The date concluded!

An hour has passed since the fight between Gwen and Clive. The king has invited them to the castle. After all, after witnessing the fight, he has to make sure that they aren't offended. The beings known a harbingers are elusive. No one knows too much about them.

Clive and his entire entourage along with the otherworlders. The banquet hall is being used as a lot of people are present.

Of course, other than the McCarthy siblings, everyone is wary of Clive. Especially Monica, who had another bad memory of Clive.

"Master, why are we still here?" (Hazel)

"It's civility, Hazel. We have inconvenienced them greatly this time. We need to apologize for the trouble. And, that goes for you as well, Gwen." (Clive)

Clive sighs. Gwen has always been perceived as a calm and mature person for her age. Since early childhood, she has managed to make everyone think of her like that. But, Clive knew about her truth.

Gwen is extremely childish. So much so that her mature personality seems fake. And she only showed her real self to Clive. She was interested in him since their first meeting.

"Hey Clive, did I interrupt your date?" (Gwen)

"I guess it's too late to ask that. But it was partly my fault." (Clive)

"Don't worry master. It was fun. Besides, I agreed to come here as well. It's a miscalculation on our part." (Hazel)

"Honey, I am worried about Tiana and Eden. They are alone at home." (Aura)

"Should I bring them here?" (Clive)

He thinks. And the king arrives.

"Your majesty, can I bring my daughter here? She is alone at home." (Clive)

Clive stands up and asks. The king is bewildered for a moment but he comes to his senses and gives him permission. Clive teleporta both of them to the banquet hall.

"Papa, how did we get here?" (Eden)

"Master, you really can do anything, can't you?" (Tiana)

They both are suddenly brought to an unknown place. But instead of freaking out, Eden and Tiana asked how they were brought. But they both realized it soon enough.

"Why did you leave Tiana behind when you all came here?" (Clive)

"Well, she isn't exactly ready to participate in things like fights. So, we left her at home with Eden." (Amaryllis)

Well, that's a valid argument. So Clive didn't ask anything more about that. Tiana and Eden were given chairs to sit beside Amaryllis and Aura.

"Gwen, how about you start? You are the one responsible for half of the commotion." (Clive)

"Sis, what happened to you that day? You were acting all weird after Clive left that day." (Trevor)

Gwen sighs. But she begins her explanation.

"After Clive left that day, my predecessor started to make a fuss. I am extremely sorry, you majesty. I suddenly cut off your arm like that." (Gwen)

She gets up and bows her head. The king is flustered but he forgave her nonetheless. He has no choice but to forgive her.

"You cut off his arm as well. It seems that we have been a little too rough with him." (Clive)

"My predecessor, the previous harbinger of life, was married to the previous harbinger of death. Clive has inherited that position and I have inherited the position of harbinger of life. But our predecessors have yet to settle their marital problems." (Gwen)

Then Clive and Gwen get up and bow down.

"We are sorry for dragging all of you in this."

Their predecessors put them in a tough spot. But the king did forgive them. However, a few questions arose.

"Sis, can you start from explaining what a harbinger is? I get it that you are the harbinger of life and Clive is the harbinger of death. But what does that mean?" (Trevor)

"A fine question indeed, Trevor. I know why I became the harbinger of death. But your sister is a different matter. How about she explains it herself?" (Clive)

Trevor and everyone else look at Gwen with expectations. Gwen is suddenly the center of spotlight.

"Fine! I became the harbinger of life as soon as I was born. My predecessor told me that I was the most suitable to become the harbinger of life. So I was chosen the moment I was born.

She has existed alongside me since then. And my initial meeting with Clive gave me the idea. He was bound to become the harbinger of death. And we began our plan.

We groomed Clive to become the perfect harbinger of death. And a sacrifice was necessary for that.

That molester who broke into our school was lured there by me. I lured him there and had him die at Clive's hands." (Gwen)

Everyone gasps. Especially the classmates. After all, they all thought of Clive as a cold blooded killer. However, it was Gwen who orchestrated the plan.

"So, you were the one who started it. I see. But why did you die if you were the harbinger of life? You could have survived the attack." (Clive)

"A good point. But fate is random. You know that harbingers cannot interfere with fate. I could see the attack from happening. But my fate, Gwen McCarthy's fate was to die in the attack. Even my powers as a harbinger couldn't go against fate.

You are the only one who can probably go against fate, Clive." (Gwen)

"I don't think so." (Clive)

"You have already gone against fate. And that thing that is always with you, she was the reason my predecessor started making a fuss." (Gwen)

"So it was just a jealousy issue." (Clive)

Everyone sighs. They discussed a lot of things. The king gave his word that he would not do anything to harm Clive and his family. Gwen told them that she will go with Clive.

"You know that I am living in another person's home." (Clive)

"I don't think mom will mind though." (Fay)

"Fay, you are supposed to refuse her. Why are you encouraging her?" (Clive)

"What's the harm, honey? If anything, we should welcome her with open hands." (Aura)

"Yes. She is someone who understands how wonderful master is and is also related to him." (Hazel)

Clive sighs. What's going on?

"Maybe I should talk with Fiona once more. This will be too much for that house." (Clive)

"Clive, I am sure you haven't forgotten what happened last time." (Fay)

Clive shivers at that. Fiona was terrifying.

"Then our business here is concluded. We should go home." (Clive)

"I am coming with you. I need to know where you are living. Then I can move in efficiently." (Gwen)

And this is how Clive and Hazel's first date concluded. It introduced a new character and complicated the story even more. Next is the map chapter. Clive will leave the city and travel to a neighboring city.
