The Second Story

After the dance recital was done, Anjana and Raji rested. They were even allowed to wash and change into fresh clothes and were treated to a sumptuous dinner. The two women were flabbergasted at the turn of events. They couldn’t understand what to make of the groom who was belying all their expectations. It confused Raji more as she was more conversant with the laws of the country. Anjana being a foreigner was not so perplexed though she found it difficult to form any kind of good opinion on the man and she was on her guard.

“As we have had a good meal, we shall continue with my second tale.” He said looking at them who nodded their agreement. He plunged straight away into his yarn.

There lived in a small town a man who was known for his spiritual leaning. He was called Susheel – the man of virtue. He was a man of great wisdom, lived a serene, simple life. He had very few needs and spent most of his free time in meditation or seeking higher knowledge from his guru.
