The chairs are gold.
When Luka pulls one out for me in the small opulent dining room, I can't help but stare at it for a few extra beats before sitting. It takes everything I have not to roll my eyes, and the only reason I resist is that I have decided Matvey, who has yet to grace us with his presence, is going to like me. It's best if I get the attitude under control now.
"Never sat in a gold chair before, Kisa?" Luka asks with a smirk.
Luka is acting entirely at ease like this is just any other day for him. He's still charming and friendly. I imagine he is around Matvey enough that the transition between his true self and the self he projects here is seamless.
It helps me fall into character, too, because Luka is a friendly face. He is someone I can trust in truth, and there is no reason to act any differently about that around Matvey.
