Chapter 52

Tails walked into his room. And, with a chuckle... began to change. He grew taller. Lankier. His face morphed, into one that was not his own. Or maybe it was. He tried to keep all the laughter quiet, knowing he may alert someone to his presence. He continued to morph, until he wasn't him. He was not Tails.

He was a man. He had old, gray hair. Silver eyes. He had a bony figure, one that looked like it hadn't eaten in days. Snickering now, he reached into his pocket. And he pulled out a small device. Not the Miles Electric.

"Miles... we're in..." He laughed in a voice that was not Tails'. A man showed up on the screen. It was the man from earlier. The one that Marmask had called Mimask.

He spoke. "Fantastic!" He exclaimed.

"Shh! Keep your voice down!" The man who was impersonating Tails hissed. "I'm in the guest house with them. What shall I do?"

"You alone can't take on the blue one. Killing his new little friend and... her... might alert him to your presence," Miles stated. "But IT could very likely destroy the hedgehog. Lay low for now. Wait for the next morning, and follow them to the basement."

The two were silent. "This may be goodbye, my colleague," Miles sighed. "It's been a pleasure doing business with you."

"Hmph," The man impersonating Tails laughed. He had a smile on his face. He powered off the device and put it back in his backpack, before morphing back into Tails. He sat down on the bed, and waited for the next morning.
