New Home & Suit

I scaled the wall in a heart beat, my mind clouding in ecstasy almost immediately. A goofy smile plastered to my face as I pushed off the edge of the wall I just climbed and flipped onto the roof of the one story building.

Every movement, every idea, every thought... Everything felt abnormally natural. As if everything was already hardwired into my mind and all I had to do was unlock the muscle memory and improve upon it.

My ears wrung with the sounds of cars, insects, the rustling of trees in patches of grass, the tapping of pedestrians hard bottom shoes against the dirty concrete that guided their destinations. Engines roared from all over as cars stopped and took off at the red lights at crosswalks.

Feeling the wind blast through my face as I dashed at speeds faster than any car could peak at full acceleration, caressed my soul in a way I never thought possible. I felt free. I felt... Powerful. It's only been a good fifteen minutes since I've possibly crossed and I'm already loving everything about this.

Judging from the locs that bounced against my forehead with every step, leap, flip and hop I was still in my own original body from when I was on my earth. It's just... Upgraded beyond imagination.

'This is amazing! Taking that lightning bolt to the cranium was definitely worth it!'

"Woohoo!" I hollered as I leaped from a three-story building I had managed to make my way on top of, to another across the street. Watching as the cars past by under my feet filled me with a drop of fear and uncertainty because no matter how powerful I feel, my initial fears and hesitation won't just disappear immediately.

No matter how badly I wished for it.

Coming to a hard stop, my feet crashed against the roof of the building. The sudden stop caused me to tumble into a roll, that then led to me knocking into one of those vent looking things that have that little antenna attached to it.

Groaning, I slowly sat up. My heart still pumping blood at speeds high enough to put a jet out of business. Even through the mess up, I was still smiling like an idiot. This was all too unreal... Even though I just did it... I still can't believe I DID.

Vrrm! Vrrm!*

"Hmm?" Reaching for my pocket, the source of the rather familiar vibration was found. A three camera equipped iPhone 13 was pulled out of my pocket. I looked at it approvingly. I didn't have one of these in my last life, so this is a nice plus.

The screen lit up, revealing a single notification from a random contact labeled- "God".

Rolling my eyes, I opened it up and the message read as the following.

[I'm glad to see that you've learned of your new found powers- Well, some of the basics at least... Your reaction was what I expected, but wait until you learn of what you can really do with that new physique of yours. ;)

Anyway, I've left some money in your bank account which is something I had already set up for this exact situation. I also already have your map destination set for your brand new appartment... You should check it out soon, the sun will set in a few hours and theres also something you might like waiting for you inside.

Goodbye.

- God.]

Blinking blankly, I absent mindedly checked my bank account... Low and behold there was enough money on that account for me to never even think about getting a job, let alone going broke for the next few generations... I just hope the deity didn't create problems for me by just dumping money in the account...

I suck at financial stuff.

Sighing while rubbing my forehead, I slowly closed the app and opened maps. Just like the message said, there was a waypoint already set for a nearby apartment complex. Standing up, I let my mind wander blankly as I took off in the direction of my new apartment. Not worried about the pedestrians that might catch a glimpse of me.

Arriving at my destination within literal minutes, I try to calm my nerves with a couple deep breaths and some self-assurance... Which totally didn't work. Meeting new people drives me crazy, especially when I have time to think about the possible conversations and outcomes of said conversations and then I think about their reactions and get self-

'Whatever, I can do this... I can definitely not make this interaction awkward.' Opening the door and taking a proud, confident step into the building, I was greeted the famous old-house smell mixed with the smell of... Stew? Well, it was food. Obviously, but it had a weird mix of meat within it.

Though it smelt planty.

"Mama! Where's the cheese?" Lost in the smell of the delicious food, I was caught off guard when the owner of said food walked out to the main hall. She was a teenage girl, possibly around my age but she was short. A few inches shorter than me.

She had long, wavish-curly brown hair that sat comfortably on the small of her back while her face occupied pinkish tan lips. From a single glance my way I caught the honey in her eyes before she swiftly turned away. Walking a little faster towards the other room at the end of the hall.

"Ah- Well damn..." Missing my chance to speak and noticing the lack of conversation, I slowly creeped down the hall. Just now realizing that I was indeed barefooted. Good thing I know how to control that adhesive stickiness or whatever.

Along the olive colored walls there were pictures of a girl, aging from a toddler, to a young girl and up to a young adult. Much like the one I just saw before she scurried off to probably call the police...

Focusing my hearing in the other room I caught a small whisper.

"Hello? Mama! Where are you? Some random boy just walked- What? Yeah, yeah the foods almost done.. Can you listen?! This random boy just walked in here, he looks lost. What do I do...? He's about my height, locs... Uh I don't know his eye color mama... I-"

Her voice suddenly cut off. Startling me.

Dashing towards the room I came to a sliding stop. Much to my relief, the girl hung up the phone and was now sitting in a fluffy brown sofa chair, her hands on her forehead as she hung her head back over the end of her seat.

Hearing me burst in the room caused her to sit up straight, a weirded out look in her eyes.

"...Hello? What're you doing bursting into some ones home!"

"W-what? I thought this was an apartment building... I honestly didn't know this was your personal home!" Raising my hands in defense, I quickly began to back up towards the door. This was incredibly embarrassing!

The girl sighed, shaking her head for a while before she suddenly started giggling. My mind froze. Was this lady secretly crazy? Please tell me I didn't break into a mental patients home!

"Uh? W-what's funny?" Taking another step back, I curled my fist into a ball, ready to strike if she decided to leap at me with intent to knock me out, take my eyes and then my organs and sell the rest of my body to black market doctors.

I don't want to experience that.

Nuh uh.

"Puhaha! I'm just kidding, my mom just told me that you're actually our newest- and only- guest. Sorry for the... well. Joke?" Placing her finger on her chin, the girl grinned before standing up, grabbing a pair of keys off the side of the table next to her and tossing them my way.

Absent mindedly catching them, I jingled them in front of my face before following after the girl into what I presumed to be the kitchen.

"Wait what... I'm a little confused here. So this isn't an apartment building? But your home?" The girl tied her hair into a bun as well as wrapped an apron around her waist. She nodded with a hum.

"Yeah, it's weird for me too. I didn't think we'd actually get a tenant this quickly, especially since we just put the news out about the little air bnb situation we're attempting..." Turning my way, her eyes glazed over my entire body.

'Suddenly I feel really self-conscious' Looking myself over I couldn't help but internally groan at my appearance... Black joggers, no shoes OR socks and a plain black t-shirt... With no suitcase. Can't really blame me for any of this since I just got here.

"Guess you were in a hurry?" She chuckled while I awkwardly followed her lead. Hey! At least the interaction isn't that awkward... I guess.

"Anyway, that's the key to your room. My mom and I both have one but we wont use it to snoop or anything. Unless we feel like it." Throwing a playful wink my way I just laughed and thanked her. Releasing a breath I didn't know I needed to release, I turned on my heel to head up the stairs, looking to check out my room.

"Oh! Food will be done sooner or later... My mom should be home by time dinners ready. I'll call you when foods done, kay?"

"Right, thank you."

...

The stairs creaked with every step, my own as silent as a cat stalking its pray. A habit I made in my old life. Dunno why, just did it. It'll come in handy when I need to sneak up stairs or something... Though these steps totally don't count. This house has to be a couple decades old but it looks like the daughter-mother duo kept this place in good condition as best they could...

Not a single speck of muck was anywhere to be found so far.

Reaching my room which is the last one at the end of the hall on the right, I quickly unlocked the door and slammed it shut. Sighing once again as I placed my newly acquired key on a key rack nailed into the wall.

The room was spacious. Grey walls, a window next to what I assume is the closet. A dresser a couple feet away from the edge of my bed. A lamp in the back corner, and alongside that, my bed that was promptly covered with!

Nothing! I forgot I gotta get that stuff myself... Yay...

"Woah.. This looks important." I mutter, running my hand over a gray brief case. Atop of it, a note.

[A spider needs his suit... As well as his webs. :)

-God]

Once again my heart began to speed up with excitement, hurriedly ripping the note off the case and throwing it away, I swiftly unhooked the clips and swung the lid open. Revealing my brand new suit within.

A white sleeveless hoodie with a black spider embrodied on the chest that wrapped around the shoulders and waist laid atop a full body black spandex. Beside that was the most important part of the whole costume.

My mask. Black and simple, like the spandex, the mask had giant eyes much like the design on Peters Symbiote suits. I don't know what it's made out of but the whole entire suit felt like it was made out of clouds.

A goofy smile stretched my face as I uncannily tossed everything out, laying it on the bed so I could get a better view of it all. However, that only revealed the best gift this brief case could have...
