40) Not So Fast

"We're almost there" said the pilot and a facility came into view. There was a large cylindrical building in the middle surrounded by four different sectors each with a different theme. The main building was almost entirely glass with the top being a helipad and what seemed to be an elevator on the north end.

The Helicopter landed and everyone exited and lined up in front of the elevator as Capt order them to follow him down to the ground level for further instructions. 

They reached the ground level and spread out in a line in front of Capt. "As I mentioned last time this will be a team battle exercise but there will be a twist. To win you have to make the opposition surrender through combat or you can force them out the game by touching this red button placed on the back of their backs. This way everyone has a chance no matter the superpower, within reason. First up will be team A and B on the skatepark, Pete and Frank will guide both teams to their respected positions and I will announce when the match starts. I wish both of you, the best of luck." he explained.

"Remember the plan?" asked Peter and both Iceman and Shadow nodded.

While team C got escorted to the viewing room with the Avengers the rest got relocated to their starting positions. 

"Who do you think is gonna win?" asked Tigra.

"Team A. I don't see how anyone can beat Quicksilver." replied Black Bolt.

 "Agreed" replied Behemoth.

Peter drove Peter's team to their side before driving off. "You got this Iceman" said Peter before the siren yelled, showing the start of the game.

Shadow immediately went into a shadow while Peter hid behind a large ramp in its darkness. Iceman immediately turned the surrounding floor into Ice while also creating ice walls around him. 

10 SECONDS AGO

"Time to go" said Quicksilver before dashing away throughout the course while Hawkgirl and 3D-Man could just watch.

In a matter of seconds he reached their starting point but could only Iceman, but he didn't think much about it until he saw the icy floor under him. Quicksilver slowed down with his feet tiptoeing on the ice as he sighed in relief. 

Around Iceman was a small circle that looked unchanged, absent of any ice. "You almost caught me" said Quicksilver wagging his finger. 

"I know, a shame really" replied Iceman. 

"Unfortunately, I can still run quite fast even of ice. So now, lets see what's faster. Me or you're Ice" said Quicksilver, and before he could even finish his sentence Ice-Man shot a beam of ice towards Quicksilver. 

Only Quicksilver could see what happened next. As he drew closer he moved slightly perpendicular to the beam of Ice and he watched as it slower came out of his hand and beamed past him. He had won he thought. He stepped into clear circle and he could just slowly watch as his foot suddenly slipped and lost balance, falling towards the wall of ice. He slowly smashed through the wall head first in bewilderment, still trying to figure out what happened.

Before anyone could comprehend what had happened a crash of ice sounded behind Ice-Man with a hole in the wall. As soon as Quicksilver started talking Peter had leaped out from his place and as Quicksilver rubbed his head confused and disoriented a large web entrapped in on the wall behind him. 

"NOW?" yelled Peter. 

Quicksilver vibrated rapidly as the web slowly started to sizzle and burn away from the friction, taking longer than he thought for some weak spider web. Without him noticing Shadow came out from the shadow behind him pressing the button on his back. 

Everyone was silent before the intercom rang, "QUICKSILVER OUT!".

"HOLY SHIT!" Exclaimed Tigra.

"What happened?" questioned Black Bolt standing up from his seat and Behemoth stayed silent with his mouth wide open.

Even Captain America was shocked and couldn't comprehend what happened. 

"He got eliminated? How?" said Hawkgirl.

"Your guess is as good as mine" replied 3D-Man, both also confused at what had happened. They were certain Quicksilver couldn't lose, how could he?

Iceman and Shadow sighed in relief.

"YES!" Yelled Peter in triumph. 

"Good plan, Spider-Man" said Iceman. 

"Agreed" added Shadow. 

"Now it just Hawkgirl and 3D-Man. We should stick together now that Quicksilver is out of way, we hold the advantage now." said Peter.

Shadow and Iceman agreed and the three started to search throughout the field for the other two. While Shadow stayed hidden, Iceman and Peter wandered in the open. 

Peter's senses went wild as he caught an arrow heading directly for him, just before it hit him. While this happened Iceman stepped back after being hit in the nose, despite not seeing anyone in front of him.

"I'll get rid of Hawkgirl, you two get 3D-Man" ordered Peter as he swung towards where the arrow came from yelling "HE'S 2D" as he got further away.

The barrage on Iceman continued before he ducked, placing his hand on the floor. Within a 5 metre radius it all turned to Ice and a small thud could be heard as a 2D figure was laid out on the Ice. 

A large cloud of smoke appeared and Iceman started to cover his eyes and before he knew it he got tackled with a hand leaning behind his back. He fell downwards and the Alarm rang. 

"ICEMAN AND 3D-MAN OUT"

3D-Man was on top of Iceman with shadow sitting on top holding her hand on his button.

"Can you get off now?" asked Iceman.

"I think I'll stay a little longer" she replied. 

As soon as Hawkgirl saw Peter catch her arrow he ran away trying to find a new vantage point. As she was running and jumping through the skateparks ramps and ditches a web caught her foot causing her to fall over.

Peter jumped down landing a few feet in behind Hawkgirl who was face flat on the floor. Peter moved his head slightly as a knife flew past and Hawkgirl turned around. 

Peter webbed her hand that was placed on the floor and her legs to the ground. 

"Shit! I surrender" exclaimed Hawkgirl annoyed. 

"TEAM B WINS" Exclaimed the Alarm once more.
