HE MAY NEVER WAKE UP

Xi looked at Nalani, who sat on the ground in a crumpled mess, tears streaming down her face. He couldn't bear to see her like this, but he knew there was nothing they could do. They had planned everything out and made sure he was safe, but somehow, it had all gone wrong.

"I messed up," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

"Shush," Xi said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "It's not your fault. None of us knew things would turn out like this. We tried to keep him safe."

Liam and Leo stood next to them, unsure of what to do or say. They had come to this secluded spot, hoping to calm Nalani down, but she had been crying nonstop the whole time. Her sobs echoed off the walls, making it feel like the whole world was closing in on them.

"Nalani," Liam said, trying to get her attention. "We don't know the whole story, but we do know Logan wouldn't want to see you like this. Please, pull yourself together."

Leo nodded in agreement. "Crying won't fix anything. We need to figure out what to do next."

Nalani looked up slowly, her eyes red and puffy. "I know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But it's hard."

"No one said it wasn't," Xi said, sitting down next to her. "But we can't give up. Not now."

They all sat in silence for a few moments, the only sound being Nalani's quiet sniffles. Finally, Liam spoke up. "We need to fix this," he said. "Let's make it more... dramatic."

Xi looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"We can't just sit around waiting for things to happen," Liam explained. "We need to take action. And that means making a big statement. Something that will get them off our case till Logan's is fine." we know what they are after, and I'm sure there's going to be a round two if we just stay here and mop around.

They all nodded in agreement, willing to do whatever it took to set things right. It was going to be hard, they knew that. But they were determined to see it through. For Logan's sake. You and Xi have to explain everything to us so that we can think of the next thing to do.

As the nurses and doctors rushed into Logan's ward, chaos erupted. Machines beeped loudly, and the sound of urgent voices filled the air. Xi and Nalani stood outside, their eyes wide with fear.

"What's happening? Please tell me," Nalani begged, tears streaming down her face.

"Ma'am, please move aside. It's an emergency. The patient is having a relapse," a nurse said as she ran past them, grabbing some equipment and rushing back into the room.

Leo tried to calm Nalani down, but it was no use. She was on the brink of hysteria, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Leo, what are they saying??" she asked, her voice shaking with fear.

"Calm down, Nalani, please," Leo pleaded. "We don't know anything yet. Let's just wait and see."

But the fear crept in slowly, suffocating Nalani. She couldn't bear the thought of losing Logan. They had come so far, fought so hard, and now it might all be for nothing.

As the minutes ticked by, they paced back and forth, waiting for any news. Aunt is calling, Leo informs, Liam.

"Not now, bro. She'd get a heart attack if she hears that Logan is in the hospital and currently unconscious," Liam whispered urgently.

Suddenly, the doors burst open, and the doctors rushed out, their faces grim. Nalani's stomach dropped, and she felt like she might faint.

"What's the news? Please, tell us," Xi demanded, his voice shaking with barely controlled emotion.

The head doctor looked at them gravely. "I'm afraid it's not good news. Logan's condition has worsened, and we're not sure if he's going to pull through." He may never wake up.

Nalani collapsed onto the floor, her world shattering around her. The others looked at her helplessly as a nurse helped her up.

"Please, ma'am, you need to stay strong for him," the nurse said kindly, placing a hand on Nalani's shoulder.

But how could they stay strong when their world was falling apart? Everything they had hoped for, everything they had planned for, was slipping away. Logan's life hung in the balance, and there was no assurance of him returning to me.

As the news of Logan's deteriorating condition sank in, Nalani's emotions overwhelmed her. The pain in her heart was too much to bear. She felt like her world was crumbling around her. Suddenly, she crumpled to the ground, her vision blurring.

"Nalani!" Xi shouted, running to her side. "What's wrong? Why did she pass out?"

Liam and Leo looked on in horror, unsure of what to do. They had been through so much together, but this felt different. Nalani's life was now on the line and they didn't know how to help her.

"I don't know," Xi admitted, his voice shaking with fear. "We need to get her help." They carried her into a private ward.

They called for a doctor, and within minutes, one arrived, rushing over to Nalani's side. The others stood back, watching helplessly as the doctor examined her.

"She's in shock," the doctor said gravely. "The stress and emotional trauma have taken a toll on her. She needs to be hospitalized."

"What can we do?" Leo asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Support her," the doctor said. "Comfort her. Let her know that she's not alone."

The guys looked at each other, their eyes filled with empathy and sadness. They knew there was nothing they could do to fix the situation, but they could at least be there for Nalani. They vowed to support her, comfort her, and be there for her no matter what because Logan would want them to do so.

As they watched her lay there, pale and fragile, they felt a deep sense of sadness wash over them.

For Logan's sake, they had to stay strong. But it was getting harder and harder every second.

AFTER THE EVENT

As they drove home, the streets were eerily quiet, but the old man's mind was racing. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

"Dave?" he said, breaking the silence.

"Yes, Grandpa?" Dave responded, glancing over at his grandfather.

"Did you see the young woman who arrived at the party?" the old man asked.

"I did," Dave said, nodding. "Why do you ask?"

The old man hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should voice his suspicions.

"Did you see the resemblance she has with your late mother?" he finally asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Dave's eyes widened in surprise. "I did," he said, his voice firm. "But I don't see how that's possible. Mum died when we were kids."

"I know," the old man said, his brow furrowed. "But I can't help but wonder. That woman... she looks exactly like your mother. Could it be possible...?"

Dave hesitated, unsure what to say. He was thinking the same thing, but it seemed too crazy to be true.

"I don't know, Gramps," he said finally. "It's possible, I guess. But how could we prove it?"

The old man sighed, leaning back in his seat. "I don't know," he admitted. "Maybe it's just my imagination or wishful thinking. But there's something there, in her eyes, in the way she moves... it's like I'm seeing a ghost."

Dave glanced over at his grandfather, feeling a sense of unease settle over him. The thought that his mother or sister might still be alive, after all these years, was both thrilling and terrifying.

"I honestly don't want to get ahead of myself," the old man continued, his voice quiet. "And I know I'm already too old. But I could swear she's your late sister, if not for the fact that she died when you both were kids."

Dave didn't know what to say. The thought that his grandfather might be right was too crazy to comprehend. But still, there was that nagging feeling in his gut, the feeling that there was more to this than they knew.

"I don't know, Gramps," he said finally. It's worth looking into." I hope it's Nalani.

Me too.
