As Skylar slowly opened her eye, a solitary tear dripped down her cheeks, leaving her puzzled as to why she was crying. Ever since arriving in this world, she had been experiencing strange visions and dreams. She couldn't shake off the feeling that they were somehow connected to her first dream. She was almost certain that the person she kept seeing was the same one she saw in her nightmares, but why?
Glancing at the clock, she saw that it was 3am and sat up. "Having trouble sleeping?" she heard a familiar voice say. Startled, she looked over at the cushion and saw Ramiel sitting there, dressed all in black as usual with his black gloves. Her heart skipped a beat as she felt her body start to calm down in his presence.
"Your Highness, what are you doing here?" she asked, trying to hide her expression. "You almost scared me to death."
"Did I?" he asked with a hint of laziness in his voice.
"Well, you know I'm human, right? I don't need this kind of stress." Skylar replied, but Ramiel only continued to stare at her, not saying a word.
"You should be resting, Your Highness. Is everything okay?" she asked, standing up now.
"When did these dreams start?" he asked her.
"Since I arrived in this world. It's strange, isn't it? Wait, how did you know about my dream?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Please don't tell me this is another one of your powers." she said, intrigued by his abilities. As Skylar walked over to him, stopping a few feet away, he couldn't help but admire her in her nightwear. His eyes roamed over her curves, accentuated by the sheer fabric, and he found himself drawn in by her every movement and gaze. It was intoxicating.
"Why did you stop?" he asked, raising an
eyebrow inquisitively.
"I shouldn't get too close. After all, I am just your maid." she replied, a sweet smile on her face. Ramiel's gaze lingered on her, taking in every inch of her appearance. He couldn't resist the way she looked at him, the way she moved - he was captivated. His heart raced and his breath caught in his throat as he continued to admire her from afar.
Ramiel's eyes roved over her, from head to toe. In that moment, she became acutely
aware of what she was wearing as she stood before him in her nightwear. He couldn't help but take in every inch of her. His gaze lingered on her curves, tracing the outline of her body through the sheer fabric.
She could feel his eyes on her, drinking in her every movement. It was both exhilarating and terrifying. She had never felt so exposed, so vulnerable. Yet in this moment, there was a strange sense of comfort in letting him see her like this. She couldn't help but think how insane it was that this man had such a hold on her.
"Your highness, may I change?" she stammered.
"It's of no use, darling. You are already my fiancee, soon to be my wife," he said, his eyes never leaving her. She could feel her body flush in response, thankful for the dim light that hid her embarrassment. As he stood up and closed the distance between them, Ramiel's presence seemed to engulf her.
"Don't be afraid. I won't bite," he said with a smirk.
"Do I look scared?" Skylar tried to play it cool.
"You never cease to amuse me," he chuckled. He wrapped his arm around her waist, sending a jolt of electricity through her body. She felt her heart race as he caressed her cheek, turning her cheeks a rosy shade. What was happening? It was like he had control over her, and she was powerless.
"Skylar," he spoke her name in a husky tone that sent shivers down her spine. Had his voice always been this sweet? He then pulled out a necklace and placed it around her neck.
"Never take it off. It will help me protect you if danger ever arises. Take care of yourself, my bride," he warned with a hint of possessiveness in his tone, before vanishing in a blink. Skylar was left standing there,
completely weak and humming with his presence. She couldn't believe she missed him already.
My goodness, what in the world is wrong with me? I must be losing my sanity. He's completely driving me insane," she exclaimed before returning to bed. After trying to calm herself down for over an hour, she finally managed to fall back asleep.
The following morning, Skylar was awoken by the bright light peeking through her window.
Glancing at the clock, she saw that it was already 7am. She got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up.
Once she was done, she emerged from the bathroom dressed in a grey gown with her hair in a bun. The memories of last night kept flooding back to her. She absentmindedly touched the necklace that Ramiel had given her. It was in the shape of a crescent moon with a space for stars. It must have been a matching pair to his. Pushing the thought aside, she slipped on her flats and headed outside.
To her surprise, she saw Princess Arya standing there.
"Your Highness," she greeted with a respectful bow.
"Please, just call me Arya," the Princess replied with a warm smile.
She continued, "I wanted you to come downstairs and stay with me. I'm sure you've heard the news of my engagement. Ramiel wouldn't mind if you stayed with me."
"Yes, Your Highness," Skylar answered with a sweet smile.
"Alright, let's go," Arya said, leading the way.
"Oh, I wanted to discuss something with you," Skylar said.
"We have all the time in the world, Skylar," she reassured with a smile.
Skylar nodded and followed her out of the room.
