Chapter 3:A fairy named Candy

Vlad stepped out of the dorm building and walked around. The more he looked, the more fascinated he became. It was already getting dark and the lights from different areas became brighter.

Although some of the buildings looked ancient , they were still modern at the same time, they had vehicles and big buildings and stores.

Vlad sighted a convenience store. "Let's see what they have here." He said walking over to the store.

Vlad had a sweet tooth, so he was praying there would at least be chocolate.

He walked in and looked around. He smiles widely as he sights a section just for candies and chocolate. He walked around and picked up different kinds. Then headed up to the cashier to pay when heard the boy in front of the cashier.

"Huh? Where did my wallet go?" The boy said, looking all over his pocket and his backpack. The boy panicked while looking.

Vlad walked over. "Put it on this card." Vlad said to the cashier.

"Huh? You don't have to." The boy said nervously.

The cashier collected the card and swiped it. Afterwards, he gave the card back to him. Vlad looked at the boy and smiled.

He looked about the same age as Vlad, who looked about eighteen years old, but since they were mystical beings, they probably aged slower than humans. Vlad thought.

Although the boy was smaller than him. "Thank you very much." The boy said as the cashier handed him a paper bag containing what he bought.

Vlad also got his own paper bag with all his chocolate and goodies.

They walked out together. "I can't thank you enough. I must have left my wallet back in my dorm room." The boy said nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

"It's fine honestly. I just got here so I was looking around." Vlad said.

"Really? You're Vlad Dracula right?" The boy said, taking Vlad by surprise.

"How did you know?" Vlad asked, shocked.

"We are in the same class and of course everyone knows you, especially after the incident. I'm glad to see you're fine now." He smiled.

"My name is Candy, I'm a fairy." He said stretching out his hand for a hand shake.

"A fairy?" Vlad said surprised as this boy, Candy looked very human. He didn't really have any distinct features like other creatures. He looked nerdy with his glasses and backpack and colorful shirt.

"What did you mean about this incident?" Vlad asked curious as to what this fairy knew. After Zelda refused to tell him more about it, maybe talking to a student would lead him somewhere. He thought.

"Huh? Why are you asking me that?" Candy asked, confused.

"Well to tell you the truth, I'm not the real Vlad. I'm a human who died and somehow woke up in this body, now I can't even go back to the human world." He scoffed, saying without much thought. "There's no way he'd believe me."

He looked up to see Candy whose eyes lit up at Vlad's words. Vlad took a step back. "What's with this boy?"

"You're human?!" Candy exclaimed excitedly. "I knew it! Humans are real!" Vlad stood there confused and lost at the sudden change. What was this young man going on about?

"You believe me?" Vlad raised an eyebrow.

"Of course! This means my research was right all along." Candy grabbed Vlad by the shoulder with a proud smile on his face.

"Research? Hold up now." Vlad slowly backed up, taking a step back.

"You don't think I'm crazy or are you just crazy?" Vlad said. Candy laughed loudly, creeping Vlad even more.

"I think I might have made a big mistake. Let's run." Vlad decided.

"You're in luck young human-vampire because the person standing in front of you right now is none other than the one and only great researcher-" Candy paused.

"Huh? Where did he go?" Candy looked around, unable to find Vlad in sight.

Vlad takes a deep breath as he enters the dorm building and into his room.

"Wow. As expected of a vampire, I'm very fast.." He said as he fell on the bed exhausted.

"What a weird guy. I hope I don't run into him again." Vlad closed his eyes. "Today has been one hell of a day." It was already pretty dark outside.

"Will my roommate be coming back tonight?" He wondered. Vlad's thought trailed off as he slowly fell asleep.

The morning sun coming from the window hit Vlad's face making him hiss. He rolled all over the bed as he didn't want to stand up.

"Good morning." He heard a voice. "Zelda?" He asked, still deep in his sleep.

"No, it's me Candy." Vlad's eyes twitched at the answer.

"Candy… Candy?!" He jolted up, making him fall off the bed. His eyes became clearer. The person standing in front of him was none other than the research psycho he met yesterday.

"What the hell are you doing here?! Did you follow me all the way here? Are you a stalker or something?" Vlad blurted out. Candy just stood there laughing.

"Let me reintroduce myself. My name is Candy, a fairy and a researcher. I'm also your roommate." Candy said with a big smile plastered on his face.

"Roommate?!" Vlad screamed.

"Wait, you're a researcher?" Vlad suddenly asked. "Yes." Candy answered.

"What do you research on?" Vlad questioned as he found Candy a little suspicious. "Magic items and magic study… and also about humans." Candy said to catch Vlad's interest.

"So you're not a psycho or some weird researcher who wants to experiment on me?" Vlad asked. "I'm not." Candy laughed at his silly questions.

"Are all humans like this?" Candy asked, walking closer to Vlad. He squats down facing Vlad who was still on the floor due to the fall. Vlad sighs in relief.

"That's a relief. You don't look like a bad person but you coming onto me like that scared the hell out of me. Sorry." Vlad apologized.

"No, I should be the one apologizing. I tend to get excited when I discover something new." He blushed shyly. "I'm sorry." He stood up and apologized.

"It's fine." Vlad said standing up. "And also thank you for helping me back at the convenience store. Turns out I did leave my wallet in the room." He said raising a cute pouch with colorful beads and stones all over it.

"So, do you really know something about humans?" Vlad's voice turned serious.

"Of course." Candy replied. "Get dressed."

"Where are we going?" Vlad asked, curious. "You'll see."

Vlad got dressed and they headed out. When they reached outside the dorm building.

"Shit!" Vlad gasped out. "What's the matter?" Candy asked.

"Wait here, I'll be right back." Vlad said, rushing back inside the building. He went back into their room and picked up his credit card from his bed.

"How could I forget this baby." He said, giving the card a kiss. Before heading back out.

As he was running through the hallway to meet up with Candy, he mistakenly bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry." He said instantly.

"What's that sweet smell?" Vlad thought as a sweet scent filled the air.

He looked up to see the face of whom he bumped into. It was an extremely good looking young man.

"Is that sweet smell coming from him?"

As their eyes met, a displeased look formed on the face of the person he bumped into, sending shivers down his spine.

Before that person could say anything. "I'm really sorry!" Vlad apologized and dashed off.

"Sorry for keeping you waiting." Vlad said. "Let's be on our way." Candy said bouncing up and down in excitement.
