As I saw the two's silhouette disappear from sight, my face became serious.

It has been a week and I basically adapted to life here. It's time I start thinking about what would happen in the future, as they are really worrying.

I walked inside the shrine and placed my ceremonial bell by the altar. Afterwards, I then changed my clothes to a white gray t-shirt printed with a panda 🐼 and brown khaki pants. I also wore a black hoodie with white lines.

Walking outside, I made my way to the nearest internet cafe. There are no computers or such in the shrine, even in our house.

This is like the first time 'I' went out to go to somewhere else besides the time for groceries or school. Ruka was more conservative and stays at the shrine most of the time practicing his swings or keeping the shrine clean.

Before long, I arrived in front of the internet cafe. On the way here I had people casting brief glances my way. Beauty is sin as they say.

Paying at the counter, I went to my computer and sat down. I need to learn the world's current situation and based on that I'll plan my next move accordingly. Where else would I find brief summaries of information other than Goodle and @channel.

"This is bad." I bit my nails as I thought about what I gathered.

I searched for science institutes, companies, and government bodies. My findings were more than concerning.

SERN exists instead of CERN, which guarantees that I'm in the Steins;Gate anime world. But then I dug deeper and found others that are not in the anime but were in the Visual Novel. This made things difficult.

SERN is the least concern. What I am worried about is the Council of 500 which is the one behind them. The council was not spoken of at all in the anime adaption but based on the Visual Novel (VS), they are the one behind SERN.

I wouldn't even know about them if it wasn't for my plot knowledge. They are such a hidden organization that controls the world from the shadows.

One more concerning thing about them is that they are one of antagonistic organizations of the Science Adventure Series.

If this is the Visual Novel World of the SciAdv, then I'm into deep shit right now. If they ever get to know that I'm a reincarnated person who has knowledge about possible futures, I'm either going straight to the lab to be cut up or brainwashed.

"Sigh... This is troublesome. I need to find some sort of way to protect myself from them."

I will come into contact with them sooner or later, it is inevitable as I am one of Okabe's friends. He's the inventor of the Time Machine and the one who has Reading Steiner, we're bound to be involved with SERN.

I need to be prepared if I ever needed to deal with them. I expect this to be difficult as they have in their arsenal the Visual Rebuilding Tech and others that can make me question my own existence.

"Aghh... This is frustrating. Okabe-san's journey through world lines will be by summer this year. I have too little time to prepare."

I need to hide my abnormality from them or at least be on an equal ground enough to negotiate with them. In that way I can be safe.

"But how would I do it? Except my knowledge of the future and vast anime knowledge I have nothing else."

Fuck this! All other reincarnated individuals had their own cheats, why wouldn't I have one?

"Another thing that is bothering me right now. Am I a unique case or did other versions of Rukako from other worldlines also change?"

This is a headache! All these complicated things are giving me a headache.

I am now walking back home. I thought about what I would do and decided to just go with the flow. Plans can change with every situations so I would just act accordingly.

That doesn't mean I would just stay idle though. I would do my best to gather knowledge and skills that I can use in the future.

This past week, I noticed that I had a much clearer memory and that I can recall them perfectly. I can even recall the Boku no Pico episodes I watched with my friend in my past life. I really would've preferred it if I forget that shit T - T.

This is not a cheat though in my view. It only gave me photographic memory nothing else. I would have preferred anything else like Rimuru's Great Sage.

Anyways, I am going to use my vast media knowledge from my last life to make money here. And while I was making money I would study mechanical engineering and programming cause I would need it if I want to keep up with this scientifically advanced world.

I would then use the money I get from my media knowledge to fund my projects. This way I can do things privately and slightly low-key so I won't attract the council's attention too early.

But I don't know where to start. I have too many to choose from. Music, novels, movies, heck even memes! I'm from 2023 which is part of an age where memes and anime were booming like fire crackers.

"Sigh... Where am I gonna start?"

At this moment, I accidentally bumped to someone. I immediately instinctively apologized to them while bowing my head.

"Sorry."

But just as I was planning to move on they suddenly grabbed my hand. I looked at them and saw that it was Mayuri.

"It was you, Mayuri. Sorry I didn't notice." I scratched the back of my head awkwardly as I said.

"Hmm~ It's okay. Mayushii wasn't hurt or anything." Mayuri just shook her head and said with a smile.

"Are you going home now, Mayuri?" I asked her with a faint smile.

She shook her head and said, "No. I'm going to the lab."

"The lab? Since when?" I thought it would be by next month that the founding of the lab would happen.

"Last year before Christmas. Why?" She said and asked me as she tilted her head.

"Ah- Nande mo nai. It's nothing, don't worry about it. I was just curious. Haha, I'll be on my way now."

"Bye bye, Ruka-kun! You can stop by the lab anytime if you want!" She waved at me as she said goodbye.

"I'll keep it in mind!" I waved at her in return as I left.

I need to hurry. Time is ticking.
