Chapter 3: Orphan

Anticipation and enxiety can often make time seem like it is moving at a slow pace. But regardless of how slow it seems, it is all but an illusion of the mind. At the end of the day, the anticipated time will eventually arrive.

"Alio, you are next."

Hearing the call for his name, the young man stood up from his seat and approached the closed door. When he opened it, he was met with the dark sight of the room. All he could see within the room was a second door, a small bed close to the wall, and a woman sitting next to the bed. Beside her were a few unknown utensils on a table.

"Take your chlothes off and sit down," she instructed. Alio was stunned for a moment, but he still obeyed. After all, he had a pretty good idea of what was going to happen in this room.

This was the reason why the room was so dark. So that it will be easier to see the small glow in Alio's eyes.

"Next is the fun part," she said with a smile. She then smeared her hands with a gel from the table.

"Are you ready?" she asked, kneeling near the bed and meeting Alio's eyes.

Apart from the type test, there is another grade test. While the type test figures out what type of ability a man holds, a grade test determines the grade or level of the ability.

There are six grades in total. The grades are simply S,A,B,C, D, and E. E being the lowest and S being the highest. The grade of the ability determines the upper limit of how high the given ability is. For instance, should the ability in question be future sight, an E-grade ability would only sew a few seconds or minutes into the future. While an S grade can see years or possibly decades ahead,.

So although it was a bummer for his ability to be a physical type, there is still redemption for it to be an S grade.
