7:00pm

A man on his early 20s, surrounded by a dozen or so newcomers, went to the work table of a emotionless man that look like the same age as he is and excitedly said-

"Hey, there will be a gathering at the hotel just next door as a welcome party for this years' newcomers at 7:30! Everyone is invited! You coming, Lexy?"

The man briefly look up to him from his work table, looked back at his desktop again and without looking, he coldly said-

"Not interested."

Just as the man surrounded with newcomers were about to reply, he heard 'Lexy' speak again-

"And my name's Alex, not 'Lexy', Jack"

As if he heard nothing, Jack just said-

"Yeah, yeah, I'll wait for you there 'Lexy', it's in room 303 on the 3rd Floor!"

After saying it, he, together with the dozen or so newcomers went away.

"..."

Looking at their leaving backs, Alex said nothing and just silently went back to his work.

….

"Although cold, he's so handsome, isn't he?" a beautiful newcomer boldly said.

"Yeah…" another woman replied with a faint blush on her face.

Hearing their goddesses talking about this, the male newcomers felt sour and cursed Alex in their minds.

"Who's that guy, Manager Jack?" a newcomer asked.

"Yeah, he's so arrogant that he didn't even bother to stand up and greet the Manager" another newcomer echoed.

"Indeed! He-" just as another newcomer was about to speak something, he suddenly felt something wrong, when he turned around, he just saw Jack looking at them coldly and said-

"What did you f*ckers just say…?"

Hearing this, the newcomers who spoke badly of Alex just now suddenly felt a chill on their backs and without them knowing, cold sweat started breaking out of their foreheads.

The newcomers could do nothing but silently bow down their heads out of fear, because they couldn't believe that the bright and easy-going Manager that was teaching them things about the company on their first day this whole day could become this scary just because they spoke badly of someone.

Looking at the timid newcomers, Jack turned around and snorted.

"Hmph, careful of what you're going to say from here on out, or Imma rip your mouth apart!"

""Ye,yes, sir!"" the newcomers stuttered as they replied.

….

'He alone is worth more than all of you lots combined together, and yet, these newcomers dared to have some ideas about him just now?! Don't they know their own weights?!' Jack angrily whispered in his heart.

7:45pm

Click!

As he looked at his saved finished work, Alex nodded in satisfaction.

Although nothing seemed changed on the outside aside but, from his unusually bright eyes, he himself knew that he's happy.

As he went and shut down his desktop, he stood up and did some stretching.

….

After he's done stretching, he checked the time and realised that it was 7:50 already.

"It's late now, I should go back home…"

After he's done tidying his things, he went down to the ground-floor and left the company building with the security guard briefly looking at him.

….

As he was on his way to the station, he stopped, took out his phone, looked at the time, and saw that it was 8:00 pm already.

'Hmm… wait up, aren't there a gathering tonight at the hotel next door…?' he suddenly remembered.

"..."

'Well, whatever, I'm 30 minutes late already, tired from working all day, and not interested in the first place' thinking so, he put on his earphones and played music on his playlist and browsed his phone for just anything while he was on his way to the station again.

….

After some time, he's already at the last crossroad just right in front of the station.

With earphones on, he stopped browsing his phone for a bit, and he briefly looked up and noticed the glaring Red Stop light, and went and lined up with others to wait and continued browsing on his phone again.

After a while, the Green Go light came, and he walked on the crossroad first.

….

Crossing the crossroad first while browsing on his phone, a dazzling white light suddenly enveloped his sight, causing him to use his right hand to cover his eyes as he turned on his right and looked at what it was.

When he looked, the only thing he saw were the dazzling headlight of a van that was closing in on him, and then, he heard-

Bang!

His vision blurred for a bit, and he felt extreme pain all over his body, causing his consciousness to blacken for a bit!

"..."

Silence. 

Extreme silence reigned all over the place as the people around looked at the scene in front of them dumbfounded

….

""AHHHHH….!!"" some of those who came to their senses early, shouted.

While some-

"An accident!! Quick!! Call an ambulance!!"

"What's the emergency hotline number?!"

"It should be 211!"

"It's 911, dumbass!!"

"..."

Using his last bit of pitiful strength, he looked up at the chaotic place and messy people and understood what happened.

'So… a drunk driver fell asleep while on the wheels and hit me,huh…?' he thought.

'What a clique way to die…' 

And with this last thought, his vision slowly darkened and finally lost his consciousness.

UWAAAA!! UWAAAAA!!

On the street beside a debilitated house in the suburbs, a baby's cries could be heard.

Unfortunately, in this dark place no one seems to care, and just continue doing their own business.

….

A while ago…

'Uhh… where am I…?' Alex thought to himself.

'I didn't die…? Am I in the hospital…?'

'It must be night now, huh…? Considering it's dark all around…'

With his unusually stiff body, he scanned his surroundings, and after a while only then he came to a conclusion-

'I'm far from being in a hospital…' 

'Then, where-'

Burp…

"..."

'I-'

UWAAAA! UWAAAAA!!

"..."

'What the f*ck now…?!' Alex distressingly asked himself.
