Separation

A nice simple day out with my two little sisters Fotün and Fia. The daughters of king Hamlet and Queen Agnes of the southern lands. Our kingdom has been in peace for many generations and I seek to keep it such as I'll be crowned Queen in four moons time.

Our caretaker miss Glabber whose been with us since our births till now always goes out with us. She still waits for her true love to come and take her out of her shell. And she will be turning sixty seven summers old the day after tomorrow. Such luck to grow old but a pity with no one by your side.

"Fotün! Fia! Return at once!" Miss Glabber shouts at my sisters as they race towards the plain hills near the Elephantoids. Such big creatures yet so calm and gentle.

"Oh let them run around while they still can." I chuckle." They are still young and full of spirit and vigour. "

Suddenly my Father's guards come rushing on their steeds.

" You must leave the kingdom has been taken," one of the soldiers warns. " Run your highness before th.... " An arrow pierces his throat. Miss Glabber screams as his blood falls all over my face. Immediately I seek to where my sisters are.

I begin running towards them and a horn sounds. I turn to see a man of white color in silver armour covered in blood. Blood which is not his.

" Who amongst you is Flavia? " The soon to be crowned Queen? He speaks through yellow skinned teeth.

As I was about to answer a young maid stands up and claims my title. "I am Flavia what do you seek?" The young maid bitterly asks. "I thought you to be prettier but the rumors where not true". Then man and his army laughs.

What do you seek? The young maid angrily asks. The man on the horse drops down and comes towards the maid and whispers," I seek your head young lad." And with that he splits the young maid's head with his sword.

My eyes grow wide with disbelief.

My heart begins to race and fear for my sister's lives grabs a hold of me as I start running towards them.

A soldier races after me to slash my head and before he could raise his sword on me an arrow pops out of his eyes. I stop and look at the dead man before me. "Flavia! Run!" I hear my father's voice shouting over the mountains.

I reach my sisters oblivious to what has been going on. "Oh Flavia I found the most delicate flower ever." Fia jumps happily in my arms. "I heard father's voice what is going on?" Fotün asks.

We must run. There is a war. Quickly we must go. Soon as I said those words another horn sounds and Father's army comes swooping down like torrents of rain.

Soon arrows fly and swords begin to cling. I carry Fia and hold Fotün as I run towards the mountains. A large metallic device I've never seen comes out and shoots at us. Landing opposite a few feet from us. The ground breaks and we fall. Fia begins to cry.

The Elephantoids begin to run due to fear of the mechanism. A stampede arises and we're in their path. I quickly get up and run with my sisters towards the hills.

Surviving servants run with us towards the hills. As I reach towards the top with my sisters in hand an arrow lands on my calf and I fall.

I turn to see Father on his knees with a sword on his neck and his head comes off seconds later.

Hot angry tears burn the scratches I got when I fell. I look at my sisters and my pain worsens as I see their faces of shock and disbelief.

There tiny traumatized faces covered in scratches and tiny drops of blood.

The invading army pushes towards us and I make the hardest decision of my life. Separating with my sisters.

Uriel one if the surviving maid's I call out to her. "Uriel! Take them far and safe . Away from all this. Keep them well for me. I'll be back to take them home one day. All of us."I wipe away my tears."My princess I cannot possibly leave you here", she pleads.

I look at my sisters and wipe there tears." Go with Uriel and do as she says, she will take care of you. " Fia begins to shake her head and clings further into me. "Fia it'll be alright, Fotün is with you." I Pat her hair. " Fotün you are the elder sister now look out for each other always" . She gives me a brief nod .

A young child but with so much understanding and care. I hand Fia to her. "I'll wait for you" she speaks through cracked smiles and tears.

"Uriel take them and go. Follow the Elephantoids they'll lead you to safety." Now! I command. She takes them and runs off with the rest.

I stand up and look up with a sigh and pray to the heavens for my safety and my sisters for they are the last I have. Mother I'm not sure if she is alive or dead and father was killed infront of me. I'm the eldest daughter with my kingdom I shall fall and rise. I turn to look back and my sisters are gone. They can't be seen and I breathe a sigh of relief.

"We've got one here!" A soldier shouts. I'm pulled by the arm as I whisper to myself, come what may.
