This is my first attempt at writing a novel so if its a bit stinky please understand and type your critiques in the comments so I can improve. There will probably be some breaks every now and then due to exams and planning out the future story/chapters. If I plan on stopping this series I will announce it, so unless I do that it just means something is currently going on. Thank you for listening to my rambling, I'll try my best to write a story you all enjoy and I wish you all an amazing day. Peace!*

58) Let's Raise The Stakes

Capt walked out onto the street to see three men dressed in black, their faces covered by black shiesty's except the one in the middle, who looked somewhat similar to Rogers himself. "There he is!" said one of them.

"Who are you?" asked Capt.

The man laughed. "We're you!" he replied.

"Cut the bullshit and answer the question!" remarked Capt.

"You think I'm joking? When I say we're you, I mean it wholeheartedly. We are the attempts to make a new and improved version of you, but instead of being public heroes, we were made to do the dirty work of the government like slaves," replied the man.

"Clearly not anymore, so what does this have to do with me?" questioned Capt.

"We've heard the stories, and all our lives we were told we were inferior to the original, and we wanted to see if it was true. Call it curiosity to see which version is the best," replied the man.

"This sounds more like an inferioty complex than simple curiosity," stated Capt.

"Call it whatever you want; our goal still remains unchanged," replied the man.

"You'd join a group of terrorists just to fight me?" added Capt.

"How else would we get this chance? You think the government would simply let us go? We escaped thanks to Magneto, and now we help his succesor, who, in his grace, gave us the chance we waited for for so long," replied the man.

"You mean Vulcan?" asked Capt.

"Who else?" laughed the man.

"How did you find me? This seems to be too convenient to simply be a chance," asked Capt.

"Like I'd answer that! Tell you what, let's add some more stakes to our fight and make a bet," replied the man.

Capt considered his options and decided to hear him out first. "Alright, let's hear it first before I answer," he replied.

"If we lose, we will tell you all the information we know, especially the part about finding you. But if we win, I want you to give us and Vulcan access to all of Stark Industries technology," asked the man.

Capt paused for a while before replying, "Give me time to concur with Stark," while clicking a few buttons on his earpiece.

"If it isn't my favourite steroid-using soldier, what do you want? My suit hasn't arrived yet, so if you backup, call someone else." said Stark.

"I've been offered a bet," stated Capt.

"Bet? I didn't think you were the gambling type," joked Stark.

"If I win, I get information on everything, including how they're able to locate us so perfectly, but if I lose, they get access to all your tech," said Capt.

"Sure, go for it," replied Stark.

"Really? That seemed a little easy," questioned Capt.

"No way you'll lose; I won't let you live it down if you do after my amazing and heroic victory," replied Stark.

"Alright, I'll be back in touch shortly," replied Capt.

"Break a leg," said Stark before static.

"I accept your bet," said Capt.

"Wonderful, let's have some fun," said the man, signalling for the one on his right to go orward. He nodded in response and marched towards Capt.

The captain took hold of his shield from behind and prepared for combat as the man stepped forward.

The masked man went for a punch, which got quickly parried by Capt's shield, who retaliated with a punch to the waist and, with his shield, hooked the man in the face, who stepped back, holding his jaw, before pulling out a combat knife.

The others looked at each other and started to enter the fight, also pulling out their knives.

"Now this is fair," mocked Capt.

They didn't show any response to the comment and instead circled Capt.

One went for a stab, but his hand got caught by the captain, who used his shield to hit the one churning at him from behind in the face. A sharp pain came in his back, which Capt ignored and instead used his shield to whack the face of the one he was holding. Capt. released his hand and used his elbow to hit the jaw of the man who stabbed him, who walked back with a bloodied knife in hand.

The one from behind hooked him in the face and went for a stab in the chest, which the captain caught and used his shield to slam it in the other man's face. He dropped his knife, catching it in the other hand and stabbing Capt in the leg.

The captain hooked him to the ground while the other went for another stab, using his shield to whack the arm away. He dug the knife out of the leg holding it before swinging his arm at the man's head. Using his arm, the man stopped Capt's swing, using his other hand to stab his arm. Capt bent his wrist, slicing the man's wrist, who let go of his knife using his hand to stop Capt's hand before being punched in the face by Capt's shield falling backwards with blood pouring from his nose.

The captain took the knife from his arm and threw it at the man who was currently charging at him, hitting him right in the chest. The man continued his charge, thrusting his knife towards the captain, who caught the blade. Using his shield, he smashed it into the man's elbow, dislocating it.

As the man yelled in pain, falling backwards to the ground, the other hooked him in the hip before being blasted away with Capt's shield. The other hooked Capt in the face as the one on the floor threw the knife stuck in his chest at Capt's instead of piercing his skin.

Capt. threw his shield at the man, hitting him directly in the head, causing him to slump on the ground as the shield bounced right back to his hand. Capt kicked the others shin, causing him to kneel as Capt used his kneecap to hit him backwards to the ground as he groaned in pain, holding his bleeding nose.

A large yell could be heard as the man relocated his elbow and got back up to his feet. The other two slowly picked themselves back up and stared back at Capt, who had multiple stab wounds but stood strong like nothing had even happened.

"Is that all?" asked Capt.
