A Growing Concern

As the Protector and his people began their day, trouble was brewing on the outskirts of D.C.

As it turns out, Skattlkin are pretty tough. The zombie-like creatures had begun to resurface after their volcanic ash sleep. They had been seen across the globe, but nothing like this. An army lying in wait for the opportune time to strike. Most of the former US's east coast had fallen to them, and should there be a queen present, nothing was going to stop them.

They shuffled their way toward Fortress Americana, a horde, far outnumbering anything the Fortress had. As they reached the gates, gunners opened fire on the horde. However, with the queen's roar, the horde went into a frenzy tossing themselves at the wall. Alarms inside the bunker began to sound off as soldiers and warriors alike rushed to see what was causing the commotion. Once they were outside, it was clear, Fortress Americana would indefinitely fall.

"Attention, attention, This is the Protector of Ottawa...Abandon the Bunker."

The public went into a panic, grabbing up supplies and resources as they rushed to evacuate.

"Liberty Bell, you and I will by buying everyone sometime." said the Protector as he suited up in his BFPA-100 that had been repaired and combat ready for sometime. As the bunker shook, Liberty Bell and the Protector rose from the bunker and began their attack. Lasers and hammers took down Skattlkin left and right. All the while, everyone split up, running after some idea of safety, some place they'd dreamt of, scattering the group across the country once more. Only a few the Star Spangled Heroes were left defending the bunker.

"Liberty Bell, begin course, 61350. We're bugging out, there are way too many of them."

As Liberty Bell activated her flight pack and the Protector activated his, they began their journey somewhere. They were followed by Jarrin and Juno in the Enola Gay, the Overlord and the Preacher, and the others as they rushed away from the collapsing bunker. Everything they'd built was gone, and they knew they'd need shelter and food asap, but where of all places.
