Victim’s revenge

Bugak could sense something was off, but he would never expect this scenery. That young girl he killed out of pity, frozen mid-movement as she stood right above the stairs. And a man's head peeking from the middle of the stairs, slowly reaching out to help the first human to safety.

Giulia wasn't able to take a good look at him earlier, thanks to her swollen eyes and unclear view, but now, her fright nailed her to the floor. His eyes were like nothing she had ever seen. Everything about him screamed danger, especially his resentful gaze.

He ducked to dodge the head jam and moved forward, which finally triggered her survival instinct, urging her to stumble back and flee to safety, almost breaking her ankles on the steep stairs.

'Like bugs, when you flip a stone.' Bugak chuckled, with the sigh of a good chase. But he didn't have much time left to mess around. 10 hours at best.

His large body swiftly turned around, bridging the distance to the window in just three steps. He took his time and opened it before overleaping to the roof and jumping on the ground, right in front of this pair of humans.

Towering above both of them, he reached out and forcefully pulled the man down to the ground.

Weak. Hopelessly weak. It was boring. He was somehow reluctant to finish these two.

"Tell me, how do I get blood from silk?" Bugak loosened his grip on the thin neck so this petty human would be able to answer. But he just trembled, with no response.

"Do you know how to wash dried blood from silk?" He sighed, raising his eyes to the face of that plain girl, who fell to the ground on her own, with trembling fingers still somehow able to hold the knife.

Once again with no response.

Her eyes darted around the countless bodies, still twitching now and then, mutilated and covered with flies and crows. It took her another moment when she realized what the exciting tingle in her core meant.

Heroes.

Every single corpse belonged to a player in shining armor or an expensive gown.

"I'm fucking talking to you two, so tell me - how do I wash dried blood from silk?" Bugak was a patient man, but also short of time. She will be back an hour or two after midnight. There is not enough time to clean up this mess, take a nap, and dry her clothes.

"Salt!" Giulia suddenly yelped when she finally found her lost voice "Let it soak in cold, salty water, rinse it, and wash it with soap."

"And next?" Bugak narrowed his eyes, unsure whether this girl was trustworthy or not.

"That's it. Just rinse it and dry it." She breathed out. Of course, she knows how to wash blood out of clothes, every woman does.

"You will help me and I'll let you live. With all limbs, completely unhurt." Bugak promised after he thought that through and Giulia eagerly agreed.

"I'll wash it as best as I can, I swear! There will be no trace left after I - I -" Giulia shut up when she noticed his expression. Did she say something wrong?

She did.

And she realized her mistake when he forced her to hold the knife tighter, by squeezing her hand until her knuckles whitened.

"Continue where I ended. Don't kill them too fast, they deserve to suffer."

Bugak realized she shared his beliefs when he glanced out of the window, seeing her laughing into the face of some man, while her knife left a deep wound in his lower body.

It left him smiling above the pail of cold water he just salted and tried to stir.
