Soul Land: Echoes of Douluo

Douluo Continent, southwestern Heaven Dou Empire, Fasinuo province.

Holy Spirit village.

If one only heard its name, it might sound like a rather astonishing village. In fact, this was merely a single village of three hundred households south of Fasinuo province's Nuoding city.

The reason why it was called Holy Spirit was because in legend, hundred years ago, a Spirit Sage ranked Spirit Master came from there. This was also the eternal pride of Holy Spirit village.

Outside Holy Spirit village was, without exception, a vast expanse of farmland where grain and vegetables were produced and sent to supply Nuoding city.

Nuoding city was located in the middle of Fasinuo province, and while it wasn't considered a major city, the border of another empire was, after all, very close, and naturally, merchants of both great empires traded there.

Consequently, Nuoding city flourished and the lives of the commoners in the villages around the city were better than elsewhere.

Barely at daybreak, in the distant east, the sky was a pale grey dawn color. On a small hundred meter tall hilltop adjacent to Holy Spirit village was two thin and small silhouette.

Those two silhouette appears to be five or six-year old children.

One of the children, despite enduring the heat of the sun everyday, has skin that was still snow-white like. His long black hair that reach until his bottom appeared very shiny and straight, and his clothes like-robe were clean.

This kids name is Tang Jiyao.

Besides him, to his right, sitting, his big twin brother, Tang San.

"Big brother..." Tang Jiyao said, getting his big brother's attention. "I'm hungry, can we go home now?" He continued, pleading.

"Did you finish your training?" Tang San asked still sitting.

Unlike his baby brother, Tang San, because of enduring the heat of the sun everyday, has skin with a healthy wheat colour, his black short hair appeared very neat, and his clothes, though simple, were clean.

"Uhumm... So let's go now, I'm really hungry." Tang Jiyao said pouting.

"Haahh... Fine." Sigh Tang San, "Let's go." He continued.

"Yeheeyyy..." Shouted Tang Jiyao happily while jumping.

Tang San only smiled, amused, and used to his baby twin brother.

"Careful on your steps." Tang San reminded him gently.

"Uhumm." Tang Jiyao smiled while walking jumping to his steps.

'Hehe, big brother, you still cant say no to me.' Tang Jiyao chuckled internally.

'Hahh... It's almost 6 years since I've reincarnated to this world.'

Yes, Tang Jiyao is not from this world, he's from a world that is much more advance than this world. In that world, Tang Jiyao is a rare genius. There's no one who's more talented than him in terms of music. His family, in result of his intelligence, is very happy.

Tang Jiyao comes from a wealthy family that focuses in the music industry. His parents, worry that someone might take advantage to their child, decides to homeschool him. In results to that Tang Jiyao grew up to be so innocent, curious about the outside world.

Tang Jiyao despite being so innocent, is naughty. He wants to explore the outside world. So one day, when his parents took him outside to visit their relatives. He sneak out.

Tang Jiyao is happy to be free.

'Tang Jiyao is freeeeeee...'

Tang Jiyao shouted internally with a big smile while raising both his hand to the sky signifying happiness.

°'Peeeeepppp... Peeeeepppp'°

Tang Jiyao is frighten. He saw an incoming vehicle driving towards him. He glanced at the incoming driver. The driver is waving him to get to the side.

'Movee. MOVEEEE.'

Tang Jiyao scream in his head but it seems his body wont listen to him.

°'Booooommm. BOOOOMMMM.'°

"Waaahhhhh...Wahhhh..." A child cried.

"Mamaaaa..." said child while running towards his mother, then pointing at Jiyao.

The child riding a bicycle clashed at Tang Jiyao.

"Owwww." Said Tang Jiyao while sitting at the road because of the impact of the crash.

Tang Jiyao has never been hurt. His parents protectiveness doesn't allow them to let Tang Jiyao experience some pain even if its just a little.

There's one time, when Tang Jiyao sneezed, his parents immediately call the doctors and cleaners. They order to thoroughly clean the whole house, and that house is a four-story mansion, so you can see what I mean.

Tang Jiyao just experince the feeling of pain.

"Uwahhhhh." He cried while shouting like a kid.

"Momm..." he cried, sobbing, because of crying, he didnt notice that there's a vehicle driving towards him, now a big vehicle.

"YOUNG MAN! GET TO THE SIDE!" the mother of the child shouts.

Tang Jiyao, not paying attention, just continue to cry. "Wahhhh!"

°'BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM'°

Thats how Tang Jiyao died in his past life. Adapting towards his second life is hard for Tang Jiyao. Tang Jiyao's new family didn't have enough money for their daily needs, there's also his drunkard blacksmith father, Their father's income from smithing is not enough for there food and it further lessen because of their father's vices, but even then Tang Jiyao still loves his drunkard of a father, Tang Hao.

Tang Jiyao, since his past life is very sensitive when it comes to emotions, he can feel the surrounding people's emotion, whether it be happiness, sadness, loneliness, and it seems that talent still follows him to this life. So Tang Jiyao is certain that Tang Hao loves him and his big brother, Tang San.

Then, there's his big twin brother, Tang San. Tang Jiyao loves his big brother very much, aside from being an only child in his past life and thankful for having sibling in this life, Tang San takes care of Tang Jiyao very well.

There's this one instance where Tang Jiyao has been bullied by the other children outside. Tang Jiyao has a bad habit of singing whenever he feels inspired.

One day, Tang Jiyao saw two birds playing in the sky, Tang Jiyao, inspired by freedom that the birds have, sang. Tang Jiyao's singing manage to capture the adults attention, so when Tang Jiyao want to earn some money, he want to take advantage to this opportunity. Children, jealous at the attention Tang Jiyao gets, gang up on him.

That's when Tang Jiyao first experience his first fight. Being his first fight, and him being afraid of pain, made Tang Jiyao despite being an adult mentally, lose to the children.

Tang San manage to arrive at the right time when Tang Jiyao is just being stepped on by a child. Tang San, enranged to see his baby brother in that state, beat up those kids till they cried themselves to their parents.

"Hhh. Ouchh..." Tang Jiyao sobbed checking his wounds.

"Let me see." Tang San asked, wanting to see how bad it is. "Don't cry, I'm here." Tang san continued, holding Tang Jiyao's long hair away from the soil, afraid of dirtying it further.

"It hurts, big brother... Uwahhh!" Tang Jiyao sobbed like a child.

"Uhum... I know... Lets go treat it, okay?" Tang San said coaxing his baby brother.

Tang san supported Tang Jiyao carefully to their home. Tang wu seeing his child's situation is enranged. Tang san never saw his father react as intensely as now.

"What happened?" Tang Hao said seeing Tang Jiyao's bruises.

"I dont know..." Tang San said. "When I got there, they're hitting him already."

"Where were you?!" Tang Hao said accusingly.

"From the hill, outside the village." Tang San said guiltily.

"Father, don't blame big brother." Tang Jiyao pleadingly said between sobs. "Big brother even save me, he beat those kids up." Tang Jiyao said proudly, like its him who has accomplished the feat.

Tang San just looked at his brother, amused at the face his making.

"I'll go get some medicine." Tang San said, then proceeded to prepare the medicine.

"What were you doing there? Didnt I tell you to just stay here." Tang Hao said with a cold expression but is still checking Tang Jiyao's wounds.

"I'm singing there, the aunts and uncles there give Jiyao's some money if I sing." Tang Jiyao said smiling brightly while showing his

hard-earned money.

Tang Hao and Tang San just looked at Tang Jiyao, touched and happy.

Since then Tang Hao forbade Tang Jiyao to go to the other households. He proceeded to accept a lot of order for blacksmithing.

Tang San, not wanting his baby brother to be defenceless, started to include him in his training. At first Tang Jiyao is pretty hesitant in moving, but when Tang san showed his strength while lifting a big hammer from their father's workshop. Tang Jiyao excitedly follwed his brother's lead.

"Were home!" Tang Jiyao shouted while kicking the door open.

"Ahhh..." Tang Hao, their father grunted.

"Father..." Tang Jiyao said coquettishly

while approaching his father."You smell bad." Tang Jiyao continued while covering his nose.

"Father... Take a bath, please." Said Tang Jiyao while giving Tang Hao puppy eyes.

Tang Hao sigh at his youngest son, while rubbing his temples.

"Ahemm. Later." answered Tang Hao to Tang Jiyao.

"But... Father..." Tang Jiyao said cutely while shaking Tang Hao's arm. "Were gonna eat..." Tang Jiyao while looking straight at Tang Wu's eyes.

"It's better to eat when were all clean and not stinky." Tang Jiyao continued pertaining to the

three Tangs.

"Fine... fine..." Tang Hao surrendered, sighing. Getting up and going to the bathroom to take a bath.

Tang Jiyao just smile beamingly. Tang San just shrugged his head while sporting an amused smile.

"I'm gonna cook now." Tang San said going to the kitchen. Tang Jiyao just nodded at his brother.

°'Knock... Knock...'°

"Xiao San? Xiao Yao?" Grandpa Jack called from the door.

"I'll get it!" Tang Jiyao said while running towards the door. That's when Tang Hao walk towards the living room again rubbing some clothes to his hair.

"Grandpa Jack!" Tang Jiyao greeted enthusiastically.

"Xiao Yao, where's your brother?" Grandpa Jack ask.

"Inside, Grandpa Jack!" Tang Jiyao answered joyfully. "Come in!" Tang Jiyao said.

"Grandpa Jack!" Tang San greeted while still cooking.

"Xiao San." Granda Jack answered while nodding.

Grandpa Jack then saw Tang Hao sitting in the table waiting for Tang San to finish cooking. Grandpa Jack just snorts at him.

"I'm just here to remind you both about the upcoming Martial Spirit Awakening." Grandpa Jack said.

"Grandpa Jack, what's Martial Spirit Awakening?" Tang Jiyao ask tilting his head, confused. Tang San also look confuse.

"We all have our own martial spirit which will be awakened around the age of six with the awakening ceremony. Having a martial spirit, we can enhance our ability in a certain field. Even an ordinary spirit can still help. If by any chance you gain a remarkable spirit, we can speak about conducting cultivation, even to the extent that you could possibly become a Spirit Master. The awakening ceremony is held only once every year." Grandpa Jack aswered.

"The awakening will be in three days." Grandpa Jack continued. "Make sure you attend, okay?" Grandpa Jack said.

"Okay, Grandpa Jack." Tang Jiyao happily said.

Tang Jiyao is shocked at the same time happy. Is this world, the same as those fantasy world that he'd read?

'Hehe, what will my martial spirit be? I can't wait.'
