I as the champion got the prize… it's a mecha beast with slug food, the prize for second place is a mid-level vine drill while the third is a Neotox slug

Don't get me wrong a mecha beast is a lot expensive! And besides you can't have enough slug food if you are pioneering a cavern

Anyway, after a lot of pictures and some dudes who wanted to use me as a market guy, i made my way to a cavern called Low Rock Cavern…

"Based on my readings we are going to enter the low rock cavern" "You know Trish, i can't believe i'm going to be pioneering a cavern!" I exclaimed while having my excited face on "Haha, hold your Dino butt there are reasons why people don't go to unexplored places you know" she said seriously

"Yeah, i know it's just… most of the caverns can be a home," i said while looking at the stony terrain "Uhuh… Are you sure you wanna live here?" she said while looking back at the terrain "Yeah… this might take a lot of slugs to revive"

Scratch that! I will probably need containers of fandangos to revive the cavern… "Yeah… this might be a bad idea" then she started to settle a camp "Ill look around first and see if it's habitable," i said seeing her putting her slugs down "Yeah… be careful" she replied "I will"

There is a reason i want to pioneer a cavern, and the reason for that is… i needed to protect the people i love from the ghouls and sooner than not, black would probably start his schemes

Finding a base with a terrain advantage would be helpful for me and besides that, i can create terrains to my liking and house slugs to their preferred terrains

I can also have huge land! But the thing about pioneering a cavern is… they have certain dangers, some caverns can make people sick because of the spores that float, and above which the people need special medicine to cure the sickness, some caverns have worms that will eat any beings, some have yetis that grow bigger if they were angry

Some have natural storms, some have toxic air etc… see the dangers just keep on growing the more you think about it the more dangerous the 99 caverns become, and because of that finding a place to stay and be a base that keeps you protected is one of the essentials

Finding the low rock cavern took 2 weeks while setting a basic base would take a month if we had the materials which sadly we don't…

"I have to go to the scrap heap and get the materials," i said eating the bread "I guess ill look for the slugs and tools?" Trish said while eating a soup "Please"

You know. Recycling stuff is annoying, it takes a lot of time gathering and some punks just must stop me from getting the materials i needed, oh yes slaves are a thing in slugterra if you don't know

Another 4 months passed i managed to build a fortress! Although we got some bandit raids, we managed to defeat groups of them, i also relocated Mister Grandpa Merchant and his family to the Low Rock cavern, he gave me one of his strongest slugs and an upgraded accelerator for my mech beasts

"Speaking of which how much did we earn this time?" I asked "Not much but it's enough for a year," my assistant a.k.a Trish said while looking at the statistic "Hmm, the Grenuke slugs?" I whispered "Oh, those? Some slugs just disappeared these past few months, although it's a little headache but we are far away from them"

"Sir, a man is outside the base and shouting" One of my hired men came to me "What does he want?" "He wants a duel! The base for an upgraded blaster and 3 dozen slugs" he said while one of his slugs was hanging on his face "Haha, sure ill be out in a jiffy"

Low rock cavern is hospitable but its unnatural wind stops anyone from having a duel, if you don't know aiming and firing needs some relevant wind… to make some 'unexpected' result, for example, if the wind is blowing upfront of a slinger there is a high chance that the slugs momentum gets slow or be redirected to another location

That is another reason training a rammstone slug here could have a likely strong rammstone because rammstone has tougher bodies they resist wind more

Although the stronger wind will stop its momentum and lose the velocimorph, the thing is the 'rammstone' must be healthy, and the dude's rammstone? No, ne, nem, nej and nu! The slug looked like it was fed minimally! It is too thin and its velocimorph horn is smaller than the normal ones
