Dragon God's Legacy(4)

A week had passed since Feng Qian began his grueling trial under the guidance of the Dragon God.

Feng Qian lay sprawled in his cave, his mind still aching as exhaustion weighed heavily on his mental state.

The last week had been nothing short of a nightmare, a hellish trial imposed by the Dragon God that had pushed him to the brink of collapse every single day.

He thought he could handle the Dragon God Trial with his current abilities, but he never expected that the Trial was insanely difficult.

Every day in his Spiritual Sea, he constantly repeated the cycle of fighting against the Fire Dragon. The dragon towered over him, a massive, fiery behemoth that made Feng Qian look like an ant.

It was hundreds of times more powerful, its flames hot enough to scorch his spirit and reduce him to nothing. Although it happened in his Spiritual Sea, he could still feel the pain like he was fighting with his real body.

Every battle ended the same way: a one-sided beatdown that left him gasping for breath, his consciousness teetering on the edge of oblivion.

Moreover, the most annoying thing was that when he died in his Spiritual Sea, he would respawn in his Spiritual Sea again and again until his spiritual energy or his concentration were drained.

Now, lying in his qilin form, Feng Qian allowed himself a moment of rest. He still felt the lingering effects of the trial, his body aching as if he had been physically battered.

"How in the world am I supposed to defeat something like that?" Feng Qian complained to himself after yet another failure, his mind filled with frustration and despair.

Yet, despite the overwhelming odds, Feng Qian noticed something. Slowly, almost imperceptibly at first, he began to adapt. Each day, he grew a little stronger, his reflexes a little faster, his understanding of his own powers a little deeper.

The Dragon God's trial was insane, but it was also shaping him, forging him to become stronger.

Soon, as he trying to distract himself, he opened his system interface, the familiar screen appearing before his eyes.

[Status]

Species: Terrestrial Fire-Ice Deer(80.6%), Qilin(19.4%).

Cultivation Age: 10,714 Year Spirit Beast.

Feng Qian gazed at the screen, deep in thought. The system had been with him since his reincarnation into this world, but its true purpose remained a mystery.

Although his appearance had the majestic air of a Qilin, his system still recognized him primarily as a Terrestrial Fire-Ice Deer. A hybrid creature mixed with Qilin Bloodline

He understood little about the system, except that consuming Immortal Herbs seemed to increase the percentage of his Qilin species.

There were also instances where significant breakthroughs in his cultivation or absorbing a Soul Core led to a noticeable increase.

But what would happen if his Qilin Species reached 100%? Was that the system's goal? Or is there something else it wants from me? Despite his musings, the answers remained elusive.

As Feng Qian pondered these questions, a sudden chill ran down his spine, an instinctual warning of danger.

His heightened senses, honed by the relentless trials of the past week, were now far sharper than before.

He quickly scanned his surroundings, but found nothing out of the ordinary. "Was that just my imagination?"

Roar~~

Just as he began to relax, a ferocious roar echoed through the cave, and a massive figure lunged at him from the shadows.

Gasp~~

Feng Qian's heart raced as he recognized the creature—a White Tiger with wings on its back, its powerful form emerging from the darkness with terrifying speed and wrapped him from his back.

It was none other than Feng Linlin, his younger sister, who had completed her advancement to the Ten-Thousand-Year Spirit Beast realm.

Feng Linlin's size had grown to an imposing 12 meters in height, resembling a small mountain and now quite similar in size to Feng Qian himself.

As she bore down on him, Feng Qian braced for impact, fully expecting to meet his end. But instead of the fatal blow he anticipated, he felt a light pressure on his neck.

Opening his eyes cautiously, Feng Qian realized that Feng Linlin had only playfully bitten his neck, her massive jaws holding him gently. He exhaled a sigh of relief, his heart still pounding in his chest.

"Linlin! Gosh, I thought this time I would die!" Feng Qian exclaimed, still shaken by the close call. He knew that if Feng Linlin had been serious, he would have stood no chance against such a powerful attack.

Feng Linlin, her demeanor that of an innocent and playful younger sister, released her brother and growled lightly, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Linlin has become stronger, right, brother? Hehe, praise me!"

Feng Qian, still catching his breath, responded helplessly, "Ugh... Of course, our Linlin has become much stronger now. Is that your new ability? It's really powerfull"

Feng Linlin's eyes sparkled with delight at her brother's compliment, and she giggled happily. "Un... Mother taught me to wrap around the meat with pure strength, until it have no space for escape.... Hehe, how about that? Were you surprised, brother?"

Feng Qian could only sigh in exasperation, as if he didn't want to know more about what her mother had just taught her.

The thought of how close he had come to a serious injury or worse made him both proud of his sister's growth and a little afraid of her attitude.

He nodded, albeit helplessly, and said, "Yes, yes, I was very surprised, Linlin."

Feng Linlin beamed with pride, her playful nature shining through as she playfully nudged her brother.

Despite the intense training and the dangers they both faced, moments like these reminded Feng Qian of the bonds he cherished.

No matter how much stronger they both became, they would always be family, bound by love, trust, and the shared trials they endured.

"Brother, do you know where sister chenxing is? Linlin tried looking for her but Linlin couldn't find sister chenxing anywhere…" Feng Linlim asked with a little curiosity.

"Ah... About that..." Feng Qian let out a long sigh as he began to tell Feng Linlin what happened.

...

Meanwhile, in the Lake of Life, one of the Heavenly Blessed Lands in the Core Region of the Star Dou Forest.

Under the serene glow of the Lake of Life, a solitary figure moved stealthily along the water's edge. A majestic beast, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion was attempting to slip out of the Heavenly Blessed Land undetected.

Just as it was about to step beyond the Heavenly Blessed Land's sealing array, a voice called out from behind, halting the beast in its tracks.

"Miss Shizi, at least please bring me with you." A man's voice called out the name of the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, Baiyan Shizi.

Standing there, just a few steps behind Baiyan Shizi, was a man with golden hair that seemed to catch the light as much as her fur did, and on his cheek is a tattoo of Golden Osmanthus.

Baiyan Shizi froze, her third eye narrowing as she turned to face the one who had spoken.

"Guihua!" Baiyan Shizi hissed, her voice laced with anger. "How many times have I told you that you'll definitely die following me this time?"

The man was none other than Jin Guihua, the Golden Osmanthus in his human form, the man she wanted to avoid the most at this time.

Jin Guihua, undeterred by her words, met her gaze with a resolute expression. He knew his young miss was not lying and was telling the truth.

He could hear the thoughts of others, a trait that had both blessed and cursed him with insight into the minds of those around him. And through this, he had come to understand the true depth of Baiyan Shizi's thought.

Although he couldn't saw the future that Baiyan Shizi had seen, but he knew that one of the reasons was because she had taken an interest in the Qilin they encountered on Sea God Island.

That Qilin, Feng Qian, was no ordinary Spirit Beast. Baiyan Shizi believed that Feng Qian held the potential to change the future, and Jin Guihua couldn't help but be drawn to that belief.

However, he could not let his young miss Baiyan Shizi leave alone.

"Miss Shizi," Jin Guihua began, his voice steady and filled with quiet resolve, "you are the one who said that Qilin could change the fate of the world. Then I have even more reason to follow you. I have a debt that I must repay, even if I die at the end, at least by that time I'll know I have paid my debt."

Baiyan Shizi's stern expression changed slightly as she looked at Jin Guihua.

She knew him well enough to understand that once he had made up his mind, there was little she could do to change it.

This was one of the reasons why she didn't want him to come with her this time.

In the end, she let out a sigh, the tension in her body easing slightly as she resigned herself to the inevitable. "Do as you wish," she said quietly, her voice tinged a mixture of anger and concern.. "But remember, I have already warned you."

Jin Guihua's lips curled into a small smile, relief washing over him as he nodded. "I understand, Miss," he replied, his tone filled with gratitude.

With their fates sealed, Baiyan Shizi took one last look at the tranquil waters of the Lake of Life before turning away, her golden fur glinting under the soft light as she moved forward.

Behind her, Jin Guihua followed closely behind.

As they ventured deeper into the forest, Jin Guihua suddenly asked, "Young Miss, aren't we not on good terms with them? What if they suddenly attack us? Even though I can handle them alone with my strength, but it might worsen our relationship with them, is that okay?"

Baiyan Shizhi had a smile on her lips as she said, "Well, we won't go straight to them now, because we still have to visit another place first..."

Jin Guihua seemed confused at first, but when he heard his Young Miss' thoughts, he was terrified and said. "M-Miss Shizi, we are going to the Volcano Mountain, to retrieve someone? I-It's too dangerous, Miss..."

Baiyan Shizi smirked at the frightened Jin Guihua, and said. "What? You want to go back now? You still can if you want."

Jin Guihua swallowed hard, even though he was afraid he still didn't want to leave his Young Miss' side. "I won't..."

Baiyan Shizi was a little disappointed because of Jin Guihua's decision, but then she nodded and said. "Don't worry, I have a plan."
