SMO Chapter 3.2 : Hostile

Leaving the town, LacX uses his 1001 Agi to get to the Forest, where Horned Rabbits and Menti Herbs were said to be located.

Horned Rabbits apparently live in groups of 6, since they help each other fend off danger.

Menti Herbs grow in a fresh area near water. The Freshness of the Herbs can be used for Cooking and Medicine. The Medicine is the "Mana Potion", which replenishes 50 MP.

Arriving at the edge of the forest, LacX uses "Area Sense" and begins moving forward at high speeds using "Sprint".

After about 3 Seconds, LacX already senses a few Rabbits nearby.

Running towards the Rabbits, before his SP would get any lower, he activates "Momentum Slash" and takes out 2 Rabbits.

'Wait, these don't have Horns... did I get the wrong ones?'

[Appraisal]

[Name : Hop-Bunny]

[F-Rank]

[Description : A Bunny Creature that can only jump very high]

[Drops : Rabbit Fur, Rabbit Meat]

[Rare Drop : Bunny Ear]

'Wait, these are just normal Rabbits? Well, meat and furs could be useful, and I could use the Exp.'

Using "Momentum Slash" again, he takes out another Hop-Bunny before he runs out of SP.

'Guess Normal Attacks will do.'

Proceeding to outrun the Rabbits, he takes them out quickly.

"Well, thats that. Without SP, I should look for the Menti Herbs while it recharges.

Before he does, he gets a notification from the System.

[Rewards]

[Exp +17]

[Drops : 2 Rabbit Furs, 3 Rabbit Meat]

'There were only 5 of them, but I only got a small amount of Exp. Guess the Horned Rabbits might be a little harder if these were just Hop-Bunnies. Gonna need to watch where I go from now on.'

LacX takes the Rabbit Corpses and Drains the blood from them.

"Well, this is more real then I thought it would be. I heard that Skinning and Cutting can give more drops. Kinda like real life." LacX just rests as he waits for the Rabbits.

After a few minutes, they're done. LacX takes a Bag that he bought before he left.

[Storage Bag : Very Small]

[Description : Can store up to 50 kg]

'Well, now I'm close to broke. I barely have enough for the Inn.' LacX puts the Rabbits into the Bag and continues on his way.

After a few minutes of walking and collecting some Menti Herbs, he hears a small *ding* in his head. Looking at his Status, he sees that his SP was refilled.

"Time to Hunt"

LacX activates "Sprint" and "Area Sense" again, and finds a few more rabbits. These ones had a small, yet long horn on the top of their heads.

'Finally.'

Before he charged in, he got a notification from the System.

<Skill "Sprint" is now Lv 2>

Noticing no difference in speed, LacX charges in at top speed.

Without using "Momentum Slash", he takes out 2 Horned Rabbits, just as if he used the skill.

[Appraisal]

[Name : Horned Rabbit]

[F-Rank]

[Description : Slightly stronger than a Hop-Bunny, but can move at swift speeds and strike with the Horn on it's head. The Horn has a 10% Chance to inflict "Bleeding"]

[Drops : Rabbit Fur, Rabbit Meat, Rabbit Horn]

[Rare Drop : Rabbits Foot]

Lucky for LacX, there were exactly 5 Horned Rabbits. With this, he can finish his Quest.

As LacX goes in for another Strike, the 2 other Rabbits charged at him. Barely evading, he manages to use "Momentum Slash" and spins, striking both Rabbits in the Horn, which broke both horns.

"That was close. Can't underestimate a Rabbit now, can I."

LacX goes in for the 3rd Rabbit, who nearly dodged, but was struck in the back leg, and then struck down with the blade.

After a bit of trial and error, since he ran out of SP again, LacX finally manages to take out the other 2 Rabbits, comepleting his Quest.

Shocked, LacX looks at the description of the Rare Drop, and his New Skill.

[Name : Rabbits Foot]

[Description : If made into an Accessory, the Accessory will increase the Chances of a Rare Drop by 1%]

<Momentum Orbital : While moving in a Circular Motion, the User can use "Momentum Slash" in a 360° Ring. The SP Consumption is 10/Orbit>

'So, "Momentum Slash" but it's continuous? That seems a little much, don't you think? And wasn't the "Rabbits Foot" a Rare Drop? And I got it on my first quest?'

After calming down and recharging his SP, LacX goes back to the Town to turn in his Quest.

"So you mean to tell me that you killed 5 Horned Rabbits by yourself? And even got the "Rabbits Foot"?" Lisa is currently interrogating LacX at his practically Flawless first quest.

"Well, it took a little longer because I accidentally ran into some Hop-Bunnies on the way. I have them with me as well. Do these count as anything?" LacX takes out one of the Hop-Bunny Corpses and shows it to Lisa.

Inspecting the corpse, she sees that the neck was cut clean, with no roughness or harmed sections.

'He did this? But his stats don't show any strength. Is it his weapon? No, his Equipment? Why does he have a Hoodie?' Lisa puts the Hop-Bunny down on a nearby table.

"Well, Materials and Raw Foods can be sold at the guild, and the price for the Herbs will be rewarded normally.

[Acquired 42 Copper]

"Even though Menti Herbs are not rare, they are still pretty difficult to find. Even finding 6 is a good amount for your first quest, but you found 21 of them. Maybe it was your Agility Stat that increased your efficiency of finding herbs. Good job, keep it up." Lisa praises LacX on his first quest.

"Thanks. 42 Copper is not bad. I might hold on to the other rabbits though. Just in case." LacX puts the other Hop-Bunny into his bag.

"Well, if you ever need any help looking for a quest, then come see me, ok?"

"Will do, thanks again." LacX walks out of the guild after finishing what he needed to do.

'I guess I should level up a bit, since I will need to be stronger to fully defend myself.' After that thought, LacX walks towards the Gate again, and heads back into the forest.

After about 3 hours, LacX gets a message from his System.

[Daily Copies Reset]

'So it's midnight now? I've been playing for almost a day in the game. Maybe it's because the time between here and the real world is different.'

LacX has been doing nothing but fight Rabbits and collecting herbs. His current Status is like so:

Now the only thing left was to distribute his Stat Points. Leveling up gave him 5 Points per Level. He currently has 15 Points to use.

'Should I use it on Agi again? If I do, then I won't be able to increase my Stamina, which allows me to use my Skills. Then again, I can take care of Rabbits without the use of a Skill.'

After a bit of contemplating, he decides to use his points on Agi again.

"Well, Running is pretty fun in this game."

Back at the guild, he sold the Rabbits and Herbs.

"Geez, you went overboard. Even without taking a quest this a large amount." Lisa is shocked at the progress that LacX made within a single day.

"Right! I should have grabbed some Quests! Dang it, I'm an idiot!" LacX facepalms himself, disappointed at his own stupidity.

"Come on, it was still a good first run. You can take some requests next time, and earn more than today." LacX calmed himself and agreed with Lisa.

"I guess I'll just take some quests next time. Thanks."

"No problem. Just remember to keep at it. Also, make sure not to run the Rabbits to extinction, 'kay?" With a serious face, she gives LacX this warning.

"I'll make sure not to. Anyways, it's about time that I leave." LacX waves goodbye and runs out the door.

Going to the same Inn as last time, he Logs Off and returns to reality.
