Both Philip and Doug were frozen in shock for a moment before they chuckled.
They soon realized that the mentalists were not in the dream city but in someone's consciousness space.
Philip surmised that they were building immunity over petrification. In this way, when they soon faced the Mepruska monster, they would not be petrified or frozen for an extended period of time.
"But would that even be effective? Isn't Mepruska's petrification stronger than that of an orb's?" Philip asked.
While Mepruska could turn someone in sight into stone, Mr. Floyd's petrification only froze them, preventing any movement. It was a degraded version of Mepruska's true power.
This principle applied to other monsters as well. While an Inbitis could use invisibility without continuous mental energy use, a mentalist or citizen with such abilities couldn't. They could only maintain those abilities through a constant influx of energy.
