"Why are you defending him?" The woman asked, her old but shockingly clear blue eyes almost poking a hole through Sabrina, but Sabrina stared in return, refusing to back down.
"Because that is the truth," Sabrina said, and she thought to herself that it wasn't a lie because either way, she could have been killed if Jamal had not shown up to save her from the Rossi family.
"Is my grandson sleeping with you?" The old woman asked again, and Sabrina choked on her tea, spluttering and hitting her chest to regulate her breathing.
"Grandson?"She asked, her eyes widened with surprise, as she continued coughing.
"Surprised, are we? I guess he never mentioned me to you, seeing as he would prefer that I don't exist," the old woman said, and Sabrina wanted to laugh.
She wanted to tell the old woman that Jamal never mentioned anything to her, that everything she had come to know about him had either been by accident or told to her by Maryam.
