Silence By: @Kawaii_galaxykit

                    Silence

Mid Spring May {Year____}

(Scene Library)

- TV Playing The News- Reports of 6 missing children who have been missing for several months.

-Tv shuts off- by Lillian

I'm Lillian, an average high school student who studies supernatural things and science. My life I look forward to studying things that most people don't expect to happen,  such as paranoia activity. As the Tv played,  if you are wondering  there have been several cases of children randomly disappearing. My father years ago studied the same things I am currently doing today... the only issue is about him is he disappeared along with finding where his studies led to. The only thing he left behind was an old leather book with pages of spiritual and demonic drawings and words. To my eyes my mother thinks he was crazy for such things he said and wrote in this journal but I think there clues-

-Thoughts interrupted-

"Hey Lillian, how's it been? I see you're off studying again." A happy expression across Mia's face as she excitedly asks Lillian.

-A Pause of silence for a minute-

She replies with a concerned look. " I've been doing quite decently. I've been trying to figure out what these all mean-"  Showing her Dad's old book, wide open on the hard wooden table.

"I also have been trying to study what's been going on and if there is a connection from this old journal my father left being what could be the possible way to find these children who have been missing for months Mia."

Mia is known to be a nice sweet girl with a wonderful personality.  She's known as Lillian's best friend since kindergarten. With a smile Mia grabbed the chair and sat down right next to her. Without doing anything a group of other teenagers walk in through the library towards her table.  They aren't the type of people who can be quite nice to anyone especially if they are popular at Silver ValleyHigh school. A girl with long brown hair approaches both girls who are sitting at the table.

Their whispers and laughter fill the room's silence as they approach, as their faces turn from being happy to an unsettling expression. This girl who's walking over is Macy, one of the many girls who's popular in school though she can be troublesome to those she's around but I personally learned to just ignore it if it's the stupidest stuff like her nagging comments. But when it comes to her she makes it unpleasant to be around especially when she has her friends who make life a lot worse for me and Mia. Thinking to myself I snap back into reality and look up to Macy, who's standing right in front of me at the end of the table.

"Ah I see that a couple of bookworms here would appear here who wouldn't know to see you here, following your fathers footsteps."  She snickers with a grin on her face. "I bet your father is the reason for all these cases, no wonder why he left your family for some crazy research. No wonder he's considered a madman for disappearing for a few years-"  As she speaks the last words, she's  interrupted by one of the guys in her little friend group named Matt, a very tall, slim guy. "Macy you know if they're so into this type of crap why don't we go to the old mansion deep into the woods? After All that's where all the missing children heard to be disappearing at." Saying as he faces Macy, knowing that she will look back on the two sitting at the table.

This gave Lillian a surprised look on her face knowing that the book her father left behind had pages of description and photographs of the old mansion, inside and out but these were outdated from now. When this came to thought Lillian had an idea on what to do, then a smile appears big on Lillian's face as she speaks, " Since you think that this whole theory about the mansion being the reason why my father left my family, why don't you just go there yourself, afterall you say your all this and that why not just prove your point and go if your not too chicken."  She chuckles as she turns her head to see if Mia agrees to what she proposed but knowing already Mia did agree as she nodded her head. Mia didn't say a word but her facial expressions gave it away that no matter what reasonable thing Lillian decides she goes along with it as long as it isn't harmful to her nor to others. While this question was put out the rest of her group walked over to Macy, as they all discussed both girls just sat there patiently in silence as they waited for a reply. Macy herself had no words to say but as she turned to  discuss to her group of friends their chatter had gotten louder as they spoke to one another.

-Chatter, fills the quiet empty room, leaving Lillan and Mia sitting quietly in their seats-

Lillian knew they wouldn't decline their challenge like this after all going there is beneficial to her and one of the good reasons to figure why these children kept disappearing including her father who tried to try to do the same but never to return home that late night. To think that she came up with this crazy idea of hers, she looks back at the others who seem to be almost done figuring out whether going was such a good idea. But to this idea, Macy and half of her group disagreed about going to such an abandoned place due to the many stories they heard about the place and the missing children's case. At the same time they felt the need to go, afterall they didn't want to feel humiliated or embarrassed if they didn't accept this challenge or offer of hers.

In an angrily eager tone of voice, " I will certainly go to prove I'm not scared of some silly house because of the rumors"  Macy said angrily towards Lilian and Mia. As her words shocked both of them she  looked towards her group and nodded. Knowing that she wouldn't back up from such a challenge she moved away to a different place in the library to discuss the matter with her little group as both girls studied happily together as they waited for a reply.

-25 minutes later goes by-

Silently as Lilan and Mia work, Macy slowly walks back up to the table and speaks in a firm voice, "I will accept your lousy offer and go up there but that doesn't just include me it includes both of you, and my group." The time she took was just only to decide that made them smile

"Why don't we just go later tonight around 8, let's see what baloney this all is." With an unpleasant expression she storms off with her group. To this surprise they weren't expecting her to go at all nor later today, while they studied. Time flies, from such a bright nice sunny day to a mysterious dark starry night.

-Hours go by-

At this time they sat at home watching tv and studied more than what they expected since time goes by a lot when you work hard at what you're interested in.

-The phone starts rings loudly-

The bright red phone, hanging on the wall, rings very loudly as it brings the attention to both girls who hurry to answer it. The speed of them both Lilan mangas to pick up the phone before Mia who stands there right beside her. From then the voice of the phone was  ambivalence mixed with anger and cheerfulness, "It's 8 you guys better come down before I send someone to you it wouldn't be so pleasant. And for your information I only came to prove to you that I'm better than you in every way including not being scared of some rumors that are complete nonsense to me."

To be completely honest Lilan was already prepared for them to say the words on the phone just now. Everything is packed with all the goods for these types of events and  including the notes she took with her fathers journal. Mia was given the task to prepare the flashlights and batteries, as well as snacks and water just in case both of them get lost. With charged up phones both scurry to the car with their backpacks.

[Leaving] -Drives to the old mansion deep into the woods-

-Arrives at their destination-

For a dark starry night it was peaceful as it ever could be, when they reached their final location they saw one nice looking car and another car they looked a bit older than the three which includes theres. Stepping out of the car Mia speaks in an exciting tone, " So if we're doing this can we be partners? I don't think I can stand being around Macy if she treats us like dirt all the time and going here was a good idea. Now we can look for clues about those missing children cases and figure out where your dad could be!" Smiling happily she gets out of the car and waits patiently by the driver door for Lilan.

Lillian herself was preparing for what her eyes might see when they went to this abandoned mansion in the woods. Would this even help discover what her father's clues he left help solve the cases and find where he's been all this time? Thinking about this made her spaced out, while coming back into reality from her thoughts she sees Mia laying on the hood of the car talking to Macy with an uneasy face.

The words she spoke and her sitting in the car were a blur, she couldn't hear what they were saying but she understood she was keeping them waiting but wasting time in the car. She slowly adjusts the door hand and opens the door, while getting out a gust of wind blows against her ankles. A slight cold breeze on a dark evening for them, at the entrance of the forest. The forest itself is full of mystery even though it's a small area, it surrounds the abandoned mansion.

When she heads over to Mia and the rest of the group she asks, "So are we doing this as a group or partners? Because I'm sticking with Mia because I trust her more than anyone here."  With that being said Mia stays close to her unwilling to leave her side at any time. No words were spoken from Macy as she looks back towards her small group and then looks back at the girls. In a snappy tone she asks," Were going to go as a group. I obviously don't want to be stuck with a bunch of losers who probably know nothing about this area. Honestly to think I wouldn't be here today is wrong, I will explore this repulsive place to prove that I ain't scared of anything." With those words she eye rolls and starts leading her group. The same goes for them both, but with a short amount of time Lillan whispers,"Even if we're here with them, try and find any clues while with me. I have this odd suspicion that there's more to what those cases are than what appeared on the news. Even though I never got to see my father who disappeared three years ago, I still want to know what happened to him and where he's at.

Words like that made Mia realize that where they're going isn't going to be easy, her doubts about the cases and rumors here might be more in common than what those think. She didn't want to hesitate any decisions Lillan made knowing she's one of the smartest girls she knows in the school and her closest best friend after all. With a pause in her thoughts she politely asked, "Okay but is there a possibility that even if were there we might find something we shouldn't see? But at the same time find out what the causes of these are happening in our town? I honestly hate that people go missing for no reason, it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it." With a slight chuckle she points over, " hey lets go I don't think we want to keep them waiting after all it will be an interesting night."

They both looked at each other and nodded, seeing that they were determined to solve this case made them feel confident about themselves. Following the old stone path as Macy did they ended up getting there 5 minutes later.

-At the front of the abandoned mansion-

Silently both groups stand there in front of the old mansion, with worried and scared faces. Someone broke the silence… "I know we're here for multiple reasons but this is something else, I don't want to get lost." Matt says with fear in his voice. Lillan didn't know about him much but him being part of the group of hers she didn't expect such a person with high standards to be scared of such a place. Afterall she disliked him for the way he treated others poorly rather than being polite and nice in general.

While they just stand there, with great courage Lillan takes the first step up the wooden creaky porch. Next to the door was an old porch swing, old as it can be it still works since the day the house was built. It did give off a family home vibe when it was new from back then but now it's all run down and looks shabby. As time flies quick as the wind blows on a winter evening, with its peeling paint on the walls it continues to still be in good condition as it could ever be even though it's rundown. The rumors that were about this house were only a conspiracy of thoughts as a mysterious couple that lived here long ago, but with a sudden disappearance of them both nobody knew what happened.

"Looks like somebody deserted their house, they even left everything the way it was all covered in dust." With a skeptical look on Lillans face she gets close to the door, trying to turn the knob. As she turns it in slow motion with her hand she hears a loud noise coming from the inside.

-Thud-

As this sound was alarming to her, she looked back to see if the others were alarmed by this was very frightening for them, especially Macy of course, not only is she scared but she didn't like the noisy sound that was made. With fear in her voice she asked, "WHAT WAS THAT? Don't tell me it came from inside, there shouldn't be anyone here-" With that being said she was completely terrified for whatever could be inside the house to appear before them. With this concerned facial expression that  appeared on both Mia and Lillan they had no words to say, this all was surprising to them not knowing what could be inside.

Before they could think about anything else, Lillian grabs the door knob tightly and yanks it open. Creating a huge loud squeak from the bottom of the door as it drags against the old wooden floor that looked decades old. The sight that was seen was amusing to Lillian, she never suspected that the rumors about the couple mysteriously disappearing to be true. Their house was still decorated with old fashion furniture and beautiful nick nacks, just as the articles said it be but wondering if anyone has been here for ages.

She slowly paced, looked back and forth in the dark room that appeared to be a living room. With such a dark room it was hard to recognize what its main look looked like. With a slight serious tone Lillan faces the group behind her," this place is very old and dark…. I know we came here with you to prove your courage and all.. but whether here or not just for that,I have this very odd feeling that there's something here that I'm not seeing."  WIth that said, a slight movement from in the dark moved, Lillan looked at the group.

It wasn't that bad, I think there's more to it than the looks and the starry night sky that causes it to look fearful as it is as Lillan thinks to herself. The more she wonders about it the more her curiosity grows.

Feeling agitated Macy looks at her standing at the house then back to her group, fear grows upon her… But for her group, they didn't know what to say as their suspicion grew about the house becoming true, and the more they became concerned of it the more it was tempted to go home.

-Crashed-

A sudden large sharp sound, coming from the kitchen of the house. Not knowing what it is possible Lillan wanted to see what it was, as she calls for me they slowly guide their way inside the home. The slightest of light shines from the flashlight as Mia wanders around the room looking around. When they got further inside, Macy shockingly starts heading in as well as the rest of the others.

While there in the old home they looked around for clues, with their bright shining flashlight they carried around. With a slight whisper coming from Mia," Look at all this, it's like they haven't done anything to this place since they moved in."  When she speaks to Lillian they move closer to the kitchen, big as it can be they notice a cup. As it lays on the ground it's shattered, broken as it was just casually moved by someone accidentally from the sound earlier.

"Guys I feel like now that we've been here for a couple minutes we could possibly go home now?... I think we spent our fair share here and let's just leave…"  With a quaking tone in her voice coming from Macy who looks to be side by side with her group.

-Quietness-

Nobody said anything for a long period of time as they scavenged around looking for any signs of clues, but to this Lillan knew something was up. It's odd for someone to knock over a class and have stored food in the cupboards in the kitchen. With her thoughts that all came to a conclusion it was like someone was living here and possibly watching them in the dark. Without thinking Lillan spots the light switch that was hidden by a few cobwebs, possibly maybe this would work? As she thinks to herself and keeps quiet the light switch is flipped on.

-Lights flickered then to normal-

"It looks like it was recently used normally when I read about this type of stuff with haunted or abandoned places, the lights don't normally work like this-" As Lillan gets  cut off by a loud noise that occurs from upstairs…..

-THUD-

A sound that's loud as it can be sounded like someone who is moving around upstairs. A look of fear grew upon Macy as she trembled, not knowing what could possibly be as they all gathered around the kitchen. Everyone stayed silent for a few minutes until….

-Lights flicker on then off, then completely off-

As the books Lillan read it seemed as the situation was quite similar to what she studied, but it all was very odd. Odd as in there was something here that different really match up, like was there something she wasn't able to figure out.

-Another loud sound from upstairs happens again -

-THUD-

This surprise caught Lillans attention as she came back into reality from her curious thoughts. When she looks around she can see Mia and Macy going through drawers only to find old but beautiful silverware. "Hey Lillian…" Mia said in a bothered tone, " I feel like these were used recently… There's no dust nor cobwebs covering inside this drawer, it's like someone has been living here… scary." She says anxiously, then turns to Macy to show her.

For some odd reason this just doesn't add up to the cases or the rumors of the cases, like there's more to the story than what's been put out to the public. Lillan is more into her deep thoughts, she wasn't sure how to relate nor feel about this while being here at this abandoned home. While she thinks she joins the search with clues, each time they find something it keeps getting more and more weirder for them.

Without the power that the house once had, they used their flashlights and looked around. With clues such as the broken shard glass, the used utensils, and the noises made it more suspicious. Macy's group did help with the search for any evidence if someone or something was here, it kept getting strange as it went.  "Hey guys look I think I found something that you might wanna see." Matt speaks pessimistically.

Knowing it wouldn't be something so good as slightly as it was, while following him he leads the way heading to the stairs. One after another while going up, the stairs started to make a very loud sharp sound.

-Creeeeak-

Silent as it was, it fills the atmosphere with just the sounds of the old creaky steps. As they tried to sneak up each step without making a peep, not knowing who or what could be possible up the stairs. They all looked both left and right before getting up to the second floor, when they saw nothing of the sort they all headed up. To see where Matt had headed, as they spot him they follow to see where he was going. But the upstairs they see has a beautiful victorian wallpaper, its designs look very old from back then. Knowing that this house must be very valuable to the couple who once lived here and its antique furniture that's displayed around the house.

Once they all gathered to where Matt had led them, Lillan had noticed that he had taken them to what appears to be a small bedroom.  A light yellow wallpaper fills the empty room, paper drawings all over the floor and the wall as if a little kid was once there. To their theory that kids always loved to show off their colorful artwork, placing them in every inch of the room. But out of their curiosity they didn't think the room had any purpose when they saw the mysterious art since some were crumbled and some were torn to pieces.

With such little room there was just a small bed, broken and deteriorated over time. Nothing more to be seen, Lillan moves her hands around the room trying to feel the small light switch on the wall. Barely light dims the cramped room, nothing much to see; they look left and right for clues. Not knowing what to expect, they discover a mysterious box under the bed..

"I feel like there's something that has to be a clue inside, maybe to help discover what's been going on or the missing kids…" As the words that Lillan has spoken, she is cut off with an unexpected movement from the hallway. A noise of movement that sounded as if someone was watching them from afar…  As the two girls of the group, Mia and Macy, stand by the door, they slightly feel on edge by this noise.

-Creakkkkk-

A loud sharp noise coming from one of the wooden boards on the steps, old as it can be, was like there was someone here trying to watch every move that they were doing. While clutching the old box, Lillan slowly opens it… Finding old photos of the people who once lived here, even though they're just black and white photos, it seemed as if they had sentimental value to them. Underneath the old photos appeared multiple letters with cursive handwriting on them, not knowing what each of them said led to a mystery of questions to her.

With a smile Lillan stands up towards them, " I know that we were here at first without a purpose, but now I think there's more to discover here. Since this is the only room that we found these at we could possibly search-"

-Thud-

Another noise louder than before alerts them, with this shocking surprise giving everyone goosebumps. Never in her life has she felt so anxious, "...W.we should try and maybe look around in pairs to check the other rooms." She says trembling as her eyes widen when she sees the light flicker then off several times.

When the lights shut off completely the group didn't say a single word, the thought of the place being haunted felt like reality to them. With quietness fills the atmosphere, Mia moves out of the room using one of the small flashlights they had brought and then back into the room that they're in. Then Mia speaks facing towards the group," I know we discover the box and all but I saw from a distance that the room doors are kind of boarded up. It's hard to see in this house with a small flashlight but overall I think that whoever or whatever is here is maybe on the first floor."

Mia wasn't sure if what she says is helpful but she gestures to Lillan, trying to encourage her that not only were they here to discover what they're looking for but also want to guarantee that there's nothing to be afraid of or to be anxious about, since they had great knowledge of what supernatural looked like to them. Slowly Mia grabs Lillans hand and tells her, " I know that we are hearing such strange noises but I want you to know that those sounds you hear sound like a person. I don't think this house would be haunted and I have this theory that since this place is abandoned… And nobody else has ever come here because of the rumors, what if there's more to it here than what it seems to us." With such a strange smile on her face she then grabs her flashlight and silently moves away out of the room looking for more evidence to her theory, then down the stairs she goes disappearing into the  dark. With such a blank face Lillan didn't think about stopping Mia nor asking where she went.

She didn't realize till Macy had said something, "You're going to really let her go off down stairs alone?! What is wrong with you?!  Even though I wouldn't go by myself,  I didn't think she would go alone and here I thought she was scared huh?"  Angrily as Macy says it she walks in then out of the room. Then with confident words, "I think she's right about one thing, the doors are kind of boarded up in a way. Maybe we should look down stairs where she went?"

With such a blank expression she didn't know what else to say nor what to do next. Slightly the thought of looking around and knowing someone else is here felt mysterious as if they were solving a case like detectives. Not only were they just doing completely nothing at the time with such little clues but something strange occurs..

-THUD-

Another loud sharp thud echoes throughout the else then leading to the following…

-SCREAM-

A sharp scream of terror fills the quiet atmosphere, to this alarming suprise alert everyone. Looking left and right, both girls look outside the wooden door out to the hallway, without seeing anything the anticipation of fear bothers them. Knowing that Mia went alone gave Lillan a look of terror in her eyes, she didn't realize that her being alone for so long she thought she hurried back to the group. But unexpectedly she didn't and with such a scream only led to anxious thoughts for everyone.

Macy and her group didn't say much but had worried looks on their faces as if something bad had happened to Mia. Without a thought Matt spoke out, "I.. don't think that was a smart idea to let MIA ESPECIALLY GO OUT ALONE?! I get your good friends and all but especially letting her just do that is just wrong." As mad as he was he just couldn't do anything but speak up for what was right to him. There was nothing they could do at this very moment especially since they were all cooped up in the small room.

Words became thoughts and they couldn't do anything much more than stand around frantically. Lillan didn't think much but worried about her only good friend, she didn't think everyone would be hateful to let her go off on her own with such a smile on her face. But then a thought came to her mind, maybe there was something that wasn't lining up, why was she smiling anyways? This thought she had to figure out why, yet she didn't pay any attention when she was making such an expression at a time like this. Piecing everything together, it all came to make sense to Lillan knowing that maybe she knew something like a hint or a clue that there was something she saw that not everyone else knew about.

Without thinking she picks up the old box and looks around the old photos, photos that seem as if they were made during the couple's happiest times. She noticed that most of the backgrounds were places either in or out of the house, or somewhere else. With these clues she noticed one of the photos that she saw was taken in the kitchen, oddly enough in the background there was something off about it. As if there was another door in the kitchen that they hadn't noticed at the time when they were down stairs, a different area of the house.

A bright idea came to mind for Lillan, she maybe had thought that Mia had noticed this beforehand when she saw the photos herself and maybe left for this reason. This maybe was why she had such a confident smile on her face when she left mysteriously down the stairs. But the more she thought about it gave her anxiety, she doesn't know what caused her to scream like that.

After considering what the case could have been, Lillan looks towards the others who are standing closely at the doorway. Without a doubt she then grabs the old picture and shows Macy, "I know why she left…. It's because of this! Maybe we can check it out downstairs to see what it is." Clueless as Macy was, she didn't see what she was talking about at first, but with a sudden motion Lillian points to the mysterious hidden door in the picture. This wasn't something ordinary as it seems to be, when they were downstairs they never saw that door before while being in the kitchen. With this Macy could figure out something was quite off, she never suspected this would be something Mia would find and even if she happened to find it what was all those terror of screams for from earlier.

Nothing could be helped with thoughts of curiosity and so with an impulse decision, Macy tries to look around for anything that could look to be clues. "I think that there might be something here that could probably help us."  Confidently as she says while searching the room frantically for answers, looking underneath the old bed and with a big grin on her face she appears to find something unexpected.

An old envelope, with words written "key" appeared to be on it with black ink. Hidden underneath the bed, in the old worn down bed frame.  Not only was Lillan surprised about her discovery, but she was very anxious of what could be behind the door if this was the key to unlock it. Happily with an expression of joy she says, " See I told you! There was more to this, I honestly think I made things more useful with this clue as much as you did with finding that hidden door in the picture. Honestly as much as I want to find out what's behind that door, it kind of scares me a bit." With a big sigh she paces a little bit, back and forth in the room feeling anxious though she thought she could be brave and superior.

Nothing but unease fills them all, but with that they couldn't recognize that the one they need to save was Mia who has been gone for several minutes. With a sudden movement, the floorboard creaked loudly-

-CREEAAK

With such a sudden movement the girls and the rest of their group get frightened by this. Not only was this the first or second time it happened but it felt as if someone was monitoring them from a distance. As if the person who was watching them was hidden while watching them in the dark quiet halls. This gave them all goosebumps, this mysterious figure kept appearing as if they were trying to prevent them from finding any clues that were in this old abandoned house.

Without a noise Lillan slowly moves quietly, trying to get a peek of what this mysterious person is with a sudden sound of footsteps she could hear this figure moving slowly away without being noticed or seen by her.

As anxious as she was with a rush she says, "I know you're here.. watching us… what is there to hide in this house other than creep throughout the dark halls, do you live here or something? WHO ARE YOU." She yells as the person who she thought was once there standing in the hall runs away quickly.

Sounds of movement fills the halls then down the old creaky stairs. Macy, who stands there, was scared to death not knowing what to possibly do. The figure had disappeared minutes before they could all do anything else, this time Lillan thought it was pointless to keep staying in the same room for several minutes. At this point she wants to go back downstairs and look for Mia who has been gone, the thought of her being gone so long filled her thoughts with fear. She was a best friend to her, she couldn't just leave her where she was at the thought of her being gone just wasn't right though she knew something not everyone saw or heard of.

With that said Lillan grabs Macy's hand, and anxiously says with confidence, " I think we should go further beyond what is here." This was not something she wanted to do but she had to do for Mia's sake. She couldn't shake off the feeling that whoever was here always watched their every single movement and seemed to want them to stop in any possible way. Macy and her group of friends looked at her, not knowing what she meant by this nor what to do.

Their intentions weren't the same as hers, they wanted to leave this old abandoned place. The thoughts they have, they couldn't resist being there, it was terrifying to them. Words came to an end and silence filled the empty room. But the idea of a plan can only come to Lillans mind.

"I think that since we're here, can we at least cooperate and do this together." With slight confidence in her voice, Lillan makes the first move by grabbing the old photo and key from the box. Heading in a quick pace down the hall, then down the old creaky stairs. With her she just had to do something even if it meant she had to go alone. As she made it to the first floor, she could see the rest of the group followed her and Macy as well. Since the house didn't have much power to light the entire house they had to use their flashlights.

Even when they were downstairs minutes ago it felt as if something was odd, as if things were moved around more than what they were like before. This didn't bother most of them at all but something stood out to Lillan, there was something laying on the old antique couch. Another box small as it can be but it looked to appear more fragile and beaten up by time as it slowly wears down. Inside this old box was more odd than what the first one was. A set of old rusted keys, more photographs but instead of it being familiar places in the house it was pictures of kids with their families as if they were being stalked, and to this suspicion lead her to believe that someone left this for them.

A clue or maybe a call for help? These appeared to look like the missing children from the news from the Tv. This can only lead to one thing, a theory that maybe there was more to this house. With a quick motion Lillan grabs the keys and heads straight to the kitchen. With a sudden movement from a dark figure as night emerges and moves from right in front of her.

-CRASH-

A glass cup from once on the counter now onto the floor shatters, seconds later the strange figure runs and hides away. This made them all very terrified even more than before, Macy who was behind Lillan looked at her in fear, "L..Lillian.. That figure just now… was more different than the one we saw upstairs…" As calm as she tries to be, she quietly stands next to Lillan as the group stays together behind her.

With such words from her Lillan could only make an observation about all the discoveries they had made from just being here, the mystery figures, the old photos, keys, and the missing children lead to only one thing. Maybe this was the exact place that things were happening at, maybe the children could be or have been here?! The thoughts of her theories excite her as she rushes to the door she has been looking for.

-Grabbing the key she turns the lock on the door-

-Click-

The sound of the unlock door surprised them all, with a slow motion she opened the door steadily. With a slight sound the door creaks, unexpectedly behind the door was a set of old stone stairs leading downwards. Cobwebs filled the corners of the red brick walls, to her surprise this looked to appear to be a basement.  With a slow steady motion she goes down the stairs one step at a time, but with a sudden stop. "ARE YOU CRAZY?! Why would you just go down there without telling us to follow you, you realize that whoever was watching us COULD BE DOWN THERE?!" As she declares to Lillian mad as she could be she didn't want her to just go down there without not knowing what is down there.

But instead Lillan knew she couldn't take what Macy said seriously, so she grabbed her hand gently and led her down the steps as she went. Without hesitation Macy follows her along with the other group, not knowing what to expect down the long set of stairs. Once down the last step, all she could see was nothing without light that was halfway on throughout the house. Using her flashlight she could see that the basement was larger than what was unexpected to her, another long hall into the darkness. Another thing she could see as well is old furniture and bookshelves covered with old white silk bed sheets, keeping the dust off them as if they were brand new from the days that they were once used.

Surprisingly there didn't appear to be too much there for them to see down there. Unexpectedly with her flash light she beams the light, from the wall to the floor. Footprints of all sizes appeared in the outline of dust left on the old cold stone floors leading onwards into the distance. Lillan and Macy had a shocking expression on their faces as though what they have discovered could be a major clue to what they have been seeking for.

Something more than just the photos they have already discovered, but to their surprise they could see just these footprints and nothing else. Lillan with her phone checks the time, then with her camera she takes a picture of the footprints. Just in case someone was to clear the evidence she has it saved for later. With a slow motion Lillan follows the footprints down the hall, then signals to Macy to follow and with her group to keep a lookout. There was nothing really there for them, going down the blank red brick hall except an outline of a children's drawing from chalk.

No doubt this could be just it for them and while searching around, Macy spots something odd. "Hey… Is this odd or what there's footprints now art on the walls? I feel that maybe this wasn't just a missing person's case for them…"  Saying it with a worried tone, the more they see the more it adds up all together for them.  Then with a sudden motion they could hear someone, the same mysterious person who was watching them before but it felt different in a way.

Every inch that they could hear it they got scared, hearing it slowly walking towards them step by step as it got closer. As startling as it is with her light she shines it towards the person, with this shocking surprise she could see what they thought to be a mysterious person to be a small little girl covered in dirt. Then with a sudden motion the little girl leads them in the direction they've been heading towards.

Not knowing what to say, they follow her slowly down the hall. With each step they take they can hear drips of water coming from the ceiling to the cold stone floor. With such a quiet atmosphere, there wasn't much to say and that made them worry what would happen next. "We are here…" The little girl softly says as she points into the distance, a wall that looks to appear to be like a cubby. But the entrance of the small area was covered with such a large bookshelf as if whoever it was, was trying to keep whatever inside locked in tightly and shut.

This gave them anxiety not knowing what the little girl meant by "We are here." With such a slow pace she gets closer to the half closed cubby and tries to crouch inside as if it was struggling to get in and out of it. But with her being so small she manages to get in and what was unexpected to them is that what they saw next shocked them. When they crouched down to look inside the small confined space, they could see why she was leading the way for help that she needed…

It wasn't just her that was here, there were many more kids than what was expected to be but they all seem very thin and sick. As if whoever used this house wanted to use it as a cell to keep them captive and hidden. This gave a frightening look on both of the girls faces, this to them made it more scary than it seemed it was because they didn't know who had done this. But with the right mind Lillan crouches down and tries to crawl inside the little cubby. Most of the kids that went missing were mainly here…. This was big news for them. With a sudden motion she is able to crawl inside the small space, with a shocking face she sees the scared frightening kids sitting against the concrete wall. Scared and frightened as they could ever be they had fear in their eyes as if they were scared to death not knowing what else could happen. With a soft tone Lillan says to the girl who leads them here,"You don't have to be scared… I want to help you and your peers, there is no need to feel scared. We want to help you in any case as possible." With such heartwarming words the girl slowly approaches her and hugs her tightly. It was as if she wasn't able to do anything like this in a long time, Lillan was happy that she could trust her for the time being. As the girl slowly untangles her arms from her she slowly says with a whisper, "G..guys..there good people.."  Her voice sounded weak and frail as if she and the others hadn't had much food and water lately.

Yet these kids look to be young kids between 7-9 years old, to her surprise she alerts Macy standing outside the space. "Hey Macy! We have to get these kids out of here, I feel as if we went in here without thinking of a good plan to get them out. Unexpectedly all the kids that went missing are all here! Isn't that great?!" With such excitement Macy felt tearful because she knew that even if she wasn't the greatest person she still has a heart for younger kids.

With her words she swiftly crouches down waiting for what's next, "Okay I will try and grab a kid and hand you them but first try to move that bookshelf."  Calmly as Lillan says that to Macy, a sudden noise alerts her from a distance.

A mysterious figure from the dark appears in front of her limping, with a sudden flash of her flashlight towards them. Surprised as she was, she shouts, "MIA?!!" This was nothing she suspected at all, with her loud tone of voice she quietly replies, "Are you okay? Are you hurt? Where have you been?" With such rushed questions Mia slowly sits down on the ground trying to be calm about the situation. This was making both the girls anxious they didn't expect her to be down here fully covered in dust and dirt. With a steady motion she reaches for each kid and tries to get them through the small space, but to her surprise there wasn't enough room for most of them to fit through.

With a determined tone from Lillan," Macy, can you give me a hand and push that bookshelf, I can't get most of them out if the space isn't wide enough." With her words Macy got up quickly and pushed her body against the big bookshelf but this wasn't enough, then Mia got up very carefully and helped her. With both girls pushing it at the same time, they manage to push it far enough for the opening to be clear.

Excitement filled the kids' eyes knowing that they will be able to leave this awful space and go home to there warm loving families. This gave all the girls relief as they slowly inch their way out of the small confined space.  And started heading down the hall towards the door, with curiosity Lillan asked, "How long have you guys been down here? And who in the world would do this to you?"

Even though she wanted to question the girl who led them here she didn't want it to feel like an interrogation. But the girl looked at her with a smile,"I'm not sure how long we've been down here and the person we couldn't figure out since they were wearing dark clothes and." As her words cut off they could hear something, all the older girls could say was "RUN!" Fast as they could be, all three girls rushed the children towards the door. They didn't want to find out what made that mysterious noise from the other end of the hall. Anxiety fills the girls as they inch their way up the stairs, banging on the door to signal the group to open it, they open the door swiftly. Only to find out that most of the group was in the kitchen while Matt guarded the door, one by one the helped the kids get through the door and with a rapid motion they all slammed the door and locked it.

Relief upon them made the situation less worse than what it was made to be for them, calmly as they sat down in the old antique chair. Trying to catch their breath, Mia told them what happened to her when she disappeared. "I know that I left without saying a word but I discovered that there was a familiar clue to what was in the yellow room, so I left to check it out but it was locked. So I looked around for a key but then when I did there was something that didn't feel right during that time. I went into another room that looked like it was new and it was being used so I went inside, but when I looked around… someone was behind me and it seemed I was knocked out with something when they were behind me like a cloth filled with some sort of liquid.  A

and the next thing you know it I feel myself being shoved down the stairs as if whoever this person was didn't want me to find out and then locked that door with a key. I assume you found the other key since there's normally two?" Her expression from her words made her feel less anxious about what happened but it seems that she was shoved down the stairs, she sprained her ankle and it made it difficult for her to walk.

This bothered Macy yet she wasn't the type of person to care about people's emotions or feelings, but to her this made her think differently about the two girls who she challenged. As if they were right about their studies than it being some place abandoned from society. With her feeling the way she is Macy looks through her backpack that she carried around, a small red container that looks to be a med kit. Quickly as she was she opens it and grabs the bandages and then heads to Mia, "I know that I may not be the nicest person but I feel responsible and let me wrap your sprained ankle with this." As she takes her shoe off and wraps her foot, Mia felt relieved that there was pressure on her ankle, to ease the pain even if she was sitting or walking.

Placing her other shoe on her back, she stands up facing Lillian, "I think its about time we leave this place for good and call the authorities later. I don't think it's safe to be here anymore." With her words she felt confident and looked for the backdoor around the kitchen. Lillan agreed to her words and slowly shifted the kids near the counters for their safety. And with Macy's  observations she sees the backdoor and unlocks it since it was easy for her to figure out. With an excited tone in her voice she says, "I did it! Door unlock and-"

-Lights flickered on then off then on-

Unexpectedly this scared everyone and as soon as Macy runs towards them she leads the kids outside one by one out the  back door. As they all went out, Lillan and Mia were the only ones still in the kitchen, "I think that they don't know we have them." Lillan says with a concerned look on her face knowing whoever was doing that with the power box was trying to scare them away unaware that  they already found the kids they hid away in the basement. With Lillans backpack she remembers she stored some of the clues to bring to the police station. Happily as she was, she aids Mia and heads out the back door towards the cars.

Walking slowly they finally made it to their destination and to their group. With all 6 kids they were feeling a sense of relief that they did something nobody thought that they could ever do. And when they were about to leave Lillan helped Mia and the car and told Macy, "Hey let's all head to the station with the kids and give the police the clues we found, and the photos as well. And maybe when we tell them, let them know they were here so they can investigate this place more so no more stuff happens like this again." With ease both girls nod and help the kids into the car and head off.

Later that night as they drove off they finally made it to the police station and told them their case and showed them the clues they found along with the photos of kids. And when they showed them the missing kids that looked weak and frail they all felt at ease. Calling their parents and hearing them cry made them feel like they were their heroes to them and felt a great sense of achievement for what they did.

And so for the rest of that year Lillan and the girls attended school with each other as good friends and continue to get along even with their differences towards each other.  At this time it was the summer time for them and as they watched the news they could see since that incident from the the spring, that they decided to tear down that house due to its use of being a hide out for the kidnapping case of the children they had found out earlier that year.
