Despite the coldness and indifference on Aethara's face as she spoke, Corey could faintly sense a tinge of fear and confusion emanating from her aura.
A confused light flashed in his eyes when he thought back to her inhuman shriek and reaction after he burnt her crimson vines with his Dreamfire.
When the crimson vines attempted to take his Genesis Armament from him, he followed his instincts and chose to use Dreamfire on the crimson vines because they were plants.
Fire burnt plants right?
Even though he did this, a part of him expected his Dreamfire to be shrugged off and ignored because of the power difference between them. At best, he thought the crimson vines which seemed to have a mind of their own would leave his axe out of instinct.
However, Aethara's reaction was not what he expected at all.
