AN INFECTED

Author was currently infront of the cell where he had heard some noises coming from. On the inside was a man who had strange features on him, making him look like a humanoid beast.

Despite all his fierce features, Author didn't feel a little scared at all. Author was supprised by this. It seemed like since he had acquired the system, his heart had gotten bigger and his emotions were under control or one could say vanishing slowly.

The beast man looked at Author with eyes of a predator. His breathing was heavy like that of a large animal.

Both Author and the beast man just stood there for sometime, looking at each other not saying a word like one was waiting for the other to speak.

With closer inspection, Author could notice that, that was the assassin who almost took away the Duchess's life.

' So he was infected by the shadow plague. And it was not visible at that time as it was still in the first stage. That time he was so strong. Now it looks like he is almost reaching the third stage. I wonder how strong he can be now.' Author thought.

" Why are you here? To give me a second beating? Why don't you step in let's see?

I might have been weak back then but now you are no match for this power." The infected man said as a the cloud of smoke rised from his body.

Author heard everything the infected man said but he still stood there silent not saying a word. And the man continued;

" Many of you to see this as a desease, but it is a cure. A cure for weakness. I was was a no body before. I was bullied and always looked down on, but with this new strength I can become one of the greatest men ever known." The infected man said while having reactions wich showed that he was in pain. This was because his body could not handle the force and power of the shadow plague.

" The fact that you were weak and bullied before didn't give you the go ahead to make wrong choices , let alone attempting to take another person's life." Said Author with a calm but serious face.

" Ha.. Wrong choices you say, When did following the orders of your savior become a wrong choice? My master saved me from weakness by giving me strength, and in turn I had to prove my loyalty.

I might have failed at the first time, but it is just with time that I would be able to fulfill my master's wish. Hahaha" After saying those words, the man started laughing like a mad man.

His Laughter was interrupted by another presence. It was the Duchess who had entered the room. She had heard some noises down at the cells and she decided to take a look.

" He was once a servant of mine. So bad he turned out this way." The Duchess said as she walked majestically towards the scene.

" My lady with all do respect , please I will request that you don't come any closer to this cell, it is very dangerous." Author said fearing for his new mother's life.

" I know my son, but once more I will like to look into his eyes and asked why he did this and what did he gain?" The Duchess became stubborn and kept stepping closer.

As she got closer, the smile on the infected man's face continued growing bigger.

Author seeing this was really worried of what could happen but he could not do anything to stop his stubborn mother, all he could do was to get ready to protect her if any incident was to occur.

The Duchess finally reached and stood infront of the cell with Author standing very close to her very ready. She looked at the man with a sad look and she started speaking.

" I picked you from the streets when you were a nobody.

I clothed you, fed you and gave you a well paid job and in return is this how you pay me back?

I have been trying to assume that you were under the influence of the shadow desease but it seems like contrary to your appearance, your reasoning is still tact.

This shows that you did those things on your own will, so tell me what I did wrong for you to treat me the way you did?" Asked the Duchess.

" Yes you are right on the fact that you picked me from the streets and gave me a better life, but you were wrong about one thing; Who you thought I was.

You see your problem is that you trust people too easily. When you saw me suffering, you thought I would be a trust worthy person but little did you know that I had my own plans.

You Might have been my master back then, but I have met a new master who did not only give me a better life, But also the power to stay that way." When the Infected man was saying this words, Author could hear his heart beat changing.

His heart beat was increasing with every passing word and the aura coming from him was strong. This made Author to have a hunch that he was about to do something bad.

" My lady please move away. I think it's best if you leave from here now." Author said.

Immidiately Author said these words, The infected man's body transformed totally. His body no longer looked solid. His whole body was made up of a cloud of smoke that was constantly moving about, but he still had the shape of a human.

" Hahaha thank you for coming here and making my job easier. I have finally reached the third stage in my evolution and now I am unstoppable." The infected man said as his chains fell off his hands because they could no longer tie him up at his current from.

Author and the Duchess were stepping behind as the man was stepping infront and through the prison bars.
