Chapter Two

"Sister, we have company!" Sui He trembled, her lips quivering. Xing was usually the kindest brother, but this time he did not seem pleased at all. His intense gaze made her break out in a cold sweat. He looked truly terrifying in that moment.

"What company?" Yao asked, locking eyes with Xing.

"I was worried something had happened to these two, only to find them leisurely watching these two royals. Once we're out of here, I will give them a proper scolding. It's time for them to get married and stop idling around," Xing muttered. He gestured for them to come over, and they slowly crawled towards him.

"Brother, I can explain," Sui He pleaded fearfully, tugging at Xing's clothes in an attempt to calm his anger.

"Let's go. We'll discuss this once we're done, alright?" Chao Xing said with a hint of care in his voice, despite his lingering anger. Yao and Sui He successfully crawled out and waited for Xing to follow. However, just as Xing was about to make his escape, he was caught by an unfamiliar man.

"My lord, we can settle the score for now. What will you do with these humans? The humans were not supposed to see one from the heavens" The masked men said with a smile. The blue-eyed man used his magic to retrieve the artifact from the demon, his power proving strong enough to injure the masked man whom was bleeding.

Realizing the danger he was in, Xing inwardly thought, "If I don't leave soon, he could easily kill both me and those two. His martial arts and sword skills are so advanced that I wouldn't stand a chance."

Addressing the man, Xing asked, while trying to regain his footing, "Excuse me, sir, but why did you push me like that?" Despite his pain, Xing stood tall and fearlessly confronted the man with blue eyes. "You can't just ignore me because you're dressed fancily. I am Chao Xing, the wealthiest man in Spring village. How dare you push me down and disrespect me? Fine, I will forgive you. You may leave, and I will go my separate way," Xing declared proudly, hastening towards Yao and Sui He, who were still recovering from the man's spell.

The man simply disregarded Xing and approached Sui He and Yao Yao. Observing their fearful expressions, he sighed and raised his hand, emitting a golden light. He uttered some words and waved his hand in front of their faces, causing them to become dizzy and faint. Xing, filled with anger, demanded, "What have you done to them?" However, he received no response. Determined to protect his companions, Xing picked up his sticks and struck the man with blue eyes. To his surprise, the man turned around and repeated the same action, but it had no effect on Xing. He remained conscious, his memories of the evening intact.

Perplexed, the man questioned himself, "How is this possible? Why can't I erase his memories?" He instinctively probed for any signs.

Curiously, the man inquired about Xing's identity. In response, Xing sarcastically remarked on the man's blindness, suggesting that his blue eyes were a result of his inability to perceive the truth. Irritated by this exchange, the man unsheathed his sword and inflicted a wound on Xing's wrist. In pain, Xing clarified that he was indeed a human, twenty-two years old, and that the two individuals accompanying him were his sisters.

As Xing's blood fell onto a nearby plant, it immediately withered, while the tip of the man's sword rusted like ordinary iron. Surprised by this occurrence, the man pondered the situation internally. He ultimately decided to render Xing unconscious by striking his neck. Contemplating the young man's face with a mixture of emotions, the man resolved to leave. However, he was compelled to return when he noticed a purple jade pendant hidden within Xing's clothing. Only Xing knew of its existence. As the man reached out to retrieve the pendant, he was forcefully repelled by a potent energy. This incident left him questioning the source of such power emanating from a mere human.

Choosing to disregard the man for the time being, he retreated. Two sets of golden feathers emerged, emitting a brilliant light. The man skillfully concealed the radiance through his magic. Momentarily regaining consciousness, Xing caught a glimpse of the man's true form before slipping back into unconsciousness.

Several hours later, at sunrise, five villagers who had come to collect water from the nearby waterfall stumbled upon Xing and his companions, all still unconscious. Recognizing Mr. Chao Xing, the wine seller, one of the villagers expressed concern over his prone position. The group of five individuals walked towards the three of them. "Hey, it's really them! Sui He and Yao Yao appear to be fine, but Xing has a small amount of blood on his lips," Miss Ming reported.

"Let us assist them and bring them home," one of the men suggested.

"Mother, I have informed everyone of the news! They promised to notify us once they find Xing and my siblings. Please try to calm down and rest," Bai expressed his concern to his mother.

"Bai, I cannot rest until I lay my eyes on those three. Xing may not cause much trouble and is quite responsible, but Sui He and Yao Yao can be quite immature. I fear they may have gotten themselves into trouble," Fen Hua, the mother of Xing, Bai, and Yao, worriedly spoke.

"Mr. Bai! Mr. Bai, we have found your brother and sisters," Miss Ming exclaimed, out of breath from running a long distance.

"What?" Bai exclaimed, rushing to meet them. As he stepped outside, he found all three of them unconscious, appearing weak and exhausted.

"What happened to them?" Bai asked, his gaze fixed on their faces.

"We do not know. We simply encountered them at the riverside," Miss Ming explained.
