I had just finished feeding Alice since Ellen was on a meeting with her editors, she was behind on her work and needed balance. So now her time had to be slightly cut with us but we understood. I also had taken some of my work when she took her shift to take care of Alice. So yes, you've figured it out, Alice isn't getting better. In fact, she hasn't been keeping anything in her body, everything that comes in. just wants to come out. The only thing we could do is wait for Glen to show up.
The door opened softly and I looked up to see Ellen walk in with Glen. My mood instantly turned more sour, Glen did not look good. She looked pale as if she had seen as ghost morph into a real like ghost. Alice must have seen it to because she tried to make herself sit up. Ellen and I had to balance her but because she lost weight so quickly it was easy but we had to be cautious.
"Gl-en…" Alice whispered. "What's going… on with me?" she said slightly more assured.
"I- you…it…" Glen tried but failed. Ellen pulled the documents from Glens hands and pulled out the papers herself. She instantly paled…
"Someone…please… talk to me." Alice said starting to tear up as fear began to take over.
"Is this… is this accurate?" Ellen said after a moment.
"80 percent." Glen murmured. I pulled the documents and scanned it, finding a section that guttered me.
"Is there a chance…" I tried.
"We need to get her to the hospital to make sure." Glen said.
Ellen bolted out the room and I to the closet, pulling out a duffel bag, shoving in her neccasities. Glen seemingly rooted at her spot as she stared at her little sister. I could hear her chest holding back the heavy cries. She was shaking. Shaking in ways I hadn't seen her shake in forever.
Glen was always the strong one, always brave and willing. Always the one to protect her little sister from any sort of pain. She never cried, no matter how much she got hurt. No matter how much someone hurt her. Glen hated to be weak and show weakness. She hated being vulnerable because she knew that people were hurtless. Despite the façade being a burden and heavy, she never once took it off. She knew her goals and ambitions. She knew how her heart was fragile, so she protected it.
It was always her sister who seemed to have it together. She tried over and over again. no matter how many times she got hurt. No matter how many times they ruined her. Her sister was braver then her in so many aspects. So she took notes and whenever her sister needed her she would do whatever she could to protect her. To help her but right now
-all I felt was failure. Failure to protect her from a simple heartbreak. Failure to check up on her and be there when she needed me the most. Now the person that stared back at me with fear and heartbreak. Wasn't recognizeble. I could see her needing help but even I knew it was too late. Way way too late. How could I tell her? How could I tell her that a part of her was dying and it was killing a part of her? I wasn't even sure until I got her to the hosipital and we need a thoroughly done check and test. Maybe we could help her but the way I felt. My gut said it was too late…
I heard shouting but I couldn't stop looking at my sisters pooling eyes. Shaking scared as if a monster had come to life before her. All that working for my ambitions but I forgot the most important thing… her. The shouting was getting louder. No it was my name… I knew my name. four letters.

"Glen!" I yelled again. This being the fifth time and I had to slap her to snap her out of it. "Focus we need to get her to the damn hospital." I shouted at her, she nodded hurridly then moved forward to help Alice get out of bed.
We could hear the car outside loud and clear and I instantly knew, Ellen had taken her boyfriend's fast car. The door got pushed open harshly as we tried to move Alice, I looked up to see Sam, Alice's boyfriend. He gave us a kind nod and then scooped Alice up carefully. Apologizing at each moment for touching her as though he had sinned for touching her.
None of us cared, we just needed to get out.
