Chapter 36: You've Got a Friend

Rick's POV 

When I woke up the next morning, sun streaming through the window and Alexis by my side, I realized how incredibly lucky I was. The most beautiful woman I had ever seen was naked, and gorgeous in my bed.  I didn't deserve such riches. 

I couldn't stop thinking about three things: Was she my true Luna? How much did I need to worry about Asher making another move on her? And despite all his assurances to the contrary, was he the one behind all of the threats? 

It all made my head spin. 

I knew that I loved  Alexis to the depths of my soul. She understood me in a way that I had previously believed impossible. Being with her reminded me that I was alive. Did that mean she was my Luna? How could I tell? 

And Asher, that a*shole. I knew he wanted her. How was I going to both keep him away from her and protect us from whoever was trying to kill us? Furthermore, if it was Asher, why keep sending creatures to kill us both, given that he was interested in her?
