The valley of Kuilta

"Last night was fun", Elena came over to Sam with her food and sat besides him.

".. you can say that", Sam shifted a little to increase distance between them.

"Let's do it again sometime", smiling Elena said.

After breakfast was over, they packed everything and started moving again. In the distance Sam could see many mountains and asked the driver what those mountains were called. 

"Mt Killian", the driver said while pointing to the highest mountain visible. "And the whole range is known as Kiltuas Range. Soon we will be entering the valley", he told Sam.

As they got closer to the mountains Sam could now make it clear how big the mountains were. 

"Everybody on the lookout", Freid shouted when they reached the valley entrance and Sam immediately knew that there must be monsters here.

"What should we look out for", still he asked the driver to be certain. 

"This place is a wyvern nest, they are very brutal hunters", the driver replied.

'From wyvern does he mean those winged lizards that can fly', Sam visioned the monster he had seen in the comics.

It hasn't been even five minutes when they entered the valley, a loud sound alerted everyone. *Screech

"Is that a wyvern", Sam asked while Freid and Goth took their weapons out. Goth loaded arrow in his bow and immediately aimed at the sky.

Freid kicked his horse to signal it to move forward and overtook the carriage. "I will keep watch out in the front, Goth will take care of the back. Sam, you are responsible for keeping the carriage safe", he went ahead saying this.

The voice slowly came closer and Sam could see the figure of a bird getting bigger and bigger.

"..Wyvern", he increased his grip on the sword and took a fighting stance. Goth also noticed the wyvern and fired his arrow but it was dodged by the wyvern. 

*Screeech The wyvern let out a big scream and folded his wings in performing a high speed drop on the carriage and with a swift move attacked the carriage with its talons.

The carriage was rocked powerfully causing Sam to stumble on his feet. Fortunately the carriage was strong enough to withstand the attack. 

"Shit", Goth fired another arrow but it was deflected away by wind force of wyvern's wing. "We have to kill it before it calls for its friends", the driver told Sam. 

"Okay", Sam swallowed his saliva and jumped on the roof of the carriage. The wyvern swooped down to attack Sam and pulled its talons out. Sam was lucky to block the attack but the force caused him to nearly fall off the carriage.

Like that the wyvern continued attacking Sam while he defended with full power. "Why are you playing with it?", Goth shouted angrily, "kill it already".

"I am trying", Sam shouted back while trying to defend fimself from other attack.

The wyvern flew high in the sky and performed a high drop to break the carriage. "Not a chance", Sam concentrated his aura on the sword and struck wyvern's beak. With such powerful force Sam was thrown out the carriage while wyvern had its beak broken into many parts and died on the spot. 

"You messed with the wrong person", Sam said to the dead wyvern while standing up from the ground.

"Good work", Freid came back to pick Sam up. "Let's hurry", he went back to the carriage and Sam jumped on it.

"You did well", the driver also complimented Sam.

The rest of the journey was smooth and they were able to safely escape from the wyvern's area. 

"How long until we get out of this valley", Sam asked the driver. 

"This valley is very big, I think it will take three more days", said the driver with a serious tone. 

The valley of Kuilta range had another name famous among travellers, the valley of wanderers. The environment here varied with location causing many to get lost and never escape out.

The reason Hardlett carriage was moving from this valley was due to the reason that they can't afford to take a detour. Taking a detour would increase the duration of travel by a month and they didn't had that much time.

Night arrived and fog slowly took over the valley making their forward journey impossible. 

"We will be camping here", Bisca came out of the carriage and told.

"I will prepare the dinner", the driver went to start cooking the dinner while Freid decided to patrol the area.

"The valley of Kuilta is a very dangerous place but a detour will add a month of time", he told Sam.

'So that is the reason they are willing to go through this dangerous place', Sam thought.

[I can also feel different kinds of energy. This valley is certainly strange and dangerous], Sei had analyzed the fog and told Sam.

'Keep a lookout on any disturbances', he instructed Sei.

[Okay]

After fighting the wyvern Sam was feeling pain in his hand and back. The wyverns attack power was no joke and it took everything from Sam to kill it.

'Guess I will take the medicine for pain', he didn't wanted to finish his healing potion and settled on chewing on herbs.
