rhythm reverberating loudly in her ears.

At that moment, an unsettling and heavy silence descended upon the room, enveloping Feng Xi. It felt as though she were the sole occupant of the bedroom, isolated in her thoughts and emotions.

Tears welled up in her eyes and streamed down her cheeks, carrying with them a sense of betrayal that weighed heavily on her heart. She felt betrayed not only by her sister but also by her own family, the weight of their expectations and decisions crushing her dreams.
