Magic and celebration

It is Lucans 6th birthday this day.

Birthdays are treated differently in this world once every 3 years as a milestone.

Lucans 3rd birthday was celebrated with close family.

At the door, Lucan is standing with Kallin, greeting guests as they walk in. Out of all the family members and invited nobles, there was one person who stood out. A priest was invited, and Lucan was curious about him.

"Father, why was a priest invited it seems out of place for a priest to be here."Lucan

"Lucan, it is rude to assume someone doesn't belong. Trust me, Bishop Paul will play an important role later on."

Not long after this, the rest of the guests arrived, and greeting people was over Kallin, then guided Lucan to the front of the dining room.

Everyone was gathered in the dining room for the celebration.

In the dining room were around 25 people, 8 were family members, a few nobles, their children around lucans age, and Bishop Paul.

"Welcome to my home, everyone. I thank you all for coming to my son Lucanars 6th birthday. The 6th birthday is significant as it signifies the age when we start training our children to protect themselves from future harm. I thank everyone for coming this day of celebration, and I'd like to personally thank Bishop Paul for coming to divine Lucanar's magical affinity. I look forward to the future of our children."

After this, the party started. Lucan was only interested in one thing, and that was what his magical abilities were.

Lucan talked with the other kids, but he wasn't interested as his and their interests didn't align.

the party went alright, people chatted, and it eventually came to the time for presents, and there were 2 simple presents, the first being a wooden sword Lucan was so excited to be gifted a sword. the second gift was a wand to use as a focus for magic.

"With this sword, I shall train you in the art swordsmanship the style I teach is the Eastern sea style. Lucan, my son, prepare yourself to be trained hard and become a warrior mage like your father." Kallin

"I will meet your expectations, father. I hope to become stronger than anyone else and make it to the top of the world, being the strongest."

After presents were given, it was meal time it was a meal grander than normal with many different items lucan ate till he was stuffed.

Afterward, it was time to find out Lucans aptitude.

A small table was brought out, and on it, an old wooden case was set.

The bishop opened the box inside the box, which was a small orb and several other items in small bowls that were soon uncovered to show different materials, water, charcoal, seeds, dirt, and a purple fluid

"While you hold this orb, close your eyes, you will feel a warmth from your core. I want you to imagine a pathway from your core to this orb. After that, you will be able to see your affinity with the materials provided."Bishop Paul

Lucan, without word, did as he was told he had a little bit of difficulty guiding the sensation.

That's when it happened half the water evaporated and condensed into a thunder cloud. The other half of water froze from the cloud, which was lightning and snow. the other reaction was with the earth and charcoal. The earth melted, and the charcoal burned.

Everyone was dumbfounded by this development and watched in wonder.

having 2 affinities was very rare, but 3 that was almost unheard of.

In history, only people who have a huge influence in the world would be born with 3. The most well-known were the heroes of the past who killed the 3 tyrant kings 5000 years ago.

"You may open your eyes now you did well Lucanar. Your affinity is ice, fire, and lightning."

the bishop then took the orb from lucan.

"Thank you for your insight, Bishop Paul."

After this, the party ended.

Outside of the Dreya mansion in the nearby forest.

2 men stood outside the mansion, one in dark clothes and one a noble who was at the party.

"Thanks for coming on such short notice. I found someone interesting that can make us a ton of profit."Noble

"Well, dont hide a single detail." Man in black

"It's Kallins son, you know the rumor that he is a half giant well to add to that I watched his affinity test, and I was dumbfounded to see his affinity for 3 elements. Him having magic in general should be impossible if the rumor is true, but he does." Noble

"Thanks for the info. I will get a group ready to take the kid. Very important people will want such a person especially if they will influence the world as you know of the meaning of having 3 elements."
