Filming the Ad

Majeta was excited. Why you ask? She finally got the permission to film the ad with Akane, there were just a few problems with the products she planned for her...

...she wanted to promote products for blind people, a market vastly untapped by today's society.

Why should we care about our own disabilities, when we can compensate it with our awesome quirks! And forget about the people that doesn't have it lucky as them.

Since the emergence of quirks, the density of disabled people sank dramatically. Society didn't really care much about them, but they didn't really help them either.

Blind, deaf, mute, quirkless, all kinds of disabled people were thrown into the same shelf and society didn't care three moments to look deeper into it. Why should they, if today is all about raising new super heroes?

As long as they don't stand in the way they can live in the sidelines if they want to live, was societies current view on all of them.

But at the end they all are going to ignore the deep potential in some them. Akane was such an example. No quirk, no sight, and yet she made it so high up. Majeta didn't know, but something was different with the girl, she seemed like she could accomplish anything she wants in life, Majeta knew instantly that she should cling to her for quick success.

Currently Majeta was standing in front of Akane, she was extremely nervous. She absolutely needed the permission of her to launch the product, else she could expect to get sued heavily for it, especially with the mother behind her.

"Majeta, are you feeling well? I mean you are standing in front of me for the past five minutes, sweating profusely? Should I bring you to the infirmary?"

Majeta refused this fast, if she now missed the timing, she was sure to never get the chance again!

"NO! No..., it's about the product I want to use your face for."

Akane tilted her head cutely, resulting in her free hanging hair to get tangled in her face.

"What the hell, why is my hair suddenly in my face? Is it too long, should I cut it?"

Majeta just got more nervous at that outburst, she really was very nervous currently.

"Nah, I shouldn't cut my hair that took seven years for me to grow, they are a proud part of me after all!"

So instead of cutting it later, she chose to bind it with a hair band into a high ponytail, letting some bangs hang in front of her face. She looked really cool with that hairstyle. Majeta had to gulp upon this new sight of Akane, even now her hair almost reached her waist and these few bangs in her face really had something.

"What about your product, Majeta?"

After hearing this Majeta returned to the world again.

"Right! My product, well it's..."

"It's?"

"I want to make products for blind people, you are just the most famous girl that I know of that is blind."

"So, I should test your product and see how good it is?"

"Yes and no."

Akane tilted her head again, this time not resulting into a mess.

"And?"

Majeta pulled a little book out of her back, Akane had a premonition.

"This is the test product, it's a note sheet collection of your pieces, researched through sound and audio, easy enough so beginner can learn them. It's in braille, so blind people can read it."

Akane nodded and took the product. Majeta started to sweat more intensely. She hoped that she is going to accept the obvious proposal.

"I can't accept it. This isn't what I had in mind, as you proposed to me with the idea that should be your poster girl."

Majeta looked down dejectedly. She knew that to Akane her own pieces are very important to her, but she hoped that she would be kind enough to share it with the world.

"Take this instead, I am sure this is a thousand times better than the cheap copy you made with sound analysis!"

Majeta was surprised, very much even so. Akane already predicted her idea and prepared this in up front for her.

"You knew that I wanted to make products for blind people AND that I wanted to use your work to promote it!"

Akane just chuckled mysteriously at Majeta's reaction, she found it amusing.

"Whatever you are talking about."

"Hey have you heard about that new idol lately?"

"You mean Seigi Akane? Of course, I heard about her! The famous prodigy that stormed the music charts in a night! I even heard that one of her tracks made in number one on the charts in Japan!"

"Just Japan? It's fighting for the first place in the world with some other song and that's not even the end of it! Even now most of the songs in her album are in the charts, with the worst still in the hundreds, her music is great!"

"Yeah, I know. Ehm, it's embarrassing, but what was the name of the number one theme again? I am not really a fan of her music."

"Really?! You have to give it a try, it's so great! The name of the piece is 'An unexpected Fun Date', and it really portrays the feeling of it, right? Well anyways, I wanted to speak about something else about her."

"You can't mean her ad that is currently trending everywhere on social media!"

"Yeah, exactly that. Do you really think she is blind? I think it's just a clever marketing strategy to polish her image, I mean, don't blind people have dull grey eyes? Hers were all colorful."

"You pay attention to that? Let me say, I'll quickly search for the ad, come here to watch it."

The person whipped out a phone, waving at their friend to look over their shoulder to watch the ad.

The ad started with a black screen, the picture of the scene slowly fading in. It was a completely white room, the camera slowly rolled all over it, slowly but surely showing its entirety to the watcher of the ad, then suddenly the music of a piano could be heard.

In a fast motion, the camera moved to the source of sound, revealing a white grand piano, shaped in the form of a wing. Showing that Akane, in a white beautiful dress, played a slow, sad piece, a little bit as if a heavy weight was removed from her shoulders.

But it was short and interrupted, as Akane acted as if she was surprised that the camera was behind her.

"Oh! I didn't see you there, literally. I am blind after all."

In this moment Akane opened her eyes, revealing two beautiful green marbles, that mesmerized the two friends watching the ad a bit, but the doubtful one of them got out of it really fast.

"See! Two beautiful green eyes and even so obvious! As if she could be blind with these eyes."

She got slapped at the back of the hand as a third person appeared, sipping their juice.

"If you would have watched closely, you would know that your point isn't prove enough. If you watch closely you see that her eyes don't reflect light back, resulting in that duller look on her face, this is just compensated, because of her natural beauty, so that most idiots like you won't see, because they won't really pay attention on the very little details."

The person rubbed the back of their head.

"Yeah, you might be right, but that won't explain how she can still do the things, most people with sight can do!"

The person that got that thrown at their head just now, just scoffed.

"And you want to be a fan of her? If you didn't know, she has that thing called echolocation, now let's continue with the ad, I haven't watched it yet."

And so, the three friends continued with the ad.

"You might be wondering what this ad is about, and why I am filming this, but let me tell you a bit about myself."

The girl completely turned around, with the front of her body completely in the sight of the watcher, before continuing.

"I was born blind, never really understanding what people meant with 'red', 'green', or other things that are natural for everyone with sight, I grew up, more often than not being confused what people meant with some things."

The girl took a deep breath.

"More often than not did I cause trouble, because I forgot telling people that I am blind, resulting in a few embarrassing moments in my life."

She scratched her cheek and smiled wryly, showing how embarrassed she was.

"Especially with my music tutor, I completely forgot telling him about my condition! Ending up with two really frustrating weeks where he tried to teach me. This would have continued, if he didn't say as a passing remark that only someone blind could have such trouble."

After saying this she laughed beautifully, showing that her charm truly was her face at the end.

"Well, he found out in that moment and adjusted my lessons to it, showing that I had quite the talent for music, now that I think about it, if he never found out about it, I might have never planned to be an idol!"

A few moments of silence after these words, so the watcher could digest the newly get information, then she suddenly clapped loudly.

"But you aren't here to hear about me! This ad is about my own music sheet collection, written by me!"

She suddenly pulled a little book from behind her, showing a colorful cover sheet with the title 'Learning an Instrument, with Seigi Akane: The Piano'.

"It's a little book, filled with my emotions, feelings, hopes and all of that in text form, represented by the little texts right before the music sheets actually starts! The best part is, it's all written in braille, so that my fellow disabled people can get some tips and tricks about how I play this instrument!"

Akane gasped for a moment, covering her mouth, just as if she just forgot something.

"Oh! I almost forgot, tehee!"

She rubbed the back of her head, stretching her tongue out.

"Of course, we have copies with normal font too, so that everyone has access to it, can't discriminate against people after all! And look! The font is printed in a way, that you can feel the outline of each letter! So blind people can read this too, if they bought the wrong copy!"

The girl said these words with shining eyes, kind of looking in the wrong direction due to her excitement.

"Akane, here in this direction!"

Could be heard from the background, from the filming team.

"Oh! Ups! Well, anyways. Everyone that bought a copy of my various instrument tutorials can get it signed at this location! I am excited to see you! Or maybe not, but it would make me happy if you would appear, would make me quite upset if nobody is there for me to sign their books, would be embarrassing too."

Silence, an 'Akane' could be heard from behind the stage.

"Oh right! That was it, I hope to see you soon, bye!"

She waved at the camera, before it turned off. The three friends were silent, staring at each other's eyes for a moment.

"Who else wants to learn an instrument? If you want you raise your hand."

The three friends raised their hand, as well as the rest of the classroom. They didn't watch the full ad yet, but now that they have seen it, they were captured.

Right after the film shoot:

"Akane, why did you act so ditzy? This isn't like you!"

"Appears a lot cuter if I did, it's especially enhanced with this look of mine, don't you think so too?"

Akane spun around playfully in her dress, enjoying being herself.

"Well, you are right, it certainly made the ad a lot better and personal."

Majeta said her thoughts out loud, mainly because she wanted to her Akanes opinion on her take.

"Well, that's one reason, but at times I like to act as a girl with fault, after all, being perfect is a fault too, Majeta."

Akane said these words with a pair of red eyes, intimidating Majeta a bit. She wanted to ask about it, but Akane already walked to the dressing rooms.

"By the way, don't forget my payment! With this ad you surely will win the competition between your siblings."

Majeta was a bit astounded that Akane chose now of all time to talk about that, but Majeta just replied with a confident smile back at Akane.

"Don't overestimate yourself, mongrel! After all, you aren't perfect, just as you said!"

Both girls laughed at each other's antics.
