Lady Melisa's first instinct upon seeing Eric was to look behind herself. The ship was still quite far away but even if it had reached the shore, there was no way Eric was going to let them escape this time. Worst, they had also tried to take the Siren away and the lord knew how he would act about that.
Surely after King Bastian's death he didn't need her but it was possible that he wanted to use her for the same purpose for which they tried to take her with them. However it was very unlikely for Eric to do such a thing.
