Chapter 13: I am the Future Mistress of This Place

Suddenly, his deep and pleasant voice rang above her head, but Sophia only felt her hair standing on end. Could this man read minds? How did he know she was secretly cursing him?

"Alright, you should be getting to the real business now!"

"Real business... what real business?" Sophia, who was stealthily trying to grab her clothes to leave, couldn't help but shudder and retreated warily upon hearing his words.

Leo unceremoniously pushed her backwards, and in a fraction of a second, she found herself trapped between the cold wall and his fiery chest.

"Of course, it's about lowering your stance to please and serve me!" Leo said nonchalantly, smiling. This was his theme for the day.

Sophia was utterly resentful and terrified, attempting to stay calm, "I'm sure CEO Leo didn't keep me here just because I had pleased you before?"

Leo's face closed in on hers, "I've told you, don't think too highly of yourself. Remember your place; you are just a woman who sought me out for a favor."

Sophia felt another wave of heartache.

This cruel man, where had she offended him for him to trample on her dignity like this over and over again? Was it because she had challenged him at the gambling table that day? Or was he just naturally a cold-hearted man that chilled to the bone?

"Aren't you going to do it?" His voice turned into a judgment from the depths of hell. Her legs and arms had long been numbed by his restraint.

Under the roof, one must bow the head.

Unwillingly, Sophia pressed her lips against his.

She told herself, just for ten seconds, and he would pay for everything he had done to her just now.

Leo, however, pried open her teeth, and with a flick of his tongue, he rolled out the sleeping pill she had hidden under her tongue, accurately spitting it into a trash can a meter away.

"Did I ever tell you, the thing I hate the most is being drugged?"

Tears streamed down Sophia's cheeks; she knew her night was over.

At 3 AM, Leo lay in bed, watching the woman seated at the foot of the bed, her head buried in her knees, without feeling the pleasure of clearing his name or regaining his dignity from her.

Recalling how she had endured, only to be forced to beg him and then break down crying in the end, he felt an uncharacteristic irritation rising within him.

Ha, he was actually feeling pity for her, Leo, for the first time, felt pity for a woman.

Trying to fall asleep with his eyes closed, the image of the woman curling up at the end of the bed, trembling and crying, lingered in his mind for a long time. He even ended up covering her with a blanket, as if possessed.

The next day, Sophia saw her own bruises in the bathroom and swore silently that besides saving her brother, her second mission was to send Leo to jail.

Beyond the anger, she felt extreme regret.

She had underestimated Leo's strength; the top international female detective was nothing in front of him.

But, she wasn't someone who gave up easily.

Moving forward, she would restrain herself and work hard to improve.

Downstairs, Sophia didn't see Leo, but did see Molly.

Feeling moody, Sophia ignored her and sat down at the dining table directly.

Two minutes later, the maids brought in a lavish breakfast, aromatic milk, and a fresh and beautiful fruit platter.

Molly watched this scene, dumbfounded. "What is she that you serve her so attentively?"

The servants didn't dare answer back, all avoiding eye contact with her.

Sophia scoffed internally while eating. She had successfully barged into Leo's room the day before, and hadn't left all night, which maid dare not serve her cautiously?

This was another reason why she risked entering Leo's room, though she hadn't expected the cost to be so great.

People like Leo, a deity difficult to provoke, and these maids who bullied the weak and feared the strong, blowing hot and cold, Sophia didn't want to deal with the servants' difficulties and calculations on top of handling Leo.

Molly sat across Sophia furiously and ordered the maids, "I also want breakfast, and make it more lavish than hers."

Five minutes passed, but no one moved.

Sophia couldn't help but want to laugh.

"Hey, what did she do that you're all so afraid of her?" Molly was nearly frantic, "You all need to understand, she is just a woman who threw herself at his door. Leo will get tired of her soon, I am the future mistress of this place!"

Finally, two maids timidly brought breakfast, only adding an extra fried egg to Sophia's portion.

Sophia calmly finished her meal, feeling the soreness in her body ease slightly.

The butler, busy directing the cleaning, saw Sophia had finished eating and approached, "Miss Sophia, the young master said you will be staying in his room from now on, and told me to move your luggage in."

Sophia clenched her fists hard, teeth grit in hatred.

Leo, did he want to torment her like last night? This demon!

She forgot, this was the self-awareness she should have as a woman who presented herself at his door.
