Chapter 59

 We stand still momentarily at the realization of what Nick just said. Shock appears on our faces when we realize that what he said is supposed to be impossible. I turn my head in the direction that Nick is looking and see the woman that Huxley and I helped out of the compound that was chained up. My mind reels with questions, but now is not the time to ask them.

 Upon hearing his voice, she first looks in our direction in fear then it turns to shock mixed with relief. "Nick?" she asks in a small voice. Her voice sounds stronger now unlike when we were in the compound.

 Bethany stands up to run as best as she can to Nick and throws her arms around his neck. Nick's arms circle her firmly but also carefully so he doesn't hurt her. The way he holds her makes tears want to come out of my eyes but I hold them back.
