Reunion. Again.

About two weeks have passed and I still haven't gone out. I was living on instant food I had stocked up at home. I wanted to go see Shu but I had to stop myself many times. He won't be in the state to see me or anyone. He will need time to recover too. Maybe seeing me will bring all the trauma back to him and maybe he will break down like I did. All I could do was to be patient and stay home and worry over things I had no control over.

I also stopped myself many times from sending any messages to Sayna. I felt like I had to say something, but I could just imagine her getting scared as fuck seeing a message notification on her phone.

I had to let it go. I have failed and I can never make up for it.

I was slowly accepting that fact and the more I accepted the faster each day has passed. By the time about two weeks have passed, I was just an empty shell rooted to the couch watching the news on tv that I had absolutely no interest in.

So the world goes on.

But it didn't feel like it had anything to do with me.

:Ding dong:

Fuck off, you Jehovah's witnesses.

:Ding dong:

Seriously, I can't be saved. Don't bother.

:Ding dong:

Go suck on your god's dick. I'm gonna just burn in hell.

"Boh! I know you are in there! This is Detective Haas! Open up!"

The detective had an authority in his voice that I always found impossible to ignore. I dragged myself out of the couch and went over to open the door.

"Hey ya"

It was none other than Shu standing there, with Detective Haas standing just behind him.

"SHU!"

I fell to my knees and hugged him. Then pulled myself back to look at him and hugged him again.

God… these bruises on your face… and you used to be so pretty...

"Hey"

Shu was trying to say something to me but I couldn't hear. I was too caught in the moment as I felt like my salvation has arrived.

"Hey man, you stink"

Shu finally managed to squirm out of my embrace and pushed me away.

We then both looked at each other for a second and started to laugh.

"Welcome back Shu"

"Ahem-", Detective Haas interrupted.

I looked up to him and both Shu and him moved to a side to make a way.

And there stood Sayna, her face was still all bruised but at least the swellings were gone and she was back to recognisable face.

My whole body froze at that moment and I was getting gripped with insurmountable dread.

"Sayna wanted to come as well"

A female officer stepped forward to announce.

I looked at Shu and Detective Haas. Shu didn't have much of an expression and Detective Haas had a nervous look I'm not used to seeing from him.

"Sayna insisted she wanted to leave the hospital, and she insisted that she comes here. We can't keep her at the hospital against her will and we can't leave her alone at her home"

I still couldn't process in my head what was going on as the female officer explained.

"Boh… I don't know how to put this but-"

"It's okay", I interrupted the detective.

"Welcome… home"

Sayna did not say anything and just kept her eyes on the tip of her shoes.
