Chapter 3 A little dramatic

After school, all students went out of the building like bunch of flies going in different directions. Shina on the other hand, got her bike ready, until she spotted Abi and Kim who acted like they didn't see her .

"hi Abi! hi Kim!" she said smiling

"oh hi shina..." they said at the same time

"I was thinking, why don't we three hang out at cupcake island today? we go there every Monday, remember?" shina said anxiously

"uhm.... sorry shina, Kim and I are going on a double date with Anna and Ray today . so, we'll have to skip it..." Abi said nervously "you know, since you've got no boyfriend and all so um..we don't want you to feel left out so we decided not to bring you along at all , you understand right?" ouch! that word hurt like a needle!

"oh I understand " shina said a little disappointed "I really do...."

"we promise to bring you along next time" Kim said walking away with abi as they whisper and giggle

"sure you do." she said under her breath then hopd on her bike and rode away.

Stopping in front of her home, she got off the bike and parked it in front of the door then got in only to find her grandma packing some lemon cookies into a pink tray

"Grandma I'm home..." she sniffed in a lovely scent of baked cookies "what's that smell.....is...is that what I think it is?" she said walking towards her grandma

"it sure is" Maggie said smiling then removed her baking gloves and dusted her apron.

"Lemon cookies!" she cheered about to reach for one

"they're not for you!" her grandma said hitting her hand with a spatucular and then carried the tray

"Grandma, is this my punishment for disrespecting dad? please don't punish me? even if you wanna punish me not with lemon cookies, you know how I love these snacks" she said with her mouth watering due to the smell

"alright, you can have one"Maggie said giving her a cookie then she grabbed it and ate it

"hmm....I love these cookies, sometimes , I wonder why you closed the bakery" shina said again . Her grandmother used to own a bakery, the famous in New York, until Grandpa died and due to the depression she had to shut down the bakery.

"who are these for anyways?" shina asked changing the topic

"oh, I forgot to tell you dear, but we have new neighbors, they just moved In today, so as their neighbor, so as to welcome them to the neighborhood, we are giving them my very special home made Lemon cookies!"

"I'm sure they'll love it! since I love it"

"well I heard from Mrs Harrison that , they just. arrived from Korea, and they have two kids!" Maggie cheered "How lovely is it to have Koreans as a neighbor ?" Maggie added

"that's funny, a new student from Korea just joined us in the semester " shina said

"well that's that about that, now go change, we'll have to look presentable if we're going to welcome new people to the neighborhood" Maggie said smiling

"okay grandma" she said walking towards the stairs then her dad approached her

"shina you're back....."

"Hey Dad" she said coldly and ran up the stairs

"don't worry she'll be fine" Maggie said assuring him

Later in the evening, everyone were well dressed to welcome their new neighbors. Shina was wearing a black shirt with jeans and black sneakers. She packed her hair in a ponytail and then let strands of hair to fall on her ears. Light make-up , colourless lip gloss and perfume.

"Shina, you look lovely"Olivia commented but shina totally ignored her

"Can we go" she said going to stand beside her grandma and carried the tray of cookies

"if you take a bite, I'll know" Maggie said smiling at shina. Aunt Sofia glared at shina until they left .
