Chapter-6

"What about this one?" I asked. "No way," Zach said, looking at the American Hairless Terrier puppy. "But he's so cute," I whined, petting it. He rolled his eyes, "It's not,"

Right now, we were at the dog pound trying to choose a puppy for our project. Zach being his usual self didn't like any puppy that I've chosen because apparently the puppies I chose were all 'ugly'. He didn't even bother choosing one.

"Fine," I made my way to the next small cage where sat a really cute pug. "What about this one?" I asked excitedly pointing at it.

"Out of all the puppies in here, you chose that ugly pug?" He asked, in disbelief as he glared at the cutie.

I gasped and pressed my hands over the pug's ears, "Zach! Don't be rude!" He pinched the bridge of his nose, "Michelle, we're not taking that."

"But-"

"No," He said deadpan, making me huff, "Jerk," I muttered to myself and got up.

I looked around at the small cages when I finally saw it. It's cute squinty black eyes stood out on the white fur, with its brown nose and adorable tiny frame.

"This is the one!" I squealed pointing to it. Mr. Scott's sister took out the Shiba Inu puppy, from its cage and handed it to me.

I gently took the puppy in my hand and looked at Zach; he smiled at the puppy.

"He's so cute," I muttered as the puppy looked at me while wagging its tail. "I'm going to name it Aiko," I said, "Aiko," Zach repeated, "Sounds good," "How old is he ma'am?" he asked. "He's two months old, and my name is Cara," Mr. Scott's sister AKA Cara said.

We headed to the small desk where we had to file some information and buy Aiko his food. I struggled to hold him and write at the same time. "Give it to me," Zach said and gently took him from me.

We exited the dog pound and met with our friends. Eric was holding a beagle puppy while his partner, Mackenzie was holding the dog's food bag.

"Hey guys," I said to both of them. Eric looked back at me, offering me a cute boyish smile. He put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug, "Hey Michelle!" He pulled back and looked down at Mackenzie, "This is Mackenzie, my fake wife for the project and this is Dexter."

Dexter was a white beagle with brown ears, black eyes, and her white tail wagging happily. He leaned out of Eric's arm towards my pup and they just stared at each other while wagging their tails

Suddenly, Zach's arm landed around my waist and he pulled me back to his hard chest. "I'm Zach Cameron, Michelle's husband and this is our puppy, Aiko," He said, with a big smile. I felt my face turn red at what he just said.

Eric was back to glaring at Zach. They both had a stare down, eyeing one another coldly. Why the fudge are they behaving this way? Mackenzie and I shared a nervous.

"Hey guys!" We heard a familiar voice shout, the boys looked away from each other at Jen who was followed by an annoyed looking Austin, carrying a German shepherd puppy and the food bag.

"Jenny, will you hold her? I'm already holding so much!" Austin scolded her, Jen rolled her eyes at him and said, "You're such a lazy ass," She took the puppy from him and turned back to us, "Hey guys, this is Luna my puppy-"

"Your puppy?" Austin asked before scoffing, "I'm the one carrying her around and I was the one who chose her," Jen rolled her eyes, "This is Luna, our puppy," "And, I'm Austin Jen's fake husband," He said giving all of us a warm smile, "Unfortunately," he added, receiving a smack from Jen.

We talked for a while before we went back home. "What was that?" I asked Zach as we got in the car. "What was what?" He asked obliviously of what I'm talking about "Back there with Eric," I said making him roll his eyes.

"I don't know what problem Cooper has with me, he just glares at me whenever I'm seen with you."

"You need to stop being a jerk around my friends," I said followed by a bark from Aiko, "See! My baby agrees with me," I scratched his neck, Zach pouted like a little kid, "You're supposed to be on my side Aiko," he said shaking his head at Aiko.

_______

When I reached home, my first thought was homework. I have lots of homework to finish and I haven't even started.

I quickly got down to, do my homework, while Aiko sits on the ground playing with my scarf. I don't have any problem with that unless he pees on it.

"What're you doing?" I heard Zach ask, he was taking a shower. "Homework, something that you don't do," I said and turned around.

I instantly regretted my decision.

Zach only had his sweatpants on as he rubbed a towel through his tousled wet hair. Water ran down his muscular chest. He's muscular but not too much, his upper body lined with perfectly chiseled muscles. His six packs were not helping at all, and his v-line was out in open.

Shit, I shouldn't stare, Michelle look away! My mind said to me but my eyes were doing the total opposite, the continued staring at the Greek God in front of me.

Just the sight of him, half naked made me blush. I turned around quickly and cleared my throat, "Wear a shirt, asshole." "Why? Is my body distracting you?" I scoffed. "I've seen better Cameron," I stated. It was a lie but he didn't have to know that.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, I felt his presence near me and suddenly I was turned around on the circular stool. I gasped when I saw Zach too close to me; his cocky expression was replaced with a serious look. He kneeled down in front of me, so we were the same eye level –not really since he was tall in compared to my 5'5 height. He's probably 6 feet something.

He leaned closer as if we weren't already close enough. His nose brushed against mine, a droplet of water rolled down stopping at the bridge of his nose. My hands were itching to wipe it away but that would be weird. My whole body stiffened when his soft fingers brushed back my hair so my neck was left completely exposed.

He kept his hands on my shoulder and slowly ran them down my arm; he grabbed my waist and pulled my body closer to him. I was on the edge of stool.

What is this dumbass doing? And I didn't fail to notice how our bodies were flushed against each other or how we were breathing hard. His alluring hazel eyes burned into my grey ones. I could see his lashes, those thick lashes that I'm jealous of. I need to ask him later on, how he has such thick lashes, so guys even need lashes? They already look stunning. His warm breath was caressing my ear. I could smell his shampoo and honestly he smelled so good.

My thoughts instantly scattered when he moved his face right next to my neck.

Holy shit! What is going on? As much as I wanted to push him away, I liked the warm feeling of him near me.

He places a soft kiss on my skin. A shot of electricity travelled though my body. His lips move down caressing every part of my neck, he leaves a trail of kisses along my neck. I gasped at the sensation.

Zach continued to places soft kisses until he reached my ear. He places a kiss and stops, his lips don't move thought it hurts, I enjoy the pain this time. He looked like he was not in full control of himself at that moment.

"Zach," I whispered out, my eyes automatically closing.

In an abrupt moment, his lips—those full, sensuous lips—grazed the soft spot behind my ear. My shivers locked my muscles tight. My mind was going haywire as he moved up, nibbling my ear lobe. I bite my lips hard, trying not to moan.

I cleared my throat. "Zach, w-what are you doing?"

I failed in the attempt to make it sound firm; instead it was barely above a whisper.

"You might've seen better…" he whispered seductively, "But this is the best you'd ever see," He placed another kiss behind my ear before taking a step back. The warmth disappeared which made me frown.

The room was suddenly too hot, goose bumps covered my whole body, and I left out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I kept a hand over my running heart; it was running so fast, I bet Zach could've heard it.

I opened my eyes, Zach was still standing shirtless but this time a million dollar smirk graced his face. What the hell just happened? He turned his back towards me as he went to grab a shirt from the closet.

"You look sexy when you blush," He said.

I could hear the smirk in his voice. It's nothing; he's just trying to annoy me. Yeah that's it. I shook my head and pushed the thoughts away before turning back to do my homework. But this whole time I can't stop thinking of what happened a few minutes ago.
