The hut had been empty upon her arrival. Perhaps it had always been. Maybe every deep forest was supposed to have a hut.

The rain had fallen quite heavily the night before. It had washed away innocent and guilty blood. When Lee Na woke up, it was already morning. Her belly had made some gruelling sounds she couldn't ignore. She had looked around the forsaken hut for something to quell the hunger but found nothing. Luckily, a dirty container outside the hut had saved some water from the heavy rain of last night. She had gladly scooped that into her dry mouth. She then sat to recollect the previous incidents. In the space of few days, she had lost the people important to her. She was now all alone. She sat there unmoving for hours before she decided to brace up and keep moving before she would die of hunger. There in that hut, she had made a resolution; to avenge her family.

Stepping out of the hut, she had wondered if someone else would one day be in her position and enter this hut. She then made a little sand tower and inscribed her surname - Lee on it. She had wanted it to be some sort of memorandum that would perhaps be revered later.

She had afterwards continued on her journey of no particular destination. The next willing villager to help would do. 'Perhaps I will find favour with the next person i see' she had thought. She only had on her neck the pearl pendant her brother had given her before his death.

In the streets, the tension surrounding Minister Lee's death had faded. According to the news, the traitor and his household had all been executed and all the posters showcasing their pictures and the rewards had already been put down. Therefore, no one had looked in the way of a shabby and unkept kid twice.

And that was how it had begun. From begging the next available market woman, to the shovings, to the beatings, then to the threats; the list had been endless. Then the man who had been on the top of Icrecrest and appeared as a saviour came down to her. She had felt he was her last hope. She had no strength to continue. She had fainted. Besides the pitiful look of the kid, the unknown man had thought 'this little lad is full of raw and unyielding strength, i must not let a talent like this slip away...'

He lifted her in his arms and went away.
